- In this video the old truck gets the interior redone. Seat repaired, gauge needles repainted orange. new dash cover, new carpet, etc. This is the continuation of a video series showing the rebirth of this 1984 Ford F250 4X4 with the 460 engine and C6 automatic transmission.
This is one of the best videos I've seen. You work so quickly and get so much done it gives me the confidence to respray my interior parts to make them look new again. Thank you for posting a video on that amazing truck!
Awesome video! I love seeing people make things took pretty again with some elbow grease instead of spending a ton of money on replacement parts.
Watching this gives me the confidence to go out and try it myself.
I'm you sure you would do a great job!
Man, what an inspiring video. That's great camera work, and also a great job. That shows that you enjoyed it and we enjoyed watching the process. Thumbs up, thanks for posting
Thanks, I am glad you liked it.
Carpet is a dumb move
That's an awesome job! My dad just bought an old bull nose and I've been looking around for replacement interior parts. Yours looks great!
Really nice work. I'm debating some kind of paint resto for the door covers because the sun fade is very bad on my 86.
Testors model paint makes an excellent dayglo orange paint for a fraction of the price
Absolutely NICE WORK !!! Love your clean and organized workshop/garage - reflected here on your interior makeover !!!
That’s gorgeous. Makes me want a bull nose F150.
Thanks for checking it out.
Beautiful work on a beautiful truck. I hope to buy a 1986 F-250 4 wheel drive extra cab with the 6.9 IDI with the Banks turbo on it pretty soon.
💯👍👍👍
Amazing video, wonderful work! Very Inspiring thank you.
Just discovered my '81 still has the original build sheet stuck up under the seat. Awesome, but sadly no way of removing it without destroying it.
Wow man great job! Your a true craftsman!
I appreciate that!
Digg your restoration
My Dad had i think was a F150 about the same time period and had a standard Tranny...was fun as a Kid
This was great to watch. Thank you for the video! I have an 86 F150 and will be following a lot of the same steps you did here to refresh the interior after it gets repainted.
Wow that was a job well done. I have a 1984 Ford F150 custom that I will start to restore soon as well. She needs a lot of work, and hopefully I can get it restored to look like your truck.
Nice job!
I had an 84 Bronco full size. Never did like the dash strip lights along the top or the gauge panel on these years. My Bronco was gone thru by the guy I bought it from. He did this for a living. Used it as a plow vehicle. Had to sell it due to my job moved elsewhere but I wish I had it now. I'm in the woods now. 300' driveway with 2 turn arounds. 700' of plowing.
Yes sir , me too. I make money on some and some I don,"t that I resell ,but I always look at it as I saved another one,!
Do you have the link where you got the upholstery kit?
I thoroughly enjoyed your video sir!
It takes me back to my red and white 86 F150 Lariat. My uncle got er running for me, and all of us worked together to get er painted mint. I miss that old girl.
I have the same truck only RWD
Very interesting video to watch. You are so very skilled and detailed. Thank you for you expert work!
Good advice how to install the dash cover very helpful vidd just got my first f150 bullnose thanks sr 👍🏽
You're welcome, glad it helped. Good luck with yours.
Great video Dick! Really good information!
That turned out really nice. A truck to be proud of
Thank you!
Great video ! How does the original dash pad come off ? Also, the SEM firethorn red, is it flexable? I seen that you painted the door panel armrests. NICE JOB !!!!
If I recall, there were a number of screws around the perimeter. Best thing to do is start looking for them and removing. Any missed ones will become evident. Yes, the paint is flexible to a point. I've used it a number of times and never had a problem. Thanks for watching!
You did an absolutely fantastic job on this vehicle it’s good to see a man that cares about what he does even down to the little needle indicators which to me was a fantastic touch.
Beautiful job!!!! Question on the visors... Did you source later model visors? My 81's don't have the bracket style?
I believe they are stock, they were in the truck when I got it.
I love the truck. Mine is its twin, 81
Beautiful
Steady hands for an old timer. I definitely would have screwed up the speedometer needle
:) Thanks!
What's the paint code on your truck it's beautiful
The paint code is 2E. The delivery ticket calls it Bright Canyon Red but I have also heard it called Light Canyon Red. Thanks for watching!
The coverlay dash cover met your expectations?
Yes, easy to install and looks really good!
The old girl is looking good
Looks great
Surprising how many came without a headliner. They definitely keep you a little bit cooler, but the fabric comes loose PDQ!
I just got the same truck wish you could help me
Well hopefully my videos will help a little. I wish you good luck with your project. Boyd Coddington once said " it's not magic, it's just work" and I agree.
Where did you buy the dash cover from?
It is a Coverlay brand and Rock Auto has about the best price but several sources sell it so you can shop around if you want. I bought mine from Rock Auto www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1984,f-250,7.5l+460cid+v8,1123816,interior,dash+board+cover,1284
I got the same truck and getting cab parts is getting hard i like the idea of just painting the roof same as what youve done
I couldn't help but notice your shirt said sunray on it good video wish I still had my 1980
Really enjoy your video. Just curious about how many days it took you to redo the interior start to finish. It looks awesome
Awesome job & great hints.
Thanks so much!
My gas gauge needle looks exactly like that one.....on "E"🫤
got the same job to do on my 1990 F250 4x4 good vid good job looks great like new
that dome light kinda yellow.
Looks great ! Just did my 88 .
I'm always glad to hear of these old trucks being kept alive.
Great video and tips! Do you think you could do a video on how you repaired the cracked plastic sometime?
its like watching the toy repairman from toy-story work his magic
This is a fantastically made video! No wasted time. Just ALL SUBSTANCE! Completely enjoyed it!!
I have a 1984 Ford F-150 Extended cab and have been so inspired to continue working on it. Great Job brother!
Thanks for watching and for the nice comment.

Hey Great rebuild video, was wondering if you had the video clips of how you took doors apart? I am rebuilding my 1983 ford f100 and this video helped a lot.
Glad it helped. Unfortunately I lost some of my video that I was taking at the time including door panel removal and carpet installation. Sorry about that.
AMAZING VIDEO!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!
You deserve more subscribers
Thanks! I don't know if I deserve them, but I would like to have more :)
@@DickShaw More Thunderbird videos would be welcomed as I have a 55.

The truck looks great, nice to watch someone that appreciates and takes care of his vehicle and is willing to take the time to teach others how to do the same.
Thanks 👍

What size is the shift knob (press on)?
14mm or 16mm?Or something else?
E2TZ-7213-B is the original knob...
Thanks for watching! I don't know about the shift know, I never had mine off.
@@DickShaw much appreciated on the reply and of course, your videos are very informational.

Came out very nice, great informative video. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching.
This was very helpful
Really impressive work
Great video!
Wow. Great video!
Can you please tell where you got the replacement foam at? Do you know a good place to order the finished vinyl cover?
Hello, Thanks for the kind comments and watching this video. I did not replace the original seat foam but rather added 1 inch of dense upholstery foam on top that I picked up from our local upholstery supply shop. By vinyl cover, if you're talking about the dash cover, Coverlay sells them in many different colors. Look at their website.
@@DickShaw thank you much for the reply!
@@DickShaw I was talking about the cover for the Seat. Mine needs full replacement.
@@RockyTopSplash Oh, sorry I misunderstood you. I did not replace my seat upholstery, what you see in the video is the original. I just replaced one panel on the driver's side which had a small tear in it. You can get one from LMC Truck though. www.lmctruck.com/interior/seats
I agree one of the best videos I have seen great content and camera positions
Thanks so much!
That truck came out gorgeous!
Thank you!
Awesome work. Looks great
Thank you!
Impressive
Thanks!
I came for just the seat upholstery but the effort you gave on the entire restore kept me for the entire video wanting more! Great video. Really enjoyed it and sub to the channel. Look forward to following all you do. Truck looks awesome!
