I think they’ve really nailed the type of weapon that Allen needs. He doesn’t need super flashy guys that are as toxic and narcissistic as they are talented, he just needs guys who are hard working, selfless, and have great hands. The Bills most talented weapon is Amari Cooper, and he’s only on the team to scare defenses into covering him, opening things up. Teams are frustrated because they know if they don’t lock down Cooper, he will make magic happen with anything Allen throws his way, but that if they do cover him, the Bills have tons of other players who will make something happen. Johnson, Hollins, Kincaid, Davis, Coleman, Knox, all of those guys are on the same page and are good at catching the ball. Allen is surrounded by big bodies with good catching abilities, and he’s only knows that his elite O-line and personal escapability will allow enough time for him to find someone open, run to take care of it himself, or at the very least avoid a negative play. The only real exceptions are Cook and Shakir. Shakir has shorter arms and can’t reach for things as well as some, but his skillset allows him to really shine with an insanely low drop rate, being that nimble and solid slot guy who can really beat teams up. At the same time, Cook has been a fantastic back, making this an incredibly diverse offense. Seriously, the Bills are way more complete on offense than anyone could’ve expected. Bring pressure, the O-line will pick it up and Allen will beat you. Take Shakir and Cooper out of the game, the Bills will bring out Ty Johnson. Try to stop the run game, Allen finds Coleman down field or checks it down to Hollins. Force Allen out of the pocket and Knox and Kincaid magically find themselves open and go for 25. Switch things up and watch James Cook cook. Get to third or fourth and one and watch Josh Allen turn himself into a human battering ram and push right through you for the touchdown. Gotta love how creative this team’s diverse and complete talent, elite O-line, amazing OC, and MVP QB has allowed them to be!!
hi: this should not surprise you the least. Jim Kelly was run and shooting even back in 90's. Run and Shoot is the same as this type of formation: you do no huddle and you run confusion and hit weak spots where the defense cannot cover. This is no surprise that Bill are still good at finding the holes.
Actually the advanced metrics say he was less accurate this year than he has been for the past 4 seasons. It really just boils down to the fact that his offensive coordinator isn’t a total dunce anymore and he can finally run a consistent offense. I hope the Bills manage to keep Brady around so Allen doesn’t have to learn a brand new system for the 3rd time in 3 years.
also not talked about enough is their WR's willingness to block on run plays. all of their WRs, especially Mack Hollins, will throw themselves at defenders constantly to get Allen and Cook extra yards
so glad this showed up in my UA-cam feed. great breakdown of this stuff. way above my head but very educational. I actually chucked at one of the samples as it was amazing how the defense got so confused. thanks for making this.

Wow, what a great video. It's not easy finding UA-cam channels that show Josh Allen or the Bills in a positive light. This video needs to be seen by all of the people saying Josh is over rated. Dude is a beast and I've never seen WR's, TE's and RB's so willing to put themselves in harms way to block for their teammates like this Buffalo offense. Hats off to every one of them for being so selfless just to get the dub. Thanks for the hard work it must have been to put this video together. Subscribed! Keep up the good work.

This is the best breakdown of the Bills offense. Their plays create organized chaos, and Allen has the skill to adjust on the fly and the athleticism to make big throws in motion or go for it himself. Defenses can't handle it.
One of the plays I haven’t seen very often from other teams is putting the eligible 6th OL in motion. Works great as a lead blocker, since he’s got enough steam to bulldoze a player. Or to set up a bubble screen but with Alec Anderson lead blocking instead of Mack Hollins.
Can we talk about how Shakir's field awareness has made so much of this offensive teams plays possible? Seriously, that young man is going to be a massive threat durring thebrest of his career and his spacial awareness and overall view of the field is amazing. Yeah J.B. is a great coordinator, but it takes the talent and skills of the players to pull off. An Shakir makes these plays look easy. His attention to both his team mates and opponents, his pacing, and eye for open pockets, along with his timing is simply top notch.
Great break down. This is the first video I seen of yours, now I'm gonna find more. (I'd love to see the Xs & Os of how Brady & Allen have evolved this season. Baltimore's Cover 0 heavy blitz and disguised rushes/coverage, followed by Houston's simple Cover 1 / 1 high middle close both gave the Bills FITS. I was worried the receivers talent wasn't going to beat man coverage after that. But then all the teams tried it. Lions, Jets, Miami, Patriots, even the Rams 3-4 & KC almost abandoned the heaviest zone D in the league for man, and the Bills were then able to beat it. Brady's formations seemed to work. It was worrying, cuz Allen has ALWAYS been great against man (most dual threats are - there's generally an open lane to take if the X didn't get open). But since those early bad games against man coverage, how have they been beating it since?
When you actually watch the games, and you realize that the Bills are doing this with like you said, a pretty "ragtag" group of receivers...it's really more impressive what Allen has done. He doesn't have a 1000 yard receiver on this team. The only pro bowler besides him on the offense was his left tackle. James Cook should've got the nod over Joe Mixon based on stats and team record, but for some reason he didn't. Cook has pretty much same yards in less attempts, averaging more yards per carry and he has like 5 more rushing TDs over him or something. The best thing about this ragtag group of receivers though is that they clearly are all bought in to what Joe Brady is doing and they're playing TEAM football. They don't care who gets the targets, they all block effectively in the running game. I mean look at a guy like Mack Hollins. I feel like Mack Hollins has been talked about more this year than he's been in his entire career. He's sort of a minimum contract type of guy who rounds out a depth chart but he's been critical to Buffalo's offense and he's getting a lot more snaps than I bet anyone thought he would to start the season. I don't know if Buffalo is gonna go all the way this year. I think a big part of that possibility will involve the Steelers upsetting the Ravens in the Wild Card because I just think Baltimore is a really bad matchup for the Bills, and it's just their defensive personnel right now. They're not a good run stopping team and they don't have any answers for Derrick Henry. A lack of size and strength with their front 7 and it's something this team will have to address through the draft. Their defense has definitely taken a step back. They're good when they get takeaways but if they don't get them, they can be exposed pretty badly. The Bills matchup much better with the Chiefs. Regardless, they've been a fun team to watch this year, more so than usual and Josh Allen has had a phenomenal season, even if the stats aren't as eye watering as he's had in past years. 5th straight season accounting for 40 or more touchdowns. No one else has ever done it. He's had the most touchdowns throughout the first 7 years of a career in NFL history. He surpassed Mahomes in that metric this year.

This reminds me of so many Tom Brady motions before the snap. People complain about the 5ish yard throws but the YAC they got is like many of the plays you've shown. And I say who cares how you win as long as you win.
Joe Brady is an offensive genius, it’s crazy that a run heavy offense and getting rid of his best WR has helped Josh Allen achieve a new level of play at QB, this offense has helped him to win his first MVP (we all know he’s winning it, we’ve known for weeks)
@@realjcoop182how is their schedule weak when they played like 10 games against last years playoff teams. The schedule is made before the year, they also literally beat the two one seeds this year convincingly
You need to do an analysis of how Baltimore dismantled this. I don’t have the all 22 so I couldn’t watch it. But they neutralized the pic like action Buffalo got from these formations, releases, and route combinations very effectively
It's not the dirty bunch it's the brady bunch. Great breakdown. I prefer this lad to Ben Johnson. He does more with less. Outside Allen being more talented than Goff

Creativity helps when you have one of the most dynamic QBs who can effortlessly throw rockets from within 50 yards without having their foot set while on the move and has the athleticism/size to run through DBs on scrambles/designed runs. Also helps the interior of the O-line is pretty buff so despite the video being about the Bills pass game in these condensed looks, they are actually a pretty good run team to begin with. Since they bunch the defense up and use speed/misdirection to have Cook or Allen run the ball for good yardage. The Steelers don't have as much talent on offense and thus are really limited with what they can consistently do. Sure they have TEs that can work as moving linemen but they don't have the interior O-line for run blocking along with the explosive and efficient RBs to punish defenses playing 2 safety looks.

@@ThinkingFootball run and shoot was good. Jim Kelly should have a spot in our hearts due to our love for him. Josh is also good, and his offense is good. Both are good. Bills are blessed.
I disagree...Bills WR's do NOT get wide open. JA17 simply throws the ball accurately into the tightest windows imaginable. It seems the tighter the window, the better Josh feeds that ball in. No other QB can do what Allen does.
Looks great, but then the important question. If Brady is so good, then why are the Bills near the bottom in wr separation? Why then are so many plays too off script with Allen chased out of the pocket and scrambling, making passes to tight windows and buying time.
Video about "wide open receivers"... proceeds to show a lot of completed pass to receivers that are not wide open from the team with the smallest average separation in the league.
About 3 minutes in you say "the boys Upstate". Please PLEASE never refer to Buffalo as "Upstate". I know NYC likes to think that everywhere in NY that's not NYC is "Upstate" but that's has never been true. "Upstate NY" is where the Adirondack mountains are. Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse are not "Upstate NY". Buffalo in particular is "Western NY".j
@@ThinkingFootball That's exactly what i'm talking about. Adirondack mountains are northern part of the state. Buffalo is the western part of the state. Our entire identity is that we're not "Upstate" and we never were and we hate being called that by people from NYC. Also, I had no idea people from NJ were getting it wrong. It sucks that they're wrong too.
@@Darie2006 Too many people have been saying it wrong for far too long. It's time someone starts getting it right. Western NY is not "upstate", and never was.
So, basically, you overload one or two defenders with too many assignments and have one of your receivers break in an unexpected way. Sounds like a great way to deal with most zone-based defenses.
"rag tag" WR core?!? Talent all across the field and that includes the backfield. This a deep team with a super star at QB. Easy schedule and division and Allen not playing hero ball till it's time to be a FB. Less Arm punts this year but that one vs the Pats is his default setting.
Bills offense has been high octane since 2020. Allen was responsible for 6 TD's vs. the Rams a few weeks back but they still lost the game. They allowed 42 points VS Detroit as well. If Allen puts the Bills up 100 points, you can be rest assured the Defense will lose the game final score 110-100.
I wouldn't emphasis wide open too much. Sure it does happen but not consistently. This WR group struggles with man on man separation. Also The bills have been doing that sneak longer than the Eagles.

The Josh Allen era is now.
Keep waiting
And my Broncos have to go into Buffalo and play this team. I’m scared.
Football IQ man. Being fast and strong is cool and all. But will you be in the right position when needed? Thats why alot of defenders get smoked🤷♂️🤷♂️
They’re gonna throw a td to Alec Anderson this week
The 49ers under Kyle Shanahan have been doing this for years.
fascinating
hi: this should not surprise you the least. Jim Kelly was run and shooting even back in 90's. Run and Shoot is the same as this type of formation: you do no huddle and you run confusion and hit weak spots where the defense cannot cover. This is no surprise that Bill are still good at finding the holes.
This and Run and Shoot KGun are entirely different tactics
Both great, but they don't share a lot of similarities apart from shotgun
@@ThinkingFootball run and shoot was good. Jim Kelly should have a spot in our hearts due to our love for him. Josh is also good, and his offense is good. Both are good. Bills are blessed.
This reads as a well deserved love letter to the 2024 Bills.
14:44 😂
Can you make a video about why the steelers offense is putrid ?
You have to play either Russ or Fields, there's your answer
@ 😂😂😂 its going to be a long game man. Who you got?
I've got Ravens - although if anyone can pull an upset, it's the steelers
ive waited years for this…
Receivers should not be this wide open in the NFL. Crazy scheme
I hope Sean Payton watches your video so they ( the Broncos)can plan around thier formations and study them
Trust me, If a yt channel has worked it out, NFL coaches are far ahead of us
Hope the bills win it all. Not likely, but the fans deserve a super bowl 1 time
Respect dawg 🫡
The throw at 12:03 was absolutely disgusting
Hopefully the NFL doesn't ban pre-snap motions
that would be horrible for the league
Never happening
Hopefully they can shut the Chiefs up in the AFCCG
Except chiefs have a defense that can take the ball away, Allen has to play a clean game
@@BiggoSuave he always does. I hope the Bills defense doesn’t get completely ran through again lol
I disagree...Bills WR's do NOT get wide open. JA17 simply throws the ball accurately into the tightest windows imaginable. It seems the tighter the window, the better Josh feeds that ball in. No other QB can do what Allen does.
Yes, you're about Allen but they are clearly getting wide open. These route concepts and motions are amazing
You tried paying attention to like the 5 minute mark??
Buffalo isn't "upstate."
Brady bunches
bottom of the screen 7:00
Absolutely roasted him
Toasted him but I dont think that meant to be a read unfortunately. Allen never checked it
Definitely not the first read
Looks great, but then the important question. If Brady is so good, then why are the Bills near the bottom in wr separation? Why then are so many plays too off script with Allen chased out of the pocket and scrambling, making passes to tight windows and buying time.
need that lamar film asap
Vick combined with prime Rodgers 👀
Video about "wide open receivers"... proceeds to show a lot of completed pass to receivers that are not wide open from the team with the smallest average separation in the league.
What? The whole first part of the video was wide open receivers.
Why didn’t you show the ravens game? Just curious any reason?
About 3 minutes in you say "the boys Upstate". Please PLEASE never refer to Buffalo as "Upstate". I know NYC likes to think that everywhere in NY that's not NYC is "Upstate" but that's has never been true. "Upstate NY" is where the Adirondack mountains are. Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse are not "Upstate NY". Buffalo in particular is "Western NY".j
Do you have to drive north from New (jersey) York?
Then you are upstaye
@@ThinkingFootball That's exactly what i'm talking about. Adirondack mountains are northern part of the state. Buffalo is the western part of the state. Our entire identity is that we're not "Upstate" and we never were and we hate being called that by people from NYC. Also, I had no idea people from NJ were getting it wrong. It sucks that they're wrong too.
Your upstate ny get over it
@@Darie2006 Too many people have been saying it wrong for far too long. It's time someone starts getting it right. Western NY is not "upstate", and never was.
I think the Bills will win it all after what they did to KC and Detroit.
The dirty bunch
So, basically, you overload one or two defenders with too many assignments and have one of your receivers break in an unexpected way. Sounds like a great way to deal with most zone-based defenses.
Quad bunch formations aren't unique to the Bills. They just have Josh Allen and Dawson Knox
"rag tag" WR core?!? Talent all across the field and that includes the backfield. This a deep team with a super star at QB. Easy schedule and division and Allen not playing hero ball till it's time to be a FB. Less Arm punts this year but that one vs the Pats is his default setting.
Easy schedule? Bills beat two 15-win teams for the first time in NFL history.
The bills are not upstate it's Western New York
GoBills
Bills offense has been high octane since 2020. Allen was responsible for 6 TD's vs. the Rams a few weeks back but they still lost the game. They allowed 42 points VS Detroit as well. If Allen puts the Bills up 100 points, you can be rest assured the Defense will lose the game final score 110-100.
Bills WR have the worst seperation not sure how you think they are getting wide open
Because I watch tape instead of parroting stats
Apart from the Pats apparently
They played all backups and vanilla script
Buddy cooked once that OC leaves
I wouldn't emphasis wide open too much. Sure it does happen but not consistently. This WR group struggles with man on man separation.
Also The bills have been doing that sneak longer than the Eagles.
