@@hauntological Perhaps it reminds them of some simpler 80s songs? Its melodic structure is very similar to Warrant's Cherry Pie -- a song which that same band came to loath and consider awfully commercial and generic
@@gorofujita5767Filmstar will always have a special place in my heart. First Suede track I heard as a boy. I definitely wouldn’t call it filler, though it may be “weaker” than the rest of the album.

@@qwertyu6744 Not sure really. The press wrote that years ago. Perhaps they didn't feel the love from US audiences, quite like they did at home. I've heard some UK artists say the US lot were tough nuts to crack.

Flavour of the moment and every instagram “LAD” idol Liam Gallagher has no material to release so he’s touring his brothers album , Anyone old enough in the 90s to have seen suede etc your lucky , imagine being a Gen Z and thinking 1975 are rock n roll 😂

Filmstar is much weaker than the rest though, and could be easily deemed filler
