Garrett was nasty. Wow. That splitter was dancing. Struck out the side in both his innings! Mets are lucky Pirates took Jones out. He was cruising and he probably would’ve gotten the Pirates through 7 at least.
This team is showing signs of coming back from a deficit. 1 run 3 runs down to win games. It's nice to see this early on in the season. And we win another series against a better team record wise. Let's finish this with a sweep. Go have a travel day off and try to win against LA Dodgers. I will finally be able to watch it on Pix 11 through my affiliate where I live. I don't have satellite TV or cable or anything like that. Let's go, Mets.
This team is fired up. Mendoza is fired up. Reed Garrett striking out the side TWICE. Lindor HITTING. Jeff HITTING. WENDLE hitting. Everything locking into place like it should. Back above .500 as it should be. Winning series like we should be. We're in the hunt, baby. It's all about the Mets, baby. Let's go Mets, baby! #LGM #LFGM
We are on what the kids call a HEATER Mets fans!!! This pitching staff is impressing big time! 17 games in and Lindor, McNeil, Nimmo batting averages are quite concerning. This is holding over from last year for Lindor and McNeil which totally sucks. Take away the shift and batting averages on our team go down. The Bader / Taylor tandem is absolutely fantastic right now and so great to have Marte back in the saddle again. #LFGM
Lindor is getting a bit unlucky, and his underlying plate skills are fine. Nimmo is crushing the ball and getting EXTREMELY unlucky (xBA over .300, xSLG close to .600). McNeil is totally BABIP dependent, and needs to stop hitting so many fly balls, since he makes such weak contact. The bullpen has looked good lately, although they’re still walking too many guys. The real problem is the starting pitching, which has gotten super-lucky and will regress. They have the 3rd-worst walk rate in MLB, have an unsustainably low HR rate, they’re allowing a lot of hard contact, they don’t miss many bats, and you can only allow so much traffic on the bases and hard contact before the runs start piling up. Butto has shown some actual underlying improvement, but one hopes the team can hang on until their more talented guys are ready (e.g. Senga, Christian Scott, even Megill), because we will start seeing more blowups from the other guys currently in the rotation (Houser and -Jason Vargas- José Quintana are the two guys I’m most concerned about, with their mediocre command and inability to miss bats).
Impressive pitching by Jared Jones. Mets were fortunate that he came out of the game and they could grind out a few runs. They're doing a lot of things right at this time and the breaks are finally coming their way. Hope they stay over .500 for the rest of the season!
why the hell does this channel keep using the audio from the damn opposing announcers what mets fan subcriber would ever want to hear them instead of GKR COME ON
🤔I think it's because they use the same video footage from the MLB channel, but still, they should take the time to edit the video & just have it with GKR instead. 🤷♂
As you see, when it first comes on, you see the affiliate teams tv and radio stations. Unless you're watching a baseball game on FOX apple tv or some other network, then you are stuck with those announcers and perhaps the teams radio affiliate.
@@madmanmark8387bro what are you talking about i would understand if the mets booth only talked at the bottom of the inning and visitors vice versa but that’s obviously not how they do it
@@jimwerther Oh no... That's just being selfish. You're leaving the game because you're thinking "down the road?" What the fuck is that bullshit? What matters is winning the damn game now. For all you know your plane will crash after you leave the city... It's unbelievable how or what these players/managers are getting away with now. They are so disconnected from the history of the game.
These wins are nice and all, but while everyone is worried about Lindor, the real problem is the starting rotation, which is going to come crashing back to earth very, very soon. Quintana’s expected ERA is over 6 (god I hated that signing 🤦🏽♂️), and the only Mets starters with an xERA under 5 are Severino (who’s not much better at 4.40) and José Butto. You can only allow so much traffic on the bases and hard contact, and miss so few bats, before the runs start piling up.
@@bloodwrage The bullpen has looked good lately, but they’ve also walked a few too many guys, the whole staff has an unsustainably low HR rate, and they’ve allowed a bunch of unearned runs that obviously don’t show up in the staff ERA. Senga won’t be back until June at the earliest, and the wheels could come off the wagon well before then. Plus, they realistically need more help than just him, anyway. My hope is that the offense and bullpen can hold things together long enough for that help to come. I think they’re going to need at least two of Senga, Megill, and Peterson to return healthy and effective (to replace Houser and -Jason Vargas- Quintana), and probably Christian Scott too, because I don’t trust Severino (declining stuff) and Manaea (consistently inconsistent) to _both_ be effective all year, and it remains to be seen whether Butto is for real, or just on a little heater. Truly good teams rack up plenty of comfortable, wire-to-wire wins, whereas this team’s wins have mostly been close games requiring comebacks, which doesn’t really scream “sustainability,” even if their bullpen is good enough to help them win a lot of one and two-run games.
@@jimwerther That’s fine, but I’ll just point out that among many concerning numbers, -Jason Vargas- Quintana (sorry, can’t help myself) has a 17.6% strikeout rate, 12.1% walk rate, 1.50 WHIP, he allows a lot of hard contact, and suddenly a lot of it is in the air, which is really scary. He’s been unbelievably and unsustainably lucky.
@@IdliAmin_TheLastKingofSambar No one's putting him in the Hall of Fame. I'm just saying that he is a legit starter, better than, say, Adrian Houser. Also, I don't expect him to get into a fistfight with the manager.
LGM - nice victory. keep the Train Rolling. The Pirates seem to have their Nolan Ryan in Jared Jones! Why did the Pirates Mngr take him out??? So far, it looks like that Frankie A. needs to get sent down to AAA to "find his swing" (like many others in the past - like Conforto, etc.). He look a little Lost at the Plate.

It would've been nice if the highlights included how we got to the first & third with one out in the 7th inning.
Yah think? They show every pop up and ground out, then skip that part. Really weird.

Anyone explain why that was a balk?
Is Jared Jones hurt or coming back from injury? Why the heck did they take him out after 5?
That was apparently the plan going into the night. He was going to play 5 innings and then exit regardless of how well it was going.
