I've been making molds for 25 years, but needed to know how to cut a cuff bracelet with bezels. Finding this video was SO helpful!!!! Very thankful for people like this man who share their talents....
Excellent video, I've been a jeweler for more than 50 years, I cut simple molds myself but the skill to cut a complex mold is a joy to watch, thank you!
Good mold cutting. I do not use spray and powder together. I almost have stopped using powder as, I always make my rubber molds in silicone rubber. And I always highly polish my master models before making rubber molds, as I want polished wax patterns. So minimum finishing and polishing after casting. I take care to plate my masters with rhodium after polishing it properly with no scratches, I check it under 6x magnification. I like to do it properly, which saves silver or gold in the future process. I never hurry up, because we loose our precious time and money later in finishing and polishing. My two cents. May all be happy and at ease, free from dis-ease. Happy mold cutting.
thank you! I want to learn and am trying to cast my own pieces at home and this was one of the most useful videos that I found again thank you so much! you are local so I might pass by the shop one of these days and say thank you in person!
the result is impressive, but i did this job for three years with another methode, i use 4 rivets neer the edges between the layers of the square of castaldo rubber and to separate the two faces of the molde i use white grade powder , thank you for the videos.
Hello, thank you for the video! I was wondering what is the tool you use to inject the material at 8:50, how does air flow out of the mold during the injection? Cheers!
Hi , I use a wax injector call Arbe , and to get the air out of the mold when injecting you cut from the imprint with a surgical blade to the outside of the mold two or three times then you put some Johnson’s baby power and some silicon spray from Castaldo , you can see some of my work in Instagram @ gastonjewelrymiami Thank You
Hi , is the back end of a file you anneal it ,drill two holes so you can put two screws and screw it on top of a bench ,bent the tip when hot , make sure the tip is pointed so you can pinch the mold and cut it , you can see some of my work in Instagram @ gastonjewelrymiami Thank You
Hi , that’s a silicon spray to release the wax from the mold , you can buy that at any jewelry supply house and the powder I only use Johnson’s baby power , you can see some of my work in Instagram @gastonjewelrymiami ,Thank You
Thank you so much. I have learned several tricks from this video. Best wishes

Hello, thank you for the video!
I was wondering what is the tool you use to inject the material at 8:50, how does air flow out of the mold during the injection?

You slice vents in the rubber to allow the trapped air to escape or you wind up with areas that dont fill.
