Something I wanted to note here. I know the In-Game timer stops at certain events, but that timer you see at the top right is just for show. I calculated the IGT by adding all the times on the main menu, so the times are correct. The reason the timer at the top is equal to the times I added up is because of events like Lethal Marathon and Final Destination Match. These events slow down, speed up, or stop the timer at certain points. I just fiddled with the speed of the timer on these events, which got me to match the added IGT and the IGT on the timer. If you have any other questions just leave a comment, I read all of them! And by the way, the weird sound that can be heard at 6:57 is the ambient noise of Kongo Jungle loading before the stage itself does. Just to add an interesting bit most may overlook or have just straight up missed all these years; In regards to the final event, the game actually commends the player with a separate announcement should they beat it without losing any stocks(or 'falls' as the game refers to them). You can pause to see it in this video (made far easier by slowing down the playback speed). Back in the day, I played this final event religiously for the sheer fun of it. I loved the idea of being challenged by a final boss fight where I could play any character and repeat the event to heart's content. I had beaten it probably a hundred times over the years, never expecting anything more out of it until I eventually beat it without losing a stock. Achieved through countering the bajeezus out of Ganon's attacks with Roy, imagine my delight when the event I had beaten so many times previously had given me one more sentimental token that I could appreciate. I'm sure runners and TAS'ers alike have seen the message plenty given the conditions, but I'd imagine this could be something not many have actually seen or even knew existed. I guess it's just cool to see something unexpected from developers way down the line. Anyway, thanks for the awesome video.
that was me with an indie platformer, Celeste. the game is stuffed full of Easter eggs, references, and an impossibly hard challenge. but. for those determined enough to best it, the game DOES reward you for beating those 26 challenges. a small reward, for your save file. doesn't mean much, but it's a reward only obtainable through lots of sweat and tears... the golden strawberries. if you haven't bested the game, and don't mind spoilers (I recommend playing it through blind, better experience that way)... you can search up "Celeste Golden Strawberries" and prepare to be amazed.

Late comment, but that only happened in my first TAS of the event matches because I let the TAS times run through to overwrite the memory card, which is a very bad idea, don't do that like I did it may cause desyncs.
The technical mastery of a TAS is impressive, yes; but the moments I live for are when there's a mandatory wait/timer and the TAS just gets to absolutely ball out for fun.
ah good old event 51. i remember when i was a kid, i came so incredibly close to beating it, but something happened to mess it up and i lost. My child self cried out of rage, deleted the save data, and threw the game away...then took it out of the trash hours later after calming down and beat it a week later :)

ah good old event 51. i remember when i was a kid, i came so incredibly close to beating it, but something happened to mess it up and i lost. My child self cried out of rage, deleted the save data, and threw the game away...then took it out of the trash hours later after calming down and beat it a week later :)
