When they killed Bianca I was sure Varic would be next.
Yea, it definitely looks like some kind of retirement at least
it's funny you bring up the Q&A up, cause in it they were asked why varric's hair is darker, and matt answered that his hair is grayer than it's darker, and that we would see it in other contexts. that sounds to me like pretty solid proof that he'll probably not be dead, at least after this scene lol
It's a mix of evidence pro and against. They mentioned we will see the color better in other scenes, yes. There is also a bunch of scenes missing because the gameplay was very heavily edited.
Seems like they slipped twice, so my bets are that he might die. Either very early on , or later in the game :/ It would be a very Bioware style. Preferably not at all though and we could finally romance him
Narratively speaking, killing off Varric would not "motivate" Rook. How long has he possibly known him? You could argue that It might happen to motivate us as the player... but in all honesty, it would just pissed me off if Varric dies.
Great find. You don't let any detail go unnoticed 😂
Not on my watch haha!
_IF_ Varric dies, if that needs to happen, I hope it's when the Inquisitor is around. We as the players have a huge connection to Varric, but Rook, the character, doesn’t. The Inky, however, has been Varric's friend for over ten years at this point. It would be more meaningful if it was Hawke imo, but that doesn’t seem likely to happen, and at this point the Inky is as much of a friend to Varric and Hawke is. It would make it more meaninful for everyone- both the characters and the players.
👆
Nah, the Inquisitor will never be on the same level for Varric. Hawke is literally his best friend. The inquisitor is a friend at best and a coworker at worst.
@@lcicada Sure, but like I said, we clearly aren't getting Hawke (as it's been stated whoever was left in the fade isn't going to matter) so Inky is the next best thing, considering they've known Varric for at least a decade at this point (bonus points for the fact our favorite dwarf is wearing an Inquisition symbol on his belt)
What a brilliant catch about the Q&A session! Paying closer attention, it definitely sounds like a gaffe on the devs' part.
Omg, thaaaaank you! I know some ppl might feel differently, but something got spoiled there. One of them is gonna die. Hope the egg dying is preventable 🥚
@@greenbrownblue One thing's for sure, he's not allowed to die before Lavellan gives him a piece of her mind!
Queen!!! This is an excellent video you have truly outdone yourself. I have been noticing Varric's green glowing shape at the bottom of the stairs.
You and Neve would make an excellent team because you're both incredible. 🙌😆 detectives.
Thank you 🥰! That's really sweet! Neve is gonna have to compete really hard for a spot on the team. Emmrich and Lucanis look sooooo good :p
@greenbrownblue You're welcome and I agree, Emmrich and Lucanis.😍
the person on the ground with the green in them is most likely Harding as she was right there and we know she gets magical powers but as a dwarf thats not normal... looking around the scenes varric started to back up and before we get the shot where we see Rook, varric was already gone.. he might still die.. or be hurt.. or just be too old to adventure at this point .. they also said you might be able to romance a skeleton.. maybe its Varric lmao
The one time fan girls get to kiss Varric and it's gonna be a skelton xd I can smell the outrage
@@greenbrownblue i will laugh really really hard after i stop crying
Harding got knocked where Rook is near railing tho away from the steps
@@HyouVizer i know thats how it looks but at the same time Rook doesnt move and theres no railing near them.. im not 100% sure how the space is meant to look but i know that it doesnt look right with rook there either.. i think when i finally get to play it an look around it will make more sense as what we have seen at this time is heavily doctored to not show spoilers
The thing is, with the veil damaged death becomes…less permanent, unless Solas kills him in a way that doesn’t send varric’s soul to the fade. He could easily be killed for cheap shock value and brought back.
Is the Veil gonna be down if we are a part of the Veilguard though :o
I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought that was Varric’s corpse in the background when I said this to my friends the other day they made out like I was insane🤣 it *could* be Bianca but the pale part looks more like Varric’s skintone (his head) than the wooden handle on Bianca. Could just been the green orbs lighting though I guess🤷🏼♀️
Awwww, ok, glad you watched this video then. Seems like there is another person behind the one that's glowing, but I feel the same about the one in the front. The hair seems a bit dark and they don't seem to wear a cloak? Harding is wearing one
5:21 I didn’t catch that when I first listened to it but holy that’s convincing…I definitely feel like Varric will go. Harding never interacts with Solas so it doesn’t apply to him (unless they’ve canonized that Solas was always on the field with the inquisitor but even then..idk)
Yea exactly! :D I think her not knowing him most intimately is what gives this away
Don't even need the accidental spoiler, it's pretty obvious Scout Harding is there to replace him.
Bioware finally gives me the Harding romance ive been wanting since inquisition, but then ruthlessly takes away my Dwarven best friend 😭😭 I can never be truly happy in these games 😭
Awww there are argument pro and against. He might not die at all or maybe late in the game :
Yea I knew it.
We're making scrambeled egg.
I'm only mad that I don't get to press the buttons to do it myself =(
But it's obvious from just what we've seen is that Solas is gonna get bodied as soon as they come out lol.
What did he think he was going to happen he released dudes he trapped for 1000 years? Like seriously. They gonna eat him like he did to Mythal.
Oh no, let the egg 🥚live :
@greenbrownblue I'm still holding out hope that he lives. Solamancer until my last breathe..lol.
@@greenbrownblue I think that they're gonna do to Solas what he did to Mythal. There's a couple of reasons why Solas has to go.
#1. The game changed and he isn't the villain.
#2. They need to establish the new threat by having them casually body the most powerful dude we'd seen in the game up to this point.
#3. Solas established that "god eating" is a possibility in this universe and Mythal's killer deserves to be eaten too.
So now there's the lore reasons why this is gonna happen. Do you remember the paining of the white deer lady with horns that look kinda like tentacles? Hugging a bear with what looks like a half moon over it's head? You remember that imagery? that's probably them. I think it's Ghil and Dirthamen and they've been plotting revenge too.
Solas' main issue is that he's a loner. And you can't do everything by yourself. Even a god needs allies if there's other gods. Solas defeated them by getting them to fight each other but now he's all alone. So they're gonna eat him and take his power like he did to Mythal but some part of me thinks that this is still part of Mythal's plan.
Don't get me wrong, Solas and the rook character seem to be linked in some way that I don't fully understand. So it may be the case that he lives on through an artifact like the blade or some other means.
@@liba My condolences lol
DEF not happy to see Varric might go but Solas killed mama Mythal and he's gotta pay the price.
I wouldn't mind Varric dying, he had a good run until now and it would help set a much needed darker tone for the story. Also I hope Solas doesn't get wasted immediately, because I need my Inquisitor to be the one to give him a beating. Ain't no backstabbing my Inquisitor without consequences. Tho there is definitely a chance he gets pancaked the second the other elven gods appear.
Ah ok, there we go. Been seeing a bit of division in opinions about Varric. Some ppl want the darker tone that his death would set, others don't want Varric to die, ever.
I can't say for sure. But I have a feeling Varric will live or die in that moment depending on how you end the Trespasser DLC. But I'm mostly saying that because I don't want them to kill off Varric damn it lol.
Ngl, would be nice for the previous games to have heavy impact on the story in DAV. Especially since we are gonna be able to use DA Keep before the game is released so we could mess around with different world states
This is not Dragon Age by what I can see. They kill off my boy Varric and it's over between me and Bioware.
If Varric is dead I’m not playing. Period.
What if he dies later in the game :o?
It's part of the plot lol
If varric dosent die I can guarantee the inquisitor does
U KNOW HE DIED FUCK ME 😭😭😭
Awwww we will see :oooo
Matt was talking about Solas and I think he meant “who he was during Inquisition”.
Perhaps ^^ I'm having a feeling it was about either Solas' or Varric's death. When it comes to Solas' death, the trespasser decision wheel at the end made it sound like the inquisition had only 2 choices - talking Solas out or killing him
I said it when I saw the gameplay and I will say it again... If they kill Varric, I will set EA and BW on fire 🔥😡
🚓 lol
Part of a good script is knowing when a character should die, if varric dies, in fact I see it as a quite right decision on the part of the scriptwriters, it's about time, although it will be too sad.
@@AM-nb8me I am a petty b*tch. I would not let my Alistair sleep with the witch so I rather gave my life to defeat the dragon. Don't get me wrong, I am up for a good death. But not unnecessary one of MY DEAR FRIEND.
TBH, if he dies I will quit the game for some time for sure
Varric and solas will be sucked into the fade, duh
Hmmm Varric is most likely all the way at the bottom of the stairs, but if they both got trapped in the black city it would be crazy interesting
@@greenbrownblue Imagine If we could only save one of them...
@@momoom2915 Solas every time
@@greenbrownblue Same xD and i think my theory is half right o.o
whoops 🤭
Says everybody at Bioware rn :p
