Ok, the writers knew that Linda would change her mind. The writers baited us. But Linda did not bait us.
The character did think the couple wasn't going to make it. However, that wasn't a twist in the plot, it was not a "turns out" moment. It was a "you thought" + kept thinking moment. As a viewer, you keep seeing that through a biased lens.
There are several long bait and switches mentioned in the link.
    Phenomenal video as always.

Wow, can't believe this video has such low views, I find it to be an excellent explanation of bait-and-switch, as well as some other writing tropes, with very good examples of how to do them well. Genuinely shocked you haven't even broken a thousand as of time of writing

1:25 "A bait and switch gives you AND expectation..." I'm smart.

You also meant "insightful," not "inciteful," unless that episode incited something I didn't hear about... sorry

My immediate thought with the butterflies was "oh my god are they referencing the season 10 finale of rupaul's Drag race???" Only to realize this came out literally a couple months before that episode aired, I'm stunned

Nice video, but the bait and switch, for those two people that haven't heard of it, could've been explained in three sentences, too many examples. But besides that - very good.

@@davescripted3796 Personally, I really enjoy it when video essays give examples of how other pieces of media does what you're talking about in question, even if it's something as simple as this.

maybe the show isn't made for me but Bob's Burger is a show I just cannot stand, it's like so boring and simply not funny.
I really wanna see someone make a video explaining where the funny is, I'm honest I wanna understand why people think it's a good show.
Like people can make reviews and video essays on why Breaking Bad is the best thing ever made and even if you'd watch it and didn't like the show, the videos can make you appreciate the effort you didn't see when you first watched it.
