He earned that skill. It’s all hard work. I watched his video about how he got to his level, and it was months and ysars straight of playing at least 8 hours a day and having that passion and love for music and, yeah, you get such talent. Well done to him. He’s a phenomenal musician.

I love these short 1 minute videos. Lets you have some fun, play with ideas, rock out with a cool riff you've been noodling with, not needing to stress about working it into a full length "real" song. It's perfect just the way it is.
My band mates bought me this pedal for my 21st birthday (15yrs ago 😑), it is indeed fun. I understand why YTimK uses two of them together, it's great with overdrive.

the combination of technique, melody and feel is outstanding. I am into bass for a long time and nobody plays like you, even Wooten or other guys, for me you are creating whole new level and page of bass playing. I would say Charles is an classical playing, style, learning type of bass player wooten instead is kind of an natural gifted crazy harmonics type of bass player. I like both very much, Charles needs a band like vulfpack or something.
There's honestly an incredible amount of creative nuance in this one. More than purely playing fast, the application of so many different techniques in such a musical way! I genuinely think this is a step above @Davie504 's skill

There's a lot to respect in that. Charles is an example of that rare top-level talent mixed with lots of hard work. Few people can reach Charles' level no matter how hard they try. I think Davie's actually a better UA-cam entertainer than Charles, although his audience is a bit different. You might not appreciate his act, but millions of others do.
A few things I love about this channel: 1) how inadequate it makes me feel as a bass player 2) Charles’ humbleness 3) the fact that his name is Charles. Such a bass player’s name. Side note: and he’s better than Davie.

Often bands aren't looking for chops like this. In Charles's defence, despite playing some killer licks he really respects the artists he plays alongside in the videos I've seen where he does so, but nonetheless it would need to be the right setup that showcases his talents without him outshining everyone else in the band - what major established band is going to want him to do that?

I’m not even REMOTELY as good as Charles, but a wah was the first pedal I bought and one that felt perfectly adequate being alone on the pedalboard for quite some time. Highly recommended. I’ve been a drummer for far long than I’ve been playing string instruments, but I think that it also helps quite a lot with independence, as you sometimes have to “play” the pedal at a different pace than what you’re doing with your hands.
That was something very special my friend. The level of collaboration between your mind and your heart is profound and extra unique. Basically, this sounds is amazing and anyone that truly listens should be movin and grooving by the end of this short clip and having a new desire to experience an extended version . Back in the days when I used to a bass solo spot I used a wah. I was never good at slap but the wah kinda made it sound cooler when I threw in a few bars during my solo.

Back in the days when I used to a bass solo spot I used a wah. I was never good at slap but the wah kinda made it sound cooler when I threw in a few bars during my solo.
