This Annunciation, painted by Sandro Botticelli around 1489-1490 and housed in The Uffizi Gallery in Florence, is a masterpiece of gestures and gazes, in which the Virgin manifests feelings ranging from surprise to acceptance of the announcement, to awareness of the future Passion and Death of Christ.
