I’m scared of rollercoasters not because I think I’m going to die, but because the wait and sheer intimidation from the coaster makes me feel endless anxiety and question everything I’ve ever done

I have always been terrified of upside down rides and just went on my very first one a few days ago. The instant regret at the start is probably the worst part but once your thrown into the loop you hardly have time to even comprehend what’s happening before it’s over. It looks a lot scarier then it actually is and I definitely recommend trying one!

Honestly Loops are a lot easier than drops. If you close your eyes on a loop you won’t even notice that you went upside down. All you feel is a little pressure pushing down on your body but nothing to uncomfortable. Like in the video keeping your head back always helps!

I don't have much experience with positive Gs, which are the kind that push down on you. so I probably wouldn't like it at this point. I want to get use to them by going down, then up a hill really fast, first. 🙂 because of the fact that you're upside down for a moment, I would think that loops make stronger positive Gs, then doing it the regular way.

@@mayganphynix8267 You really don’t feel like you’re upside down. I ended up “going big” for my first coaster. It was a B&M inversion coaster and it had a few large loops. You are going so fast, you blow right through the loops, you barely have time to notice it. The loops are my favorite part and I normally hate positive gs. Like the drop being the worst part, the rest being awesome (including the loops.)

My first upside down ride was a carnival ride that chucks you backwards and forwards upside down. I told my self I could never go on an upside down roller coaster and yet I did! It was like a tiny loop but it gave me so much confidence and your words from your older videos helped me get Through it and I ended up loving it. Thanks so much for being awesome and stay safe x

As soon as he started talking about comparing people to yourself I started to cry bc I have been scared of rides my whole life and every time I chicken out my dad points out a younger kid and says “that kid is younger than you and they’re riding it” I’ve also always been made fun of in my family because of my fear so when I did my first roller coaster it was such a relief knowing that I’m not going to be made fun of and your videos are really helping me prepare for the thunderbird in my local park (holiday world) my dad offered $50 for me to ride it and I’ve only ever rode one roller coaster thank you for helping people overcome these fears it means a lot ❤😊

I love that this video has 0 dislikes even though it's been posted a year ago. I've been thinking about going on a looping roller coaster again lately.
According to my birth father, I loved going on them. When I grew up, I became fearful of them. My birth father tried to coax me into going on them, reminding me every time that I used to love them. And when I refused to go onto the ride, he'd say that I've become a coward and he'd compare me to younger kids who did go onto the ride.
Small children often don't perceive danger as well as older kids do, so they haven't made the connection that loopings can be scary to people.
I still don't like those water log rides that have a big drop. I absolutely hate how it became a family tradition to go on one every time we visit a theme park. All because as a small child I got drenched on one and my mom had to dry me under a hand dyer in the toilets (this was before they placed free drying boots near the attraction). The one we always went on was the Ripsaw Falls in Slagharen, the second drop I hate (also the noise of it being pulled up on the track and it speeding down makes my fear worse). The one is Walibi is cool though, it has 2 dips for the large one and that actually reduces that plummeting feeling in your gut by having that quick pause in between dips.

Dude I love that you have videos about tips to overcome fear and then you have videos of you just enjoying yourself on coasters.
I have been on a couple coasters could never do an inversion though. I have a vertigo issue so don't know if that would make it worse.

    • @AdventuresWithAlex
      @AdventuresWithAlex  4 роки тому

I appreciate you saying that! Hopefully there will be some more videos of me on coasters here somewhat soon. I don't know what it's like to have vertigo issues but I'll try to provide any assistance that I can! I think it definitely depends on the coaster. I've been on coasters with inversions that are smooth as butter but then there are others that are jerky and rough.
If you were to ever test it, I'd recommend trying a newer coaster than an older style as they've learned to work out the kinks of creating a smooth ride for passengers. On top of it being a newer coaster, definitely go for one with as few inversions as possible and save it for the last ride of the day so if you do get thrown out of wack then you're whole visit isn't ruined.
Personally, this is just how I would go about trying it if i were in your shoes. Do what you're comfortable with!

Went to Carowinds with a few friends of mine. I haven't ridden a rollercoaster since I was like 9 or 10 (I'm 33 now). They convinced me to ride some rides with them. Started with the Flying Cobras and worked up the courage to end the night with a ride on Intimidator and Fury 325. It was absolutely worth the absolute terrified feeling I had the entire wait in every line. The worst experience I had was riding the Gold Rusher. Freaking bumpiest and worst ride because I'm too tall.

You can totally do it! If you get there and you’re too scared to go on, I’d say try riding corkscrew first to get over that initial fear of going upside down! It’s a shorter ride and not so tall but be warned that it will feel a bit rough. Raptor will be MUCH smoother than corkscrew. Then Rougarou is also a good option. Maybe a good in between coaster to ride after corkscrew and before raptor.

This is how they make people have good posture make it so it feels like the back is breaking until they get of the ride or slow down

I'm very scared to go on an invertion coaster. But on the other hand I kinda want to get on it. What should I do? Should I just overwin my fear and just go in or still wait? I'm soon 14 years old.
(If I wanted to go on my first coaster, I kinda wanna go on the Python from the Efteling. It has small loops (4 invertions though) but it doesn't look intense.)

The best thing you can do is just push yourself through the fear and hop on a coaster. Imagine yourself looking the fear in the face, sitting with it for a moment, and then making the choice to get on the ride :) you got this!

The most popular theme park where i love have 2 roller coasters. One is a 90 degree drop into a loop and the other is on a mountain with 7 loops, im terrified of the feeling of going upside down so I can’t go on easy mode first I only have extreme for my first experience upside down

wonderful video once again! Do you have any suggestions for rollercoasters at hershey or dorney that go upside down but are not too intense because ive only ever been on the sooperdooperlooper a few years ago and i hated it. I want to get over the fear!

The weird thing is, I kept my head back against the headrest on Stealth at Thorpe Park, and it still got pushed downwards from the force of the launch, so until we got to the top of the top hat, all I could see was my shoes 😂😂😂😂😂😂

It’s not the fear of falling out, it’s the fear of throwing up. You ask the 11 year old me if I wanted to go on the smiler then it’s a yes, ask me now then HELL NO. I think it started when I went on a one of these rides that jolt you up and down on the flat surface, I threw up immediately after getting off so guess that got me scared of them lol. Anyways I went on nemesis last time I went to Alton and I’m pretty sure I passed out on the first inversion I don’t remember any of it all I remember is suddenly going over another loop

  • @casuallystalled

i think closing eyes makes things worse, because than you can't see where you're going. I think the first time i went on a ride with inversions was superman at six flags great adventure, when i was like 8 years old. i was then too afraid to incrediable hulk, which has 7 inversions. didn't ride a rollercoaster for nearly 10 years, and then went on the ride. the reason i had a giant gap is because i never really had a chance to go back to an amusement park for a long time.
my advice is the number of inversions isn't going to tell you how intense the ride is, as some rides with less inversions may actually be more intense, so do your research. this is because a lot if that has to do with how fast the ride goes through the element and how spread out the elements are. in the end, have fun

When you go inverted in a rollercoaster, it lifts you out of your seat and onto the shoulder bar things. I always push myself down into the seat because I fear if I don't all my body weight will go onto the shoulder bar and it will break. Am I supposed to push myself into the seat while inverted, or am I just overreacting?

For those worried, please don’t be. It’s something that feels strange but it’s amazing. Just remember to keep your head back and it’ll be fine! The inversion of a loop is over before you even have a chance to think about it! The corkscrews and cut back inversions have a different feeling but not as ‘intense’ as a loop! :)

I need help I’m really scared of rides and I’m always pressured to ride them. I’ve ridden more intense rides like full throttle and twisted colossus and enjoyed them so the videos trying to help you to get over your fear don’t help because they always like “start at ride the kiddy rides then the more intense rides.” But I’ve already been on the intense rides. And my dad won’t take me to six flags if I don’t ride tatsu. I’m scared of tatsu. What do I do? (Sorry for the grammar mistakes)
