Wow that’s amazing that was very cool to see Jess and Pam and jay and Staci all together so very lucky and that cool guy who helped out seems like an old Harley guy be safe
Thank you for demonstrating the one thing all shovel heads need . . . . patients ! "Shovels may not run right for long, but they will run wrong forever" ! R. W.Kelley
JB weld has been around for years and yes it is a very good product. My dad got me started using it and he just passed away a couple of years ago at 81. I trust the product! I'm sure you will have great success when using it
I love the guy that says “I’m no mechanic”, but has his carb torn apart!! 😂😂 Adam, you are definitely on the mechanic spectrum!! You may not be as high as some, but you’re at least on that spectrum!! I myself, am not on the Spectrum!! 😂😂😂
Nice to see Jess. Can never have enough of Her Two Wheels. Adam, you know the rules, if you question it? Make it no longer a question. Hang in there brother, I'll take it off your hands someday, Lol.
JB Weld, duct tape, bailing wire and the occasional flattened beer can for gasket material... that's the "good ol' days" experience. It got you back home, gotta like that!
Saw you and Ashley Saturday morning at the Filling Station Cafe leaving out. WE were sitting outside under the patio. Keep up the good work and good luck on selling ur place.
I always bring a tool kit when I go out on my shovelhead. Just back from an 800 mile trip, no issues. Just keep riding it, and you will get to know it.
been running that same carb for 50 years. the hole plugged was the float bowl vent hole. I experienced a cottonwood fluff strand enter the gas tank flow into the carb and stick on the float valve seat.
When you get the bowl back on you have to tap the bowl to get the float to clear and stop fuel. Then snug the jet down. And the hole in the top is the overflow vent. They are pretty good carbs just need to rebuild it with all new prongs and gaskets.
Been using JB weld for years, it's okay for an emergency fix but anything that bears weight or has a stress point I wouldn't trust my life on it. Always a good idea to ride with friends, won't be long before I'll be able to!
Adam, As an old Shovelhead rider, get rid of that carb... throw an S&S carb on and you will not have those problems... you have to be a mechanic to ride those older bikes and if you keep it and ride it long enough you will be one! Good luck with it, they are not bad but you have to constantly keep up on the wrenching......
everyone is rocking you're new Bars and there all sold out now! i want them for my street glide.. great video Adam i would love to ride down to you're camp ground and spend a week with you what a dream that is of mine!!
if running bad and fuel leaking your float bowl is stuck.Clean sedinent bowl ,and stick a wire in your jet that goes straight up and dump some Sea Foam in fuel tank. Then " RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT"
If you make the Shovelhead your main bike and keep ironing out its problems, it will eventually become fairly reliable providing you religiously maintain it. This is why old time Harleys become a lifestyle. It means hard-core commitment. That also helped cement the brotherhood of old time motorcycle clubs. (Said as a one-time 1950 Panhead and 45 WL owner). 😅
In 1977 I had a Honda 750 -4 chopper and two of my carburetors were just pouring gas out thank God my cousin was riding with me and he had a Harley that he could keep siphoning gas and into mine I got it to the gas station at yeehaw junction on the Turnpike and I hit oil and dropped my bike when we got the bike up and started it no more leaks lol stay safe stay strong stay healthy God bless and enjoy life
so last week I discovered that the dealer broke one of the tabs that holds the side cover on my Indian. They used super-glue to repair it and didn't tell me. Of course, I didn't notice it for several months until I removed the cover again and it just broke off again. I used JB Weld to repair it.. and it appears to be holding strong. That sh*t is some strong stuff.
Nothing like having good friends around when a bike is in need of some love. Get a S&S Super E and your life will be better. Speaking of leaking gas on a hot engine, I just came through the Eisenhower tunnel and the bike lost electrical power and died. Pulled to the side of the road and pulled off the seat of my '98 Road King. Gas was leaking badly from the rear seam of the tank and running down the frame towards the main electrical circuit breaker. I don't know how I kept from going up in flames. God still needs me around is the only thing I could come up with. Long story short, soldered it up with some stuff from Lowe's and made it back to Arkansas. Like you I had good friends to help me out. Makes for great memories.
I once found a piece of fuel hose on the insterstate within an hour and that replaced my cracked hose. made a memory and fixed the leak. Oh, now I do carry a peice of fuel line, tools, sprak plug, fuel filter, oil and a sapre engine in the leather bags. good job....if you can swing a screwdriver handle with that percision then, yes, you are a mechanic!
It was definitely only firing on one cylinder. If I were you, one major change I would make is to put an S&S carb on that bike & possibly a thunder jet kit. To add more fuel to the system.
Possible to get a rebuild kit since its American Automotive ware? It would take about two hours at a friendly gas station that would let you clean your carb parts too -
If you ever come to Houston, and need a part for an old bike. I know an old biker man at MC creations loves bikers and Jesus and probably would love to help you, brother.
@Adam Sandoval, I know it’s early but wondering if you have an idea for the Stubborn American 2025 dates. And if you haven’t had an opportunity to see Eureka Springs I highly recommend you putting it on your to do list. Great coffee shops, great food, wonderful sites to see and a lot of folks are sleeping on the rides in Arkansas.
I rode old Harley's 1983 models on back up until early 1990s and to tell you the truth I do not miss them at all. I know because I am a mechanic that worked on several of them and everybody's that rode on trips with me. It is no fun working on a bike while your trying to ride it around with your friends on modern 1984 and up Harley's that do not have to worry about breaking down all the time. The damn things broke down when brand new and it is a fight to keep them going mainly because they were never balanced correctly from the factory and they run to hot causing oil to break down and premature wear and blow by. Not being negative here but just trying to help new buyers out because it can be very disheartening riding these old machines breaking down and leaking all the time.
So I’ve been checking out your channel for quite a while few months couple 34 years anyway so I’d like to come up to your campground there but here’s the thing I ride a Honda helix motor scooter/motorcycle 250 cc run 75 on the highway if you don’t know what that is google it it’ll show you pictures of it. Would I be welcome to stay there or would I get beat down by other bikers lol I’m still like have a little fun. Let me know. What’s up. Can I ride my scooter up there, let me know
You would absolutely be welcome! The coolest thing I always see is riders who own all different types of bikes (and even non riders) just enjoying each others company💯
Wow that’s amazing that was very cool to see Jess and Pam and jay and Staci all together so very lucky and that cool guy who helped out seems like an old Harley guy be safe
Part of the beauty of old motorcycles is being able to use an o-ring from a flashlight and some JB weld to get you rollin
I agree!
He’s a modern day Mcgyver!
I agree
JB Weld the Bubble Gum for motorcycles!
JB Weld has been a savior a few times for me on dirt bikes and a boat I used to have. It is good stuff to keep in the tool box.
Thank you for demonstrating the one thing all shovel heads need . . . . patients !
"Shovels may not run right for long, but they will run wrong forever" !

This isn't just a motorcycle, it's a content creating machine!! I love it!!
Thanks for tuning in 👊🏼
Was a trucker for 47 years. JB weld was always in the side box. fixed 2 leaking fuel tanks with it and lasted for years.
Benefits of actually knowing how to fix the simplest carb. Priceless
This was SUCH a great day! Loved spring hopping with ya!
Yes it was! Thanks for coming out. I hope you enjoyed your stay 👊🏼😎
Stoked to you are keeping the old Iron horse on the road regardless of these minor issues!!!! Keep keeping it real jefe!!!!
JB weld has been around for years and yes it is a very good product. My dad got me started using it and he just passed away a couple of years ago at 81. I trust the product! I'm sure you will have great success when using it

That was a good video, Adam. I enjoyed it immensely. Those bagger boys will always come through. Greetings from Columbus, Ohio and have a great week.
Thanks for tuning in 👊🏼
I've used JB Weld for so many things motor related and it has never failed me.
Ahhhhhhhhh, the good ole days when every ride was an adventure, and you made strangers, brothers and wrenched on the side of the road.
Part of owning a Shovelhead is doing roadside repairs, but as you said, there's nothing else like riding an old bike.
I agree!
Saw you and Ashley Saturday morning at the Filling Station Cafe leaving out. WE were sitting outside under the patio. Keep up the good work and good luck on selling ur place.
👊🏼😎
As much as our old bikes have issues on the road, I agree it makes memories.
JB Weld great stuff!!!!!!!!🏍😀
The best!
I always bring a tool kit when I go out on my shovelhead. Just back from an 800 mile trip, no issues. Just keep riding it, and you will get to know it.
Love it only thing you didn’t use was a zip tie 😂😂😂
been running that same carb for 50 years. the hole plugged was the float bowl vent hole. I experienced a cottonwood fluff strand enter the gas tank flow into the carb and stick on the float valve seat.
Good ole JB Weld, when all else fails 😅.
Thanks Adam

Very cool stop.

I saw the Route 62 motor resort when we rode through on Saturday. Very cool looking place and I love riding through Eureka Springs on a bike
Awesome!
It really is a wild little town
Had an 83 shovel, jb was an essential in the tool/parts bag 😂
Congratulations Adam. You have now joined the ranks of old school real bikers😂
everyone is rocking you're new Bars and there all sold out now! i want them for my street glide.. great video Adam i would love to ride down to you're camp ground and spend a week with you what a dream that is of mine!!
What can I say… they’re engineered perfectly! Were you looking on my website, or on krausmotorco.com ? Because I see them available through Kraus
JB Weld. Hell ya.
I rebuilt an old 72 international dump truck carb with JB a couple years ago. Still going strong. Lol
if running bad and fuel leaking your float bowl is stuck.Clean sedinent bowl ,and stick a wire in your jet that goes straight up and dump some Sea Foam in fuel tank. Then " RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT"
Put a set of champion plugs in that motor. And a super E carb on it and you will be all good 😎

Yeehaw Junction is about 40 miles east of me!
Love it. Don't forget the teflon tape on the next adventure.
Great point!
That town sure is unique
The set of points from a 67 Chevy truck and some champion spark plugs had to run a lot better
Fixing stuff on side of a road is sometimes the best memories 😊
That’s absolutely true!
so last week I discovered that the dealer broke one of the tabs that holds the side cover on my Indian. They used super-glue to repair it and didn't tell me. 😖 they definitely should’ve said something
@@adamsandoval ya. But good 'ol JB Weld.. lol

Glad to hear that didn’t turn into a disaster 💯
Love adam. All the info all the bikes travel camp grounds. Life lifestyle.
Shovelhead requirements....weekly torque down party. Carry tool bag. Carry extra plugs and points.
I once found a piece of fuel hose on the insterstate within an hour and that replaced my cracked hose. made a memory and fixed the leak. Oh, now I do carry a peice of fuel line, tools, sprak plug, fuel filter, oil and a sapre engine in the leather bags.

Did you put some vasoline on the gasket? If not use it on your new gasket. Helps keep it from hardening.
Good idea
Cool tip
The mold shovelheads you got to stay on the points in the plugs
Have you addressed the issue you had with the gas caps being rusty?
One thing at a time 🤣 I’m sure once I shake out all these issues, it’ll be smooth sailing… just trying to get to know this old girl
Love, love love Eureka Springs. Spent 5 nights and extended by another day. If you haven't...GO VISIT. VERY biker friendly.
It’s just hard to leave! I absolutely love that town 💯
Dude I jb welded a fuel tank on an old truck I had way back when. It works wonders.
J B Weld can fix almost anything
Hell yeah!
nice video, already had the same problem on my 1340 the float was stuck 👍✌
Thanks for tuning in 👊🏼
It was definitely only firing on one cylinder. If I were you, one major change I would make is to put an S&S carb on that bike & possibly a thunder jet kit. To add more fuel to the system.
The symptoms of dirty gasoline caused it to be stopped up You may also want to inspect gas tank to free from debris and rust… Good Luck!
Fun fact, Eureka Springs does not have any traffic lights.
Next time bring some Bazooka !
Lol
Jb weld n duct tape can fix anything!!!
Possible to get a rebuild kit since its American Automotive ware? It would take about two hours at a friendly gas station that would let you clean your carb parts too -
Sometimes you have to play MacGyver…but if it works is it really a bad idea? 👍✌️
Just an adventure with old bikes
The best kind of adventure!
You haven't really rode until you've repaired a bike on the side of the road!! Sometimes you just have to figure how to overcomer a problem.
I guess I’m not the only one with bike issues lol
Hope you were able to fix your bike.
Are you gonna be in Eureka Springs in October and/or November?😎😎
JB weld works.
You gotta use the kick start for it to run right
Went to Eureka Springs this year at BB&BQ
Right on!
Take out the old points system and replace with Dynatek 2000i Ignition Kit S&S Super E Carburetor They are dependable after that
Shovelheads can be high maintenance, get an Evo, those machines are bullet proof.
He has one. The Warhorse!
Time for An S&S Super E carb
The price of the older bike as long as you are having fun but newer ones are easier ride safe
If you ever come to Houston, and need a part for an old bike. I know an old biker man at MC creations loves bikers and Jesus and probably would love to help you, brother.
I appreciate the support!

👍👍
Just put an S&S Super E on it, problem solved!
Hey Adam get rid of that carburetor put a mikuni on it that'll solve your problems buddy
I bet you get more attention on the shovel then any new bike you’ve had
43 days till RP, yeah
I’m super excited about it! Hopefully, you’re riding down with us…?
Your tighting things to much that’s why you broke the carb ! 😎🇺🇸
Put a S&S on it
Isn't that your sportster sitting at trailer ?
Yes
That carb with stick the float and overflow. The bike will run like crap. Just tap to the bowl and it should clear.
It has a cracked bowl
Hello Adam
Hi there!
Frickin junker!!! Just kidding. Way to handle the trouble and get the wind on ya
just put a s&s carb a it will last forever. been running S&S carbs for years 78 & 74 yr. shovelheads

Adam, dont do it. Dont be a fad follower. I wouldnt take 10 of those for my 61(year not cube) panhead
I’ve wanted one ever since my uncle had a similar one, which is what piqued my interest in motorcycling
Ahhhhhhhhh, the good ole days when every ride was an adventure, and you made strangers, brothers and wrenched on the side of the road.
Hey Adam get rid of that carburetor put a mikuni on it that'll solve your problems buddy
