    I'm a long term Ketamine Infusion patient for central nervous system and nerve damage. It is a life saver for me. I highly recommend them. In Australia the protocol is a lot different. I have 7 day inpatient Ketamine Infusions and magnesium Infusions. Every 4 months 6 years. Had few PICC direct but too much scar tissue. Now I have Subcutaneous more gentle on liver.
    Before I was bed ridden unable to be vertical, seizures. Now I can drive part time and travel. I probably wouldn't be here without them.

      I've had in-patient five-day IV ketamine infusions for peripheral neuropathy, and it's been so effective, much better at reducing the pain than the out-patient IV lidocaine infusions the previous seven years.

      I have a condition called Adhesive arachnoiditis which is scar tissue within a membrane of the spinal cord and brain. My nervous system and lymphatic system is damaged. And you popped up in my thoughts and so I figured I'd watch a few of your videos that I've saved in my "boost my depressed mood" UA-cam folder... and I've actually landed a live video! Awesome!

    I fell last year, broke myself & had emergency surgery. The anesthesiologist used ketamine and, allegedly, I hallucinated x 3 days. I say allegedly because the main character of my supposed hallucinations was the voice of my covert familial abuser screaming my name. I wondered if they had fallen too and by some freak twist of fate, also ended up in the hospital across the hall from my room. (Hey, crazier things have happened, esp where this person is concerned.) I inquired as to why she was there and what had happened but she would not give consent for her information. This tracks. Because of this covertly abusive, serial gaslighter, I am a grown adult who cannot trust my own thoughts or feelings. My nurse at the time, as well as the head nurse, days later, both swore she wasn't there, although my nurse seemed to acknowledge my suspicion by denying her presence with a "wink-wink, nudge-nudge" twinkle in his eye & tone of his voice. It was a Twilight Zone kind of experience. I know medical staff can't legally disclose info but can they lie to (and blatantly gaslight) one patient just to protect another patient's privacy? Surely not. This was too real, too vivid, & so specific. It was a mind bending experience that I never want to repeat. I'm still trying to piece my brain back together. There's so much more to it but to be safe, I'm adding "no ketamine" to my medical alert bracelet. No ketamine, no gaslighting & NO pathological narcissists.

    Doc do you do a "talking session" prior or during the infusion? I am struggling to find any information on how simply going in having 4-6 infusions and poof depression chronic is healed. How without addressing the core issues prior or during, does the brain know which needs help editing? Not exactly sure how to ask the question, hoping you understand what I'm getting at. So grateful for learning. ❤

    I only weigh 120 pounds but I have the fastest metabolism in the world because of my ultrarapid metabolizer gene. There’s no one else like me. If there was just some way to turn off the CY1A2 gene then I’d would do it! Pain management is awe full after surgery because the meds wear off too quickly and then I just start gripping about wanting to just go home and deal with the pain there. It’s so damn frustrating! I got hit by a car and had compartment syndrome so my leg was almost amputated. I had a lot of surgeries but I have never done the harder drugs unless it was in a hospital.

My leg was fuzzy and numb for a few days. It's called an ON-Q pain pump. I wonder if something like that would give you more relief. I couldn't imagine not having it! I wish I could get Ketamine therapy, I have severe PTSD, I woke up February 12, 2016 and found my 33 year old daughter passed away at my bedside. She was my first born and my only daughter. I have MS and she was my caregiver she was my heart and I miss her. I still have to sleep in the same room where she passed away, so I have trouble sleeping too. I'm sorry, but I don't think throwing Zoloft at a person and telling them they need to get over it is proper treatment, and besides, the Zoloft has never worked for me, and I'm on the highest dosage. February 12th isn't far off and I'm already experiencing the dread over that date.😭

I’ve been getting epidural steroid shots but they aren’t really helping plus I have fibromyalgia & neuropathy that I have been taking gabapentin, duloxetine, pregabalin & diclofenac sodium for several years but still live with chronic pain!! • @sawyer33
    @sawyer33 6 місяців тому

    I’m in a very dark place and I went from living with anxiety and depression and my life was not ok but I wasn’t really suffering. Out of nowhere something happened at the beginning of this year and I am not the same person. Like a switch got flipped and everything just changed. I’m now thinking about my life being possibly near it’s conclusion. I suffer like you couldn’t even imagine and I can’t even articulate anymore. I’m set up to get ketamine from a clinic with an ER doctor which you seem to like but she does IM which you don’t seem to like and I’m already terrified. I couldn’t walk into your clinic because I am usually too afraid to go out except occasionally when i spontaneously seem to feel better which only happens from time to time. This doctor I am seeing seems to checks all the boxes you’ve said to look for in a doctor/clinic but I still am absolutely terrified because how do you really ever know for sure? I am all alone and have no support system. I’m so scared to go through this but I’m so bad right now I can’t imagine any other way out. I wish that I even knew a doctor like you but I don’t. Most of your videos are helpful but others make me even more scared. I feel like you’d know what to do to fix me even if the ketamine didn’t work as well as expected. I wish I could live in a world where one Ativan a day even helped me. I was on 4 1mg Xanax a day and when I suddenly got worse I, for the first time in my life, felt like I needed more and more. They now switched me to 10mg of diazepam 4x times a day (which is basically half the dose I was used to and I find diazepam to hit me much more subtly). So on top of everything else I’m now in my darkest place and dealing with the difficult physical and psychological issues that come with a massive reduction in medication and the kind of medication. I just feel like you could help me fix all of this and if you even saw my message and offered to help me (I know it would never happen), I couldn’t get to you even if you took care of everything. The clinic I’m going to is less than 2 miles away and the doctor is picking me up because I’m too scared to use an Uber on most days. I really wish that you would see this and want to talk to me but that won’t happen either. I just don’t want to suffer anymore and I believe you could definitely help me to survive. 🥺

    • @heatherkaye8653
      @heatherkaye8653 8 місяців тому

      Sirry so long, but its good stuff! It is helpful, but with some limits. I suggest you to look up this pub med article: "Ketamine for Bipolar Depression: Biochemical, Psychotherapeutic, and Psychedelic Approaches" It explains many benefits and limits to ketamine therapy for bipolar with reference to some interesting case studies. The conclusion at the bottom isn't too filled with much science jargon either so it's fairly easy to understand. The most notable takeaways for me were if you have addiction issues it's harder to find a doc who will want to do this treatment. Bipolar has many commonalities with Complex PTSD which ketamine has been shown to be a very effective treatment. And finally ketamine won't permanently "cure" bipolar brains, but treatments will need to be repeated to maintain that steady brain. Now my personal experience of my recent ketamine experience: ketamine's effect lasted just about 2 months before the um "moodiness" came back. It has been 3 months now, I'm short tempered, but feel more 'even'... life's really hard right now and I've not had any thoughts of how much easier it might be if I were just unalived. So I guess it's still helping.

      I was extremely worried about this because I had a horrible trip on mushrooms a long time ago. It was absolutely nothing like that for me and even though I went to some dark difficult places, it was super powerful and really really really good. I never felt scared although I felt very vulnerable afterwards so it was important for me to have someone I trusted by my side afterwards. I have been doing the IM injections, I did the initial six and now I’m doing them every three weeks and my deep, depression and anxiety has started to lift for the first time in my life and I have tried everything. I feel like it’s a miracle. Of course I’m also doing the work with my therapist, which is so important. Also the place I go to starts you on a very low dose and they split it in half so they give you the first injection then come in 10 minutes later take your vital signs and if they are good, they give you the next part of the injection.from there, they could work with you to figure out the right dose. It has just worked well for me.

      The gas is probably laughing gas. You’re awake, but don’t really care. Like you could answer questions and hear the doctor, but it feels really distant. I did laughing gas for my wisdom tooth removal and I loved it. I always joke of laughing gas became available illicitly I may become and addict 😆 In all seriousness, the best way I can explain it that feeling coming out of a deep sleep? Like you hear what the question is, but your brain just isn’t computing very well. I remember I had to think about my toes and where they were on my body to be aware of them. It was a nice experience to be honest. They numb you like any other dental procedure so you don’t feel pain. Liquid anesthesia varies. You can be semi conscious with the same effects as the gas, it just takes a little longer to wear off so you can go home. I doubt they’ll fully sedate you in the traditional sense because it’s harder to protect your airway while they’re in your mouth, but same as the gas most likely. Sedated enough that you can protect your own airway, but whatever is going on around you is a non-issue in your brain. Like the lights are in but no one is home lol. Hope that helped a little?

    I had my first experience with Ketamine last week. I was in the ER needing a cyst to be drained and I was having a lot of anxiety over it. They gave me a single shot of ketamine through an IV and used numbing cream on the cyst. The nurse talked to me about my dog to get my mind in a better headspace and stayed by my side while the doctor took care of my cyst. It was definitely a weird feeling. I just remember staring at the ceiling and still being anxious, but feeling completely out of it. I didn’t feel a thing when they sliced open my cyst. I don’t know if that was from the topical lidocaine or the ketamine or both. I gave both the dr and the nurse a huge hug when it was over as I was coming back to reality from it. I was so grateful to them for making it a painless experience, but at the same time, I didn’t enjoy the weird way the ketamine made me feel. It was better than feeling pain, though. Then I was told not to drive or go to work for 24 hours.

    Do you remember or know if you're crying out or talking during a deep ketamine session? I've had 5 and although I did have convo's in my head I don't think they were audible. My cptsd history is not something I'd like known. Even attempting to speak and relay them completely locks my voice box no matter who I'm speaking to and while I'm able to rethink those memories actually verbalizing them would be very embarrassing. Would my Anesthesiologist have told me? He did remark that I was a very strong person but would he have said more and/or does the patient know or remember what they say?

    At 1:30 - Personally, this is why I'll probably never get ketamine (or psilocybin, etc., should that become a thing) in a medical context. Having a medical setting be "homey" is better than the alternative, but it's fundamentally a high-stress environment. Given what I know of myself and what we know of the importance of set & setting, this is the wrong way to do it.

    Having vestibular schwannoma (size med to large) and tegman defect surgery. After 16 years of unilateral facial numbness and cold, tongue and cheek biting, choking on spit, bubbly noise in head to finally get listened to. Well, only after adding frequently falling, jerking, slurring. Added vision issues (inexplicable black spot in vision) and now constant headache over eye. Still mystery. None seem to care about vision and headache. Lifetime being called hypochondriac. Oh well...we will see if I wake up still able to work. Job? Medical coder, interventional radiology & pain management specialty (started in anesthesia coding, 26 years ago) lol. Hobby? Wood carving and painting. Could Ketamine help my situation? PTSD? fear of upcoming pain? Joint replacements history inadequate pain relief due opioid laws? Also like an elephant, hard to put to sleep and stay down. Remember whole conversations far into and early out of anesthesia.

      All the research I can find is that doctors are obviously leary with using any drug that could bought in the street fir an addicted person, but there are a handful of smaller studies that really ponit out the benefits of using ketamine in conjunction to other therapies for getting over those main hurdles of addiction. Granted every single person is incredibly unique in biochemistry and thought patterns.. But from what I have researched, when doctor lead it can be incredibly beneficial even fir addicts- but just be honest with yourself and rhe doctors. I've fallen into a research rabbit hole on ketamine the past 2 months after my first experience with it in the emergency room. For reference I'm a research nerd with a masters degree in Chinese medicine and acupuncture.

    Well I live in Maine and have suffered😢from PTSD & anxiety from a terrible childhood of sexual and neutral abuse, and I can te😢you up up here they would NEVER consider this natural type of therapy! Instead I'm stuck with a therapist and a psychiatrist who prescribes clonazepam, Gabapentin, antidepressants ((which I refuse to take) as I've repeatedly told my doctor I'm not depressed, I have severe anxiety! Aside from that, I spent a year trying every antidepressant imaginable and had
    horrible side effects! So my question is what can you suggest for me to find a program like thus? P.S. I have had experience with LSD and ketamine in my younger years and can honestly say it was the happiest care free emotional times I ever experienced. And this was during difficult times I mentioned above!

I'm still taking Venlaflaxina and alprazolam and I have the feeling of being in the vórtice of a hurricane that might hit me up again at any moment, it's terrifying. I talked about this with my psychologist and psychiatrist and they say it's an expected feeling after such strong crisis.

Isso a menos que você recorra à via administrativa ou à via judicial, porque o uso de cetamina como antidepressivo aqui ainda é off-label pela Anvisa. Eu atualmente faço tratamento no hospital universitário da minha cidade. Desejo melhoras pra você!
