Amazing tutorial, as always! Can't wait to try out these lighting tricks on my own designs. Lighting is an area I've been meaning to learn more about, so the timing was perfect ☺
wow, amazing characters! though I know some basics of lighting and 3-point-lighting, seen tons of vids and tuts, not in photography or studio lighting, you simply and perfectly break it down, overview and 2 beautiful applications: atmosphere, spending mood, highlight the details. awesome
I considered myself as skilled at Blender 3D work and the first tip made me feel like a beginner... I forget that the real world size of 3D objects actually affects things like lighting
I would suggest possibly watching channels about table-top miniatures. Shouldn't take long to find the ones that are about painting & detailing their models.
@@Jadebones Yeah thanks I've seen some of those ones. I have access to a resin printer so that's probably similar to what I'll be making. It's nice seeing blender users experiences with 3d printing too
It's weird gow the software can affect characters. I was only happy with maya mental ray for my characters :) ie 1 ambient light and a few spotlights I find blender cyclesr has a slightly weird look to it, ie flattens out the form too much. hard to describe what is going on technically
is it ok to lighetn your character just with HDRI, and not bothering with additional light sources? in my experience it looks not very good, but should i bothering with positioning my lights? Is it possible that hdri might be enough to present my character in decent manner?
@@grabbitt i don't understand, if i put HDRI outdoor environment, why should i add additional light sources, it is not physically coorect, I saw how pepople add sun when they already added HDRI and as a result we have many strange shadows.. And when its comes to animation, how should i do? For example when my character is walking forward, should i move my additional light sourses near the character? I i don't know what to think about it, do you know the answer to these questions?
@@alexvisart1016 It's the make certain shadows stand out more for a specific effect. Or it's to add complexity to a scene. But it's really up to you to add more lights to a scene or not. Think of it as adding the final cherry on top. Some people decide they like it and others decide they don't like it.
Love that wolverine sculpt!!
Your tutorials are always so helpful and lighting is something I struggle with. I can’t wait to watch this!
I have always struggled with lights but with this video my path is a bit easier now. Again Thanks for this video.
Was waiting in anticipation for this tutorial. It didn’t disappoint as expected. Superb delivery as usual! Love your teaching style.

i built my pc on pc specialist but I did some guesswork on some items I picked. i will be happy to hear more about an ideal setup for blender😉
This is outstanding. Full of excellent useful information, as always.

Guy got sponsored, given a free Product and did a back flip, changes to an all cycles tutorial, and went unhinge.
You don't have to watch my videos. You seem annoyed with me for some reason??
Wow that wolverine turned out great. Do you plan on 3D printing any of your busts? I know I am going to struggle with painting 3D prints
Might well do👍🙂

Anyone know any tips to improve the lips while sculpting I keep getting the wrong shape.
It does take time with lips. See my creating lips tutorial

It can be but you have more control with lights

I am using a mac for Blender with M1 64GB, and using Cycle to render does take a lot of time.. should I switch off to PC?
An rtx is better than the M1 currently
@@grabbitt thanks for the kind reply! 👍 always appreciate your dedication to the community!
why is there no texture painting video ? :((((

How to sculpt the beard and hair like your Wolverine sculpt 😪
it seems like he used the same method as he did in this video: ua-cam.com/video/Dg39SziB5jM/v-deo.html , but i might be wrong
Coming in the next video
Did you do a tutorial on how you did Wolverine?
Released today
You spoiled the wolverine ( he's kinda looks like )
Spoiled how?
@@grabbitt well we've only seen the sketches and before the sculpting video theres the character spoiled 😃
