    Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the third installment in the Super Smash Bros. ( tasvideos.org/Movies-Group10 ) series, released for the Wii in 2008. While its core mechanics are the same as its predecessors (where the genre’s traditional health bar is replaced with a percent counter, with the goal of knocking opponents off the stage instead of reducing their HP to zero), Brawl changed many aspects of the game from Super Smash Bros. Melee ( tasvideos.org/Movies-844G ), resulting in the game generally being considered the "slowest" in the series as a result.
    Brawl is the first game in the series to have a dedicated story mode, called "The Subspace Emissary", which is the main focus of this TAS. The Subspace Emissary is mostly composed of side-scrolling platforming levels with cutscenes and beat-’em-up sections called "Ambushes" - similar to games like Kirby Super Star - while also containing the traditional versus matches and bosses like its predecessors.
    DyllonStej ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/D... ) takes advantage of oversights in the game's damage mechanics, which allows for extreme travel speed without being KO'd, in order to literally fly through the game at record-setting speed. Pervasive luck-manipulation throughout the movie ensures that the author always gets the right item or sticker to go even faster, whilst attaining 100% completion.       this is legit amazing to watch, having played a large amount of brawl how close you came to some of the killboxes is scary and impressive.

    i love how there’s a few minutes of gameplay after the credits. i don’t think that’s been done in a tas before.

      DKC2 and DKC3 102% and 103% have gameplay after credits (although credits are just skipped by soft resetting the game). I'm sure there are plenty more TASes that had gameplay after credit.

    After more than 10 years of watching TAS, this is probably my favorite TAS ever, we can see the push and pull in action to the extreme, it makes me reconsider the entire concept behind Sakurai's vision, and makes me be thankful.
    About Brawl, i have read people saying "we have come so far" when talking about Ultimate, but i think that Brawl is the peak, i was 14 years old and didn't like it at first, but now looking back, there is no way another game comes close, the risks taken, this game is extremelly pretentious, and i love that, this is 70s prog rock in game form, and "tripping" is automated drum patterns lol

    This is slightly faster than how I play Brawl.
    By a lot of hours faster than I played it and not getting lost in the great maze.
    Slightly faster. Its very entertaining though

    Every time I hear Brawl's music, I wonder for a time, how I used to think this stuff was hot jams. Now I look over at Fluidsynth or other heavy hitter soundfonts and wonder why in the world Nintendo of all companies cheaped out on their sound design. Fat peaking audio, low impact music, and nothing that has that nice visceral feeling like the impacts from Smash 64.
