Going thru menopause is not easy for me especially when I am 43 with no kids and always wanted kids. I never had symptoms warning me that I was going thru it because I got my minthly bleeding on time ALWAYSS . I always had PMS so you can imagine my surprise when my bleeding just stoped and me thinkin I was pregnant when it was really my perimenopause.
As recent as 33 I experienced hot flashes. sweating profusly lacking fever.noticable temperature spike by those around me and they're efforts suggesting I was much too young to experience hot flashes at 30's when menopause doesn't start til much later in life. My only explanation being something's very wrong. Hot flashes aren't normal unless menopause is occuring.
I like my hot flashes during the winter. I was talking about this whole thing with my MIL’s home health care person. She said she regulated it by never eating sugar. I asked her if she flew to other countries to eat. I’ve started to believe that we are one big science experiment done by a very lazy middle school kid who did the work ten minutes before it was due.
I'm trying to stay positive about the thought of going through menopause. I'm in my late 30s and have always handled periods and pregnancies well. I want to prepare myself for what's to come in a few years time but I feel that I need to see videos of people in the raw state of it, how hot are the flushes?
Let’s just say the hot flashes feel like you have a furnace radiating through your body and the fire gets stoked and the temperature raises and you can’t control the thermostat. Hot! Please research because I didn’t. I am one year post menopause and my experience was really bad and it affected my mental health. I suffered with anxiety and deep depression. It was like a woman who goes through post partum psychosis. That’s what I experienced with menopause. No one warned me. I am doing better now and am on two medications to help me, for seven months now. Incrementally I am getting better.
I had an endometrial oblation about 4 or 5 years ago. Have not had a period since. Now for the last 2 weeks I’ve developed hot flashes and severe insomnia among other symptoms that appear to be menopause.
I just found out I was in menopause my Dr emailed me said your menopause. And sent me a video 🤦🏽♀️ that’s it I Have so many ? He sends me more videos lol 😂
I've read her book, the Menopause Manifesto, she's not keen on natural remedies. As a medical doctor, I'm not surprised. However, I found that tinctures and herbs remedied the symptoms without giving me a period.
Couple of questions... if you have millions of eggs at birth and ovulate and menstruate 400 times in your life (presuming no hormonal birth control of pregnancies) how can you run out by 45? 1,000,000 minus 400 eggs equals more or less one million. Second question: if you are on the hormonal birth control, you never ovulate and also never technically menstruate (although you might have breakthrough bleeding if you take a week off or even if you don't). So how do you know when it's been a year since you last menstruated when you never menstruated if you took the pill for decades without ever taking a week off? And theoretically, your 400 fresh eggs wouldn't have fallen over your lifetime had you ovulated or menstruated.
I would counter that there is a lot to fear about " reverse puberty ," one symptom being Menopause in woman . Its just that some people prefer there aging process to be sugar coated and who can blame them ..
I need help. What do you do if you’re girlfriend/wife has gone through menopause and she’s not emitting those pheromones? But I still love her.
I'm dreading the moment my period will stop. My period is a kind of cleanser for me. Whatever infection or issue i might have, it always goes away when my period comes.
I'm experiencing mild nausea constantly, as if I'm pregnant. I made a pregnancy test, I'm not pregnant, and still I feel like I am. I'm worried too. I feel weird 😢 so confusing
I don't get menstrual cramps, at least i didn't at all for the first 1-3 years, even now the pain is on about a 1-3 range. so I hardly get cramps, why's that? I won't take it back if I could lol...but I'm just curious.
She should have mentioned HRT as a solution. It does work for many women. And that silly mantra at then end? Sorry but its like telling us it's ok to suffer? The hot flashes are caused by increased cortisol levels which control body temperature ( cortisol is glucose which is also body sugar ) so If a woman doesn't have a good diet her chances of having hot flashes are high because it's caused by a sugar increase level.

@@amandalierly1291 It is OK to menopause, I didn't deny that. Though, it is absolutely OK to end relationships/marriages turned toxic by her sudden changes. It ain't mandatory, of course: Neither to become a toxic, asexual manhater, nor to leave a woman going through menopause. It is, though, nothing only one goes through and the other had to endure all of that crap no matter what: relationships consist of TWO people. It is, though, pretty important to see not only the single one side of the "menopause-equation" but watch carefully what *_the other part_* is going through, too. Lots of lots of insults and aggressions and condemning of those who can not bare the new, manhating phase of their formerly beloved partner and thus draw the conclusion to better change their lives and turn towards someone *_not_* hating, constantly menacing and bullying them - it is unfair, unwanted and unnecessary to call the leaving one the culprit, as it's usually done. I know I’ll be on carefully regulated HRT for the next 20 years, but the future is a little scary because there isn’t a lot of research on this condition (yet). Sorry you are also part of this group. I hope you have a good support network. I have come to terms better with it now, but one of the worst parts was having nobody my age to talk to about what was happening and how I was feeling. Take care ❤️
I’m 42 and have had these side effects that I’m sure are perimenopause. My doctor refused to listen and says I’m too young. I don’t go to her anymore, but unfortunately I can’t find a doctor or good information.
@@leannemarie8956 same exact experience with my female primary care provider! I couldn't understand how she nonchalantly told me that I'm way too young for that and dismissed my symptoms, even though she's around my age. I'd hoped she kept a more open mind. Giving her one more chance then might have to find another provider as well.
I thought it creates like 35% more Alzheimers...?
This doctor talks about getting enough sleep when insomnia is part of the symptoms of menopause and I fear menopause because HRT was demonized after the WHI study of 2002 and menopause brings the risk of osteoporosis, alzheimer and heart attack.
I'll risk it. F it. I don't want to be 60 pounds too fat, not sleeping, saggy and old. F that.

I adore being done with menopause. Adore it. I had a tubal ligation at 21 and periods were a true hassles for the next 30 years that I never wanted around. No doctor at the time would help me get rid of them. Menopause, for all it's hassles and challenges, was the best thing!
I've been going through menopause for over a year. I may only be 39 years old but I had a complete full hysterectomy 17 years ago. I have so many things of menopause.
If you had a full hysterectomy (including ovaries) at the age of 22, you would have been in menopause at 22. I don't understand how you are going through it now? Unless they left the ovaries in which case it wasn't a full hysterectomy
I was surprised there was no mention of leg cramps. There is no pain like being awoken from a sound sleep in the wee hours by both calves severely spasming at the same time. Fortunately, this was eliminated by taking a good multivitamin daily.
Dear Ma'am, did you consult a doc before taking the multi vitamins.?
I have terrible leg cramps, at odd hours...
@@sharmisthabhattacharya1242 I did not. Stopping the cramps was an unintended positive consequence of starting the vitamins. If I miss two days, the cramps return. It may be specifically the magnesium in the vitamin that is helping with the cramps.

I know I became pre menopausal shortly after my daughters 1st Birthday. Hot flashes so bad I have to take cold bathes with ice. I do not sleep well at all. My menstrual cycle is so screwed up it will be so heavy I cannot leave my home to virtually non-existent. I am cramping for.the first time in my life but only during ovulation cycles. Menopause is he!! Which no one talks about. Not for the faint of heart.
A. You don’t FEEL sweaty. You ARE sweaty
B The only good thing about hot flashes is that it saves on the utility bill in winter.
So true.
There are other conditions that can make you feel hot and sweaty. For me, it's a thyroid disease. Ask your doctor.

Never heard someone talk about menopause that way.
It’s not luck…it depends on how healthy adrenal glands are. I’m 48 and tending to my adrenals which is healing my entire system.
"Talk to your doctor" is painfully unhelpful advice for those of us with barriers to care.
I just found out I was in menopause my Dr emailed me said your menopause. And sent me a video 🤦🏽♀️ that’s it I Have so many ? He sends me more videos lol 😂
Interesting video. I might as well learn about it from this lady online since this topic will probably not come up naturally in life.

There is a huge message: Trust my body. Thanks.
Comments and suggestions not to be heard from a medical specialist. She even says ‘mantra’! Highly scientific approach.
I've read her book, the Menopause Manifesto, she's not keen on natural remedies. As a medical doctor, I'm not surprised. However, I found that tinctures and herbs remedied the symptoms without giving me a period.
That's psychosomatic. There's no evidence and it can kill you, too.
See How Not to die by Dr. G.
Time to be adult.

She should have mentioned HRT as a solution. It does work for many women. And that silly mantra at then end? Sorry but its like telling us it's ok to suffer? I had the worst periods of my life then.
Hi Dr Gunter
I have an 8 year old daughter. She just started growing underarm hair. One of her 8 year old female friends on the other hand hasn't started growing armpit hair, however has grown pubic hair and has had a period. So now I'm kinda freaking out in my mind thinking is my daughter going to start her period soon. I don't recall when I started my period however I'm pretty sure it was no where near 8 year old. I think years later.
Are there things causing earlier periods that we can try to avoid? I sure hope so.
Hello. I know I am late but avoid foods with androgens in it. Food these days have hormones which trigger changes in our body and can trigger puberty.
Foods with phytoestrogens, like soy, may be problematic.
hello, honestly, everyone is built different so you can't exactly predict when she'll get it. just make sure she knows what it is (do not sugar coat it be direct with her, use medical terms) so she doesn't panic once it starts for her.
It's from fat. Please see The Secret Life of Fat. Library has it. You get x% fat, and that's how it starts.

Thanks for such a great explainer! I feel like it's really hard to get clear info on menopause, so many sources are vague on detail. Dr Gunter is a brilliant speaker & so easy to follow 😁
I’m not thinking magnetic therapy has many risks.
The hot flashes are caused by increased cortisol levels which control body temperature ( cortisol is glucose which is also body sugar ) so If a woman doesn't have a good diet her chances of having hot flashes are high because it's caused by a sugar increase level.
Cortisol is not sugar.
@@VoltaireVI it’s a type of glucose which is body sugar

It's just as traumatic for men too! My friend went from a loving person to hating everyone around her :(
Did You know: You can get rid of this kinda people around You. It is absolutely OK to divorce, to end friendships and leave relationships when one partner is entering her toxic phase of life ....
To be right here, to took the time to watch the video to try and understand what she's going through. Is a brilliant move. Devoted love. Forget what the person says about divorce. To the woman that's going through menopause they're trying to understand it too, your not alone
One turning into a toxic hater does affect the other, who is free to leave the recently turned toxic, manhating one without regrets or even feeling bad.
@@manfredschmalbach9023 that's why we have our own opinion.
@@amandalierly1291 Nothing wrong with own opinions - as long as those ain't pushed onto other people as the only just ones. That's why I worded the "it is OK to do one's own thing" so utterly careful: "not mandatory", "...OK to ..." and so on.
It's a delicate matter, and it isn't easily combed all with the same brush.
Have a nice day!
