    An absolutely fantastic video from Lee Kerry, this has cleared up so many questions I had on feeder rigs, thanks for that Lee.

    Great video. I typed in helicopter rig and came up with loads of videos but yours is the best. Explains the 3 rigs in 1 video in great detail. Nothing fancy or over talking above venues etc etc. Brilliant video!

    My go to rig for all time for natural waters is the twisted boom with quick change swivel attachment...rarely tangles 👍

    Question regarding power gum being more prone to tangles, why not use a short twisted boom to kick away from the feeder and attach power gum to that?

    Thank you Lee for the brilliant power gum rig version. I tried it in these hard winter days by 5°C, fishing 0,12mm hooklengths and size 18 hooks and just one maggot, it's the best rig I' ve fished on the feeder rod for bream and F1s

    Brilliantly demonstrated Lee. Wondered how mainline and hooklength was connected to feeder gum. Thank's for sharing.

    Lee, you’ve got me back into fishing (and Preston equipment), after a 10 year break I’m back and rearing to go. Can you do some more distance feeder fishing, it’s an area that I want to learn most. Great video as always.

    I'd echo all other comments. Lee, you are great at explaining things. I have a couple of questions...1 - how to swap hooklengths on the powergum? I can imagine it's quite hard to get it off (though haven't tried yet). 2 - More an observation, the helicopter rig isn't 'fish-safe' but I guess in a silvers venue it's less of an issue. All comments welcome.

    • @trevordelooze7973
      @trevordelooze7973 2 роки тому

      In latest news....turns out my question 1 is no issue, the old hooklength comes off easily (I thought it might have dug into the powergum a bit but what do I know? ;-))

    Hi Lee excellent video as usual. Quick question, is the helicopter rig fish safe as our club insists on rigs where the fish can not be tethered if the line snaps.

    • @UKprestoninnovations
      @UKprestoninnovations  3 роки тому +1

      It is safe as the fish can easily pull the stotz off the line, but the free-running rig may be a safer option for your club rules.

  • @billstanley5317
    @billstanley5317 Місяць тому

    With a stot above and below the swivel could a fish be tethered if the main line breaks or have i got it wrong?

    With the helicopter rig how do you stop the hook length on the quick-change swivel from sliding down to the link swivel when you're playing a fish ?

    • @soccernoop
      @soccernoop 3 роки тому

      the linestops prevent that

    This is really great and actually a bit different from "russian" style feeder fishing. Id say this is better.

    Will any feeder work? Size/shape??

  • @briandonaghy9075
    @briandonaghy9075 3 роки тому

    Maybe it is because I’m getting on a bit but this excellent video would have been even better if Lee wore a light coloured top rather than dark - it would let the knot tying etc stand out more. Overall the content is well presented by an exceptional young angler.

    Do you need a weight-forward style of feeder for a helicopter rig or will a regular side weight ed feeder still work?

    • @UKprestoninnovations
      @UKprestoninnovations  Рік тому

      Weight forward styles are much less tangle prone :)

    You can easy make a figure of eight knot just make the loop and twist 1 time and pull the tag end through then its a figure of eight knot.

    Lighting is poor so it is difficult to see all the knots and tie offs. Also zooming in to the final knot or tie off would be helpful. Otherwise a helpful video.
