I like how you own tools from different battery systems. That's my philosophy too: Buy the best tool and worry about battery system later. Bosch makes great jigsaws and routers. Makita makes a great cordless trim router, saws and drivers and starlock multitool. etc etc
It’s been a great decision I think. I like not being bound to one platform. It does present some challenges or risks, but all in all I’m happy with it since each platform seems to have pros that others don’t. The only platform I missed the boat on was Milwaukee. I would like to have some of their tools at some point.
I notice from your design that you did not incorporate extra battery storage. Also with Ryobi, I have found that the charger needs to be level or mounted on a flat surface. I hung mine up but gravity caused it to loosen while charging. I do like that you use the Bosch 12v drills. I have several but I have problem storing the batteries. Here's another problem I have with Bosch. The 12 & 18v batteries are a real pain to remove from their chargers. Why can't the other brands we use follow the Dewalt chargers where the charger turns off when you remove the battery. All my chargers have a plug in on/off switch that lights up when turned on. Would love to find a long power strip with each plug in having an on and off switch. Great design and love all you Bosch tools.
Thanks for the comment. Strange. I have many extra shelves that allow me to store many batteries. The Ryobi has no problem being mounted vertical on my system. I use it regularly. Sorry to hear that you have had trouble with yours. I love my Bosch 12v drills! I do agree that the 12v batteries are hard to remove. I have to tug pretty hard. The wall side is mounted with 2.5” deck screws that are secured into the 2x4’s behind the drywall. Since the screws must be smaller to attach the cleat on the charging station side I felt it a good idea to glue as well. Hope that helps!

So i know this isn't going to attach to the right video but uh thank you for posting your dewalt makeup video i know you ended up landing on the dewalt but because of the hours of the day that i work on my yard and because of the fact neighbors aren't super close i mean i don't even think they can hear it when i play loud music i'm gonna go with a dewalt also because that's all i have batteries for i'm one of those guys that has only worked with one brand. Mostly because the batteries are so darned expensive I can't ford to buy them unless they're on sale those sixty volt flex batteries woof. It hurts just to think about how much they cost $219.00 as of this comment post.
Great question Tony! The design allows for the battery to slide and lock into the blue case that surrounds the charger, no matter what angle it faces. I think there is a short clip where I slip it in and out.

Was it really necessary to glue the cleats? On the wall side you only have 2 screws and you have 4 screws on each cleat on the cabinet side.

What is the purpose of the approx 1/2” holes on your workbench? I’ve not seen that before.
Great question! Those are called bench dog holes. They assist with clamping and other cool things that can be utilized with those holes.

Great question! I screwed one in. Then adjusted based on eying it and a level if needed for the second one.
