The only strange thing is that there was a lot of black... stuff coming from the logo when I polished both my classic and my nano. My theory is that these things were so old that a bunch of grime had built up in the laser engraving. Either way, both the logo and the text are just fine.
I use a cheap hand dremel with the buffing wheel makes it a faster process and gets a mirror finish I touch up my stainless Apple Watch every month or so and keeps it fresh out of the box looking
You could save yourself a lot of product by using a smaller section of the cloth. It'll give you more working time instead of applying it and basically wiping it off immediately like this.
Just bought myself a 1st generation iPod touch that has a lot scratches & scuff’s I’m going to buy some of that mag & aluminum polish & see if I can get the scratches out to bring it back to life.
You probably only need two goes. First pass just to see how well it was working and then second time rubbing and going a bit deeper. But also wait a minute or two with the chemical on the surface to help oxidise the metal before buffing it off. You shouldn’t need to rub it off that hard either.
Thank you for your amazing video! Is there a buffer that you can recommend that I can use the same polish with a drill? I have an iPod classic 3rd generation that has a very hazy screen, I'm afraid to mess it up do you think I can use the same polish for the front?
I would recommend finding a plastic polish for the front, as I think this polish would be to abrasive. As far as a buffer goes, a small Dremel with a buffing tool would work great for this. I was simply using what I had on hand.
@@ThatDudeArvai Thanx. i tried it, with toothpaste, sandpaper grit 2000 and then 3M fine polish. So far i’m satisfied. An improvement of 80%. Signatures remain okay. Still some work to do.
Just ordered a very scratched up 3rd gen nano off eBay. I plan to do this now, thank you!!
It's absolutely nuts how well this worked.

Easy to get swirls for people that don't know what they're doing. Manuals better for 99% watching this

this is the most informative video I've seen on these days
i used that same stuff on a 1929 typewriter, works really good.
Thanks for this video. I used to use Brasso and looking for something without that strong smell! Just wondering if the serial number survived…
This worked its insane like magic!

does it affect the logo? i don’t want to accidentally erase it.
Nope! Logo's will look the same!
@@ThatDudeArvai thanks. i tried it an hour ago, and it looks brand new! thanks for the tutorial.
@@tweeleaf no problem!
@@tweeleaf i used an angle grinding polishing pad and took a good few seconds before erasing the logo (spare metal back as practice)

@@ThatDudeArvai Any recommendations for the plastic polish?
@@BizgroupBizgroup I do not. I would research before buying!
5000 & 7000 Wet & dry paper with a little water or olive oil followed by some green compound and a buffer wheel. Be scratch free and like a mirror
Does it work for U2 iPod? I mean the signatures.
I don't think it would ruin any of that as it's laser engraved just like the rest of the writing on back.

still have the sunfire?
Haha! No, the Sunfire is long gone. Sold it in 2015 to buy a Cobalt SS.
what about the front?
he said you can in the video...
Leftie
What a nonsense, 47 dlls the kream and in aliexpress the back cover cost 7dlls or amazon..
$47? The polish is only $8.45 at this moment and is much easier than replacing the rear back case.
