I have cut the tops down by a foot, also put a 4.5 mm internal bush, still my Dura slip 15 still seems to struggle even with duraslip lube. It seems as if there is too much elastic in the top kit? Brilliant tip about using mono inside the pole when you don't want a full top kit of elastic. For years I have struggled with trying to trim bungs so they fit a bit further up, but with mono you can use whatever length of elastic you want!!

I'd suggest taking it to you'r local tackle shop, they may be able to help. It's hard to advise without seeing it in person :)

I have noticed some anglers have several inches of elastic hanging out of their puller bung, I dont know why, what are your thoughts
it allows them to tension the elastic to exactly how it's needed for that day :)
