There was video of the baht bus fall . The man was facing opposite to direction of travel and stepped off the back causing his body to continue in the direction of the BB , fall backwards and his head hit the pavement .
i was on a baht bus on 2nd road and a ferang stood up on back..very casually looking around.changing is hands ...within a split second he had fell off the bus...near soi 7...and new plaza...very very lucky no other vehicle was close ,behind us ...that was february 2024.....he hit the road and a few people rushed too is aid....he was pretty fit guy .and seamed to bounce back up ...he was in the lap of the gods for a few seconds...as the gap between our bus and the one behind was 100metres..and the traffic lights were on red slowing all traffic down too 5/10 km per hour...i allways sit down now on baht bus ever since...

I think that poor baht bus driver is being made a scapegoat because it is a Hong Kong policeman...He doesn't deserve to be compensated by the driver for his own stupidity...
The baht bus to Jomtien refuses to leave from their stand on 2nd Road unless there are at least 2 people standing on the frame at the back and all seats are occupied.

If so, he's broken the first rule of his own well being. I too have tried to clamber on board baht buses at the last second and as they've accelerated away I've fallen off, but managed to remain upright (most of the time😆) personally I don't think the bus operator should be held accountable for someone's clumsiness/lack of coordination or possible blatant avoidance of paying the said fare of B10.
Alcohol is legal , despite the troubles it causes , yet pot is illegal and causes literally no trouble such as violence or overdoses . Seems like any drug that opens the mind is made illegal for that reason only . Just my opinion 😊

I have been walking around Pattaya looking at some of the new developments (getting 10,000 steps per day). It appears to me that almost ALL the new devepments are aimed at Thai, Indian or Chinese customers. The official Thai tourism statistics clearly demonstrate that western (i.e. US, Canadian, Western European, Aussi and Kiwi) numbers are not significant compared to Chinese, Russian and Indian numbers especially. Granted, this website is aimed at Western customers; however, it appears that we are a minority. And, it sure seems that way in many areas of Pattaya; which are nearly entirely Russian, Indian, Chinese and, of course, Thai with few western Farangs to be seen..
Tim Newton just gave the latest statistical figures for foreign arrivals by country. India, Russia, Taiwan, Malaysia, S. Korea and Vietnam lead, and for long hauls, the U.S. was around 3rd. The UK wasn't # 1 long haul.

The initial reporting that the Baht Bus driver "sped off" is inaccurate. In the video you can see that the Baht Bus maintains a constant rate of speed throughout the incident. The driver doesn't appear to notice anything, and his behavior was consistent with his statement of not knowing anyone was onboard. It looks like the passenger chose to get off a moving Baht Bus and met with tragedy. I can't see that the driver has any case to answer for.

Keep in mind 99%+ of vapes sold in Thailand come from China and are not regulated (or even legal I guess) and who knows what poisons are being put in them to cut a penny here and penny there. It's hard to see in the blurred out video, but it looks like he hit his head on the railing/bumper. That can easily be enough to cause death.
