Very cool playing with “Toast”….Best of Bread was a cassette we used for our date nights when I was in college…LOL!
They are lucky to have you Rich!
Let us know about the gear you use once you get going!
Was in a Spinal Tap tribute band called Nasal Drip. Our greatest hits album we called Post.
I wish you a happy new year and I look forward to more videos in 2024. Greetings Pavel Czech Republic.👍👍👍
Congrats Rich. Love old Bread👍
Congratulations Rich. I'll have to go back and listen to Bread songs. And, I'll check out Toast!
Congrats. You will be awesome, can’t wait to see the progress and tunes!!
Congrats Rich , You certainly deserve it , Hope 2024 is wonderful for you and your family.❤☮👍
Congratulations! The Bread gig sounds like you get to travel light, which is something really desirable at a certain stage. So many bands I’ve never really given much thought to have made their way to my set lists and I’m starting to believe if you spent enough time listening to the radio as a kid like I did, it’s in your DNA. The Kotzen Tele should do the job and then some. The hardest part of that gig for me would be tuning down, I tune down for no one- lol. I’ve become a fan of your content because of the honest way you’ve represented the life of a gigging musician. All the work that goes into stuff nobody ever sees- the travel, load in/out, equipment issues, the list can go on. Happy healthy and successful New Year to you and yours!
Thanks! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Rich!
Good luck on the tour!
Great new. Congratulations Rich. Happy New Year 🎉
Congrats on the new gig man. That's awesome. Happy New Year!
Congrats look forward to hearing you with Toast in 2024 🎶🎸🎵🤘
Great news, congratulations Rich! Enjoy the tour!!!
Congrats Rich🎉 Brett, Ken, John, and Troy are great guys! Hope to meet you too! 👍🏻🎸
Thanks!
It will Be Cool To See Your Take on the Guitar Man Solo )))
I saw him play it with Toast tonight, brought the house down!
Hey Rich, so dang proud you. I’ve got my tickets for Toast at Woods Cross High! I’m really excited to see you in this incredible band. Love ❤everything you do and videos!
Thanks Orrin!
Happy New Year, Rich. The Tele is good. I might also consider that SG over your shoulder for “Guitar Man” and “Look What You’ve Done”. I imagine HX Stomp could be programmed to emulate the modulation sound during “If”.
Bread is not one of my faves, but I .Ike their music and don’t retreat when I hear it. Furthermore, David Gates (who also wrote the Monkees deep cut “Saturday’s Child”) was (along with Leon Russell) a classmate of my good friend Jim’s sister at Will Rogers High School in Tulsa.
Happy New Year Rich. I often watch your gig vlogs while I'm packing my own gear to head out to play, so thanks for all the videos this year.
That's cool. Thanks!
Again congrats Rich. So stoked for you. The only Bread song I know is Guitar Man. My Pops is a huge fan of them. Can’t wait to see some vlogs with these guys. Maybe try your HSS Strat!
I thought of that one as well, the Strat.
Way to go man! It’s always fun getting new opportunities!
Awesome Rich congrats looking forward to seeing the footage of the gigs! Happy New Year.. finally your guitar skills have been recognised! I have heard of the Band Toast and know your going to have a very busy 2024… enjoy!🙂
Happy new year!
Happy New Year to you and family and congratulations on getting the Bread gig.
Bread and David Gates were my late aunts favourites.
When they used to tour the uk she would drag my uncle along to see them mainly at the Fairfield Hall venue in Croydon .
I look forward to your 2024 gig vlogs 👍
Give that son of yours a decent amp to practice with in his bedroom 😳👍🤣
Congrats man!
Great news on your new gig! Keep it simple and use an Esquire, switch to 11's, simple pedalboard, good tuner and make sure the monitors or in ears are good. Happy new year from Skelmersdale Lancashire England!
Thanks!
I like The Bread...so please be Nice 😄
Happy New Year then... 🥳
Good deal Rich- keep moving fwd into 2024 amigo!!
David Gates was one super talented dude. To cover him/Bread is no easy feat. Watch him live and see how effortlessly he plays and sings, and how he does it so well.
Live the dream, brother! Congratz!!!
Appreciate it!!
Congrats on the new gig!!
I have a Carvin electric that has a Fishman piezo bridge, it does a pretty decent job of sounding like an acoustic live. May be easier to go with something like the Fishman power bridge on one of your electrics for your acoustic needs.
I’d look at the Fractal FM3 or 9 as well for a pedalboard amp/effects setup. Small, easy to carry and sounds great live.
Awesome
Rich- do what the heart needs amigo and that good energy will shine-whatever gig that is with whoever and however big or small. Blessings into 2024!!
Thanks!
De nada amigo!
Check out a Used Boss AC-3 ACOUSTIC SIMULATOR like $70. Love your channel and thanks for all the information and music!
Hi Rich, I wish you all the best in New Year, your channel is my favorite YT channel 🙂
A props down-tuning, why don't to you try to use a Digitech Drop pedal ?
I'm using it a lot, no latency, perfect tracking, no hassle 🙂
You don't need to change anything - string gauge, way of playing etc...
David Gates was a big Tele player. You're the man Rich!!
Congratulations Rich! A end of year TOAST to you and maybe in 2024 you will actully be making more BREAD and butter.
I'd probably go with 11s in Eflat and it'll feel more like 10s in standard. Best of luck in the new gig. That's a good gig
Thanks!
Bread has some great songs. They are definitely on the softer side most of the time but then you hit Mother Freedom and all bets are off. I was a little kid as their career was winding up but I was exposed by my older siblings.
Cool!
Take the SG to the gig, light weight and a heavy hitter, plus it's a blues machine,I would just take it as an extra, think it can handle the tuning, yep get 10s super happy for you man, butter that toast Rich.😂👍
Henceforth you will be known as Mr Bojangles
Get R Done, Rich
Rich, or anyone that owns a Richie Kotzen Signature series Telecaster. Have you taken a look and the pots in that guitar and if so are they 250K or 500K or some other value?
I haven't looked, but a Google search came back with someone saying they are 250.
Yes I have already explored that. Thanks@@RichBischoff
I tune down to E flat.
Does Dave G drum with you still? I haven’t seen him in a few years.
He moved further south, so we haven't played much since he moved. I think I did 2 shows with him last year.
Soon you'll be rolling in dough 😂
I hope it wasn't a pain to learn the songs (there's another Bread pun in there, but you have to know French to spot it)
Also. Crumbs, chief
Rich, you have so many guitars! After watching every one of your videos in detail, (and keeping in mind you're partial to Teles), I personally think you sounded your very best, using the Swiss Army Knife of guitars......The ES 335! You (without a doubt) were more fluent and seemed more comfortable on it. Guess how man BREAD songs were recorded on one....there's food for thought.
Keep up the outstanding videos my friend, and remember, some of us older guys who started it all, are watching you and smiling....
You posted this comment while I was watching ES 335 vids. Am already debating possibly doing an epiphone ES-335 for the bread stuff.
