The Silly Thing That Drove These Art Journaling Decisions

- When you're creating, you have choices. The criteria you use to make those choices plays a big role in what you create. This could be a deeply philosophical topic, but it's not here. What drove my choices in this art journal was how to avoid cleaning. I really don't like cleaning today. I'm using a water based spray paint so there isn't much of an odor, but it is still spray paint, so be sure to do it in a well ventilated area or wear a mask.

Those “failures” and “mistakes” that we so harshly criticized ourselves about actually became true gifts as soon as you start saying O.O.P.S. Try saying Oops in an angry tone. It makes it even more silly!
I just can’t take myself seriously when I say Oops which is just what I needed to play. I began to play, to have fun, and to embrace all of my “mistakes”.

I love my silicone brushes! More often than not, if I use a regular brush, I forget to wash it,so I have quite a collection of dried up brushes!!😂❤🌈

No no no, you’re perfectly correct about cleaning brushes; some days that very task is the straw that whoops the camel (aww they’re so cute tho, I rode one when I was like four and almost died when he stood up! I totally get it! I often avoid using things That I'll have to clean up afterwards.... because I just don't want to do the clean up. Sometimes, the "little things" are Huge things.

Carolyn, I love watching you work, and I'm with you on not wanting to clean things (said looking at the pile of stuff needing to be organized beside my table!) But I'm stressed out about the book you're using -- as an amateur genealogist/family historian, I'm really hoping that at the very least that book got scanned before it got turned into an art journal. I have the feeling I've said this on another video -- if so I apologize for repeating myself. It's just hard having my two delights collide, you know? LOL
I work with kids and sometimes I can't clean brushes straight away so I use a fill an old drink with a wide mouth with water and dish soap. Chuck them all in there and then put the lid on tightly and shake it away.
I watched this a few days ago, went to Amazon and bought the cheapest color of solid marker at the timen(yellow). they sent me FOURTEEN! i only ordered one! now i have 14 yellow solid markers lmao and i don't know what i'm going to do with them!
