Thank you! The keyboard I was using is a "Easterntimes Tech I-500". It is a fairly cheap mechanical keyboard with blue cherryMX switches.

oh yeah. had t o use windows to update the bios on my thinkpad as well. but idk what that gui is, i just downloaded the exe for the bios flasher from lenovo's website and then flashed it.

That gui is Thinkvantage, Lenovo's PC maintenance utility/bloat.
