    I hope this absolute marvel of Lotus/Communist engineering is still running in 2022. It's seriously such a beautiful car.

      Звучит как политический расизм. Эта машина называется Лада, а не коммунистическая инженерия.

      @@burkezillar 1000 hours of Lotus Engineers time, all in, would count for most of that expenditure.

    • @sparrowlt
      @sparrowlt Рік тому +4

      @@burkezillar it was estimated on how many hours the engineers at Lotus expent on the car and how much would cost in hours as what they bill costumers.. they probably didnt billed nearly that much to the BBC as it was more like an advertisement.. even in the show they dont say "we paid 100K" but "you know how much it would cost you for Lotus to do this? 100K! so you are very greatfull to this guys". If you do it yourself or even in a local garage it would be much cheaper depending on how deep you wanna get (replacing the engine powertrain and suspension, tuning of the engine and then maybe weld-reinforce the body)

      @@sparrowlt it might be cheaper somehow but it takes more time and help from others you might end up neglect it or take it to workshop to be worked on by professionals.

    Looks more like a Fiat/Lancia engine

    • @sparrowlt
      @sparrowlt Рік тому

      Probably ...this car its basically a russian Fiat 124..the 124 had 1.8 and 2.0L twin cam engines with plenty of upgrades avalaible (in racing tunes they could easily go over 200hp naturally aspirated so this wasnt even the hardest tune they could do) .. so it probably was easy to get a 1.8 or 2.0 fiat engine wich would fit in the car without much modification and tune it

    • @Iceni_Paul
      @Iceni_Paul 3 роки тому +3

      P.I Staker So the fact that it was stripped and rebuilt at Hethel by Lotus Motorsport means nothing? They tuned the suspension, retrimmed the interior and lots more. Yes the engine was a Guy-Croft tuned Fiat twin cam, but that was only a part of it. Still, judging by the name you’re using I’d guess you were just fishing for a bite and not worried about small matters like facts.
