Excellent point about ISS air leaks. The size of the 'cabin' or 'cockpit' of the U2 means the reaction time to an emergency is much much quicker than the ISS. For the same leak rate you obviously have much less time to deal with it in a tiny cockpit before pressure has dropped to dangerous levels. And while there are certainly a lot of hazards in orbit, remember that the ISS pressure envelope is basically static, very little is needed for the pressure to be maintained. But in a U2, it's constantly being 'ventilated' by incoming air from the engines and venting, a bit like a commercial aircraft cabin. I'd also point out that during launch, a very risky phase of space flight, astronauts DO where pressure suits. Again, the dynamic manner in which cabin pressure is lowering from standard atmosphere on the pad to the lower pressure/ mixture used in space, along with the very small compartment size would make reaction times to an emergency so short that the pressure suit is warranted.
@@Tom--pf8ubLOL Yes because as any flerf will tell you, a vacuum of 1e-4 torr is much less dangerous than one 1e-14 torr. The latter 'sucks' so much harder.... hehehe

*Mikey,* have you ever heard that Venus is often referred to as "the morning star" or "the evening star"? That tends to indicate that we see it from the edges of the nighttime area of the Earth, not the middle of the night as you claim during your demonstration. As Dan points out, if you are in the dark sky morning or evening zone and Venus is not aligned between Earth and Sun (or on the far side of the Sun) then it can be visible.
Not to mention there _is_ a time Venus is directly between the Sun and the Earth. That's called the "New" phase, and crucicially, *we can't see it and don't expect to*. I'm suddenly wondering if any flerf has ever attempted to explain the phases of Venus.
Mikey says: "I don't care if it's twilight, dusk or dawn" and that's where he's completely wrong. @@NeutralDrow Well, CC's (or any other flerf's) Venus didn't show any phases, but it had 9 corners from the aperture blades. 🤪

Without you, I'd never have known about the ice wall, the second (tiny) moon, or that guy who couldn't figure out phases of the moon even though the sun was lighting one side of his face just like the moon. The other day in my science (high school) class, I was able to snappily respond, "I'm going to say firmament." when a student asked what happens when you fly off the edge of the world. Thank you, Dan, for the outer lands (Who knows how many continents could be beyond the ice wall?) and for promoting Emma Thorne and Dave McKeegan so I could learn all about photography and atheist gaming. Looking forward to your other, future videos.
What a prime selection for the last compilation. The final one was just so absurd, I found myself literally shaking my head and sighing. Looking forward tonwhat thebfuture brings!
I think I'm actually beginning to hate LEO. Not because he's deluded or uneducated, that would be extremely unfair, it's the tone. He's got such a smarmy tone it's quite infuriating. I don't think he'd be able to speak for more than 30 second in an English pub before someone ejected him.
Hi Dan. It was your channel that was first in a chain of causal links that brought me into the skeptic space. From you, to Creaky and Sir Sic, to SkepTick, Emma Thorne, then finally to the ACA. Now I'm a host on Talk Heathen and Atheist Experience, and your channel was the first step on that journey, and this segment was the inception point. Thank you!
Errrr, if the ISS is not real, why would the astronauts have procedures to handle leaks? And to say that the pilot's blood would boil "instantly" is a serious exaggeration.
Well, trying to 'shame' people and trying to establish that "anyone who thinks xyz is a 'moron'" is a pretty lame tactic, I agree. A bit like schoolyard, "Oh yeah? Well I double-dog dare you to ....". When you have the mentality of a 10 year old, those sorts of things work because they feel the need to 'fit in' and be part of the 'cool kids'.
Oh Mikey, there’s nothing more adorable than watching a child’s mind discovering and piecing together the world around them… …and there’s nothing more hilariously pompous than the fact that you think you can just ‘debunk’ that world after only having been exercising conscious thought for approximately 3 years (especially when it sounds like for you, getting even one single thought out is equivalent to any other human after reading an entire library worth of physics textbooks lol 😄)
In the first Mikey clip, you have to wonder like... has he never actually looked at Venus in the night sky? You have to be looking towards the sun every single time. There's a reason it's known as the Morning/Evening Star.
Laser thermometers are for measuring surface temperatures. It’s always hilarious to me when someone thinks they can aim it 20 feet away and think they’re getting the exact temp of whatever the laser is on.
There is still _Flat Earth Friday,_ it's just the fail compilations that he has been using to take fail segments that are too short to make a video from, and putting them together so it *_is_* big enough to make a video. I guess he will just stop using the small segments, or wait until he has enough of the small segments from the same flat Earther.
I think that last one is even worse than you pointed out. I think he's wondering how people in the ocean can still see the sun at all. The answer, of course, is that the sun isn't sitting right up against the Earth like his laser pointer is. Even if it was (somehow without destroying the planet) it is so big compared to the Earth that it would still be visible and the light would be seen globally. So, Mikey failed to think in three dimensions in his first one and then failed to understand scale in his second one.
I love the way these flerfers set up an experiment in their mum's basement and think they've proved something after an hour. Yet 100's of years ago, greats like Newton and Gallileo spent years observing and developing theories.
I'm sad that it is over, but happy that it happened. Also, knowing that new stuff is coming to take the place of the series is a good silver lining. Can't wait for that!
Didn't expect to see Lord British in this series. Richard Garriott created the Ultima series of computer games, where he created the fictional persona of "Lord British, and is also a huge fan of space travel (he went up to the ISS in 2008). I also learned recently he is the son of a NASA astronaut which is pretty neat.
Goodbye Flat Earth Friday It's been fun watching you break down all of the Flat Earth clips. I suspect there would have been enough material for another 50 compilation videos.
_Flat Earth Friday_ isn't going anywhere. He is just discontinuing the "fail compilations," that he used for shorter segments from flat Earthers. He put the short segments together into the "compilations" because, individually, they were too short to make a full video.
Thank you Dan, I usually don't comment under videos, but this time let me tell I really enjoyed your videos and their quality. I think I started following you since the compilation was in single digit and I got captivated ever since. Can't wait for next phase.
I think LEO is one of my favourite flerf, just because of his amazing ability to create confirmations to his conspiracy theory out of thin air. A guy says "if we have a leak, we have a leak, we'll probably seal it" and LEO somehow makes it sound like this is irrefutable evidence that the ISS is fake, the Earth is flat and all of physics we know today is just plain wrong. Just because a guy used the word "probably". LEO should write a book, his ability to create narratives is unmatched. On the other hand CC is probably my least favourite flerf just because of how pathetic he is, I did enjoy this clip of him though, because that is truly a monumental fail. I can buy a decent telescope for about 100-200€ here where I live and I bet I could see Venus clearly if I used that. It's so incredibly easy to see planets the way they actually look like, yet flerfs like CC fail so hard that they are unable to do even that. It's like they are purposefully dodging the evidence that contradicts them. CC, I beg you, buy a normal telescope and look up. I'll even donate some money to you for it. The evidence is literally right there, yet you're not focusing on it. Literally.
Does Mikey think that there’s just one point of reflection on the water from the Sun, similar to the laser pointer? People at different viewpoints would have their own reflection unique to them. And this would actually be visible for thousands of miles to the ‘left and right’ of the Sun, not in distance away from it.
It's very difficult to discern what he's thinking, but he has definitely misconstrued something that he heard about the sun's reflection. I'm just not sure what or how.
Also I didn't get a good look at what he was pointing at but if it's sunset at east coast US, the guy in west Africa(?) Is not going to be seeing the sun on the sea 'the same' it will be the middle of the night for them.
The Flat-Earther method: 1) Take a theory that has been tested thousands/millions of times in science and has shown to be reliable. 2) Totally misunderstand how that theory works and create your own version of that theory. 3) Get confused because your version of the theory doesn't work. 4) Assume that you understood the original theory perfectly and you didn't make any mistakes about it. 5) Create a video showing that the original theory doesn't work and can't possibly be true and also laugh a lot saying things like "They are lying to you". 6) Ignore any evidence from the response of your video that shows you totally misunderstood the original theory. 7) Go back to step 1
This is so sweet! I live in the Caribbean, and there is an octopus that lives in a tide pool I often visit. Over several visits, he/she has learned to rencognize me, and knows that I bring a treat and let them explore my hand. I am always worried it will be gone the next time I go. That's my little buddy.
Same thing Colloquially we would usually say "blah blah blah... per cubic metre", but scientifically it's more likely to be stated as "blah blah blah... per metre cubed".
The problem is that mocking them just proves their own case for them. What Dan describes as a "fail" is totally obvious to us, but certainly not for Flerfs or their target audience. . For example, that last one, it needs to be exlained in very very simple terms how sunsets work on a globe. Without that, the Flerfs have the ammunition to show that Globies just don't know the answers to these simple observations.
Flat earther#s claims of which Mikey's is one of many, have been debunked countless times over many years, that will not, however, prevent them from being repeated ad infinitum, ad nauseam.
@@grahvis - yeah, but the bigger problem is what stops those Flerfs from "converting" other numpties? Within the "Flerf religion", the sermons pre-empt that Globies will provide some obtuse, complicated and difficult to understand "proof" that conflicts with the Flerfishly simple explanations. So unfortunately, offering valid scientic debunks doesn't change the minds of the faithful and also won't usually prevent their target victims from falling under the spell.
@@johncoops6897. Flat earthers are impervious to explanation, they are not interested. It took me all the way to the 50th episode of Flat Earth Compilation to finally get that the man’s name is LEO and not Ellio lol
more like saying if you have a small hole in a bottle cap, it will sink instantly, so with that in mind, if you have the same size hole in a ferry, it will also sink instantly.

What? Oh... he's not ending the channel? Just FEF compilations? Got it. Sorry. *ahem* Keep up the great work Dan! Can't wait for your next video! Always top-notch stuff. Thanks for all that you do. Let's hit that half-a-million subscriber mark! :)
So, NASA actually fake something with that card trick, and flatearthers think its real.
This says a lot about them.
Thanks for the series, Dan. I've watched those since covid lockdown and now this is the ending. Good luck for your work as content creator.
I had an atheist flat Earther tried telling me about the giant dome and all of that stuff. I asked her who created the dome and she about blew a gasket and stormed off. The rest of the family is still mad at me "for ruining Thanksgiving".
lol
well is it really Thanksgiving without the most deluded family member that doesn't actually talk to people much using it as an excuse to validate their insane viewpoint upon a perceived captive audience? and the inevitable argument and barmy from the decision to not give an inch on any personal delusions having been made before even leaving the house that morning?
thought that was as traditional as the burnt bird bodies at this point.
I would pay money to talk to an atheist flat earther, religious flat earthers are boring at this rate.
I don't see how that would ruin Thanksgiving. Sounds more like the highlight
End of a journey, start of another. Thank you for always making us learn and laugh, dan!
Congrats on finishing a journey of 50 compilations, Dan. As one who's been along from the first one, I can safely say that facepalm protection was indeed essential.
Cheers to the journey ahead.
🥂🥳
Totally agree. I caught you from about 12 and got hooked very quickly. Excellent series 😊
Got introduced to your channel thanks to your Flat earth Fridays. Been enjoying your content ever since. It's sad to see this series go away but I always welcome a new one.
If the Earth was flat, cats would have knocked everything off the edge.
If it were a ball, dogs would have already chewed it up.
Spectacular how people like Mikey Smith call people who understand physics Morons, then proceed to make statements that contradict physics. Amazing!
Love it that LEO uses what he thinks one government agency is saying to try and debunk another government agency, because he doesn't believe government agencies 🤡🤣
How obvious it is LEO it talking from his butt.
Re-watch the compilations, you can see the evolution of Dan's reaction becoming more lively and animated. It has gotten very good👌👌
Frat Erf Friday here we goooooooooo! But omg what a sad one, no more Fail Compilations! These have been one of my favourites series ever :D
REALLY pleased to see how fast your subs have gone up recently, it must be the shorts engaging with people but whatever it is massive congratulations, its at 499K right now... Half mill here it comes! Here's to another half million and continuing amazing content. Thanks Dan!
But! But the ISS is so much higher! Surely a pinprick hole in a compartment the size of a school buss will kill everyone in seconds!!
@@Tom--pf8ubLOL Yes because as any flerf will tell you, a vacuum of 1e-4 torr is much less dangerous than one 1e-14 torr. The latter 'sucks' so much harder.... hehehe
So glad I could be here or flatter fail compilation 50! After watching all of them I feel like I've been through the roller coaster of good and bad, the ugly and the crazy! Thank you so much for all of this ❤
so, according to CC, if i look in my wallet and cross my eyes, i'll suddenly have twice as much money, right?
I’m sad to see it go but happy I got to watch it grow!
@@NeutralDrow They have conspicuously never attempted to explain the phases of the Moon, so forget them explaining the phases of anything else.
@@NeutralDrow Probably not, but if/when they do, they almost certainly get it wrong!
@@NeutralDrow Usually when confronted with things that can't possibly be explained in their system they say something like "That's a mystery we weren't meant to know."
I’m going to miss this series, and now I’m starting to worry your channel is going to change too much 🥺. I’ve been watching since your very first episode and loved every step you’ve taken, but please don’t change so much so we won’t recognise it. Thank you, Dan, for this epic serie. I'm gonna miss it. Looking forward for whatever comes next... 😁
Thanks, Dan. I think you're right. It is time. Although I hope you know how much I appreciate your series.
I don't normally do direct insults but whoever taught Mikey Smith how to record videos and upload them to UA-cam is a fool. Or a genius. You decide.

For any military context, dying within 2 minutes of exposure to low-pressure air is pretty much "instant"
An exaggeration to make a point. If the pilot were to lose consciousness his blood would boil eventually, possibly later on impact.
50. 50 FEF episodes and still there's so much material we could go for 50 more at least. Thank you for making these Dan.
If only the fails would also come to an end, but that will never happen. Oh well, we can dream.
Level Earth belittling Don is hilarious. Level Earth doesn’t understand that to get to Don’s position you have to be insanely intelligent.
As opposed to a flat Earther, where you only have to be insane.
11:38 The irony of Mikey calling people morons. He doesn’t even understand what he does in his own experiments. The guy needs to get a job.
He tends to call everyone morons , I think it's projection
A job?? Impossible. Make it a hobby of something. Just anything.. Rgr
So much stress! How can Dan watch these? The Niburu lady in an earlier video was ASMR by comparison.
CC used a tripod for that Venus shot. Got to give him that much. Well done.
If the guy with the Solar System in his floor can explain the 'Mars rotation' which we see from earth, than I would listen to another explanation...
Mikey has a unique way to win around people into his way of thinking! Calling the very people you want to convert to your side "morons" :🤣🤣
Well, he IS alone out there in the "know"... Rgr
Considering that even most morons know the Earth is spherical, what does that say about flat Earthers?
Oh Mikey, there’s nothing more adorable than watching a child’s mind discovering and piecing together the world around them…
…and there’s nothing more hilariously pompous than the fact that you think you can just ‘debunk’ that world after only having been exercising conscious thought for approximately 3 years (especially when it sounds like for you, getting even one single thought out is equivalent to any other human after reading an entire library worth of physics textbooks lol 😄)
In the first Mikey clip, you have to wonder like... has he never actually looked at Venus in the night sky? You have to be looking towards the sun every single time. There's a reason it's known as the Morning/Evening Star.

I just love how confident and arrogant these dummies are.
We've hit the ice wall. THEY won't let us go any further.
Who's they? Are they in the room right now?
The ice-wall is like the brains of flatearthers, it lacks any evidence and it doesn't exist.
Laser thermometers are for measuring surface temperatures. It’s always hilarious to me when someone thinks they can aim it 20 feet away and think they’re getting the exact temp of whatever the laser is on.
What am I going to do now? Without FEFC, I won't be able to achieve my ambition of lowering my IQ to the level of a flerfer by the time I retire.
We'll miss Flat Earth Fails. But I bet, that the next series will be amazing!
All of the flerfers are honing their skills, I´m certain of that!! Rgr
I love how they NEVER mention the fact that the hammer DOESN'T drop🤦♂️😂
RIP Flat Earth. We'll never forget you and the laughs we had along the way.
Never spaghetti, no more. 😔
I love the way these flerfers set up an experiment in their mum's basement and think they've proved something after an hour. Yet 100's of years ago, greats like Newton and Gallileo spent years observing and developing theories.
U got that right guessing not factual evidence that's why it's easy to debunk
I'm sad that it is over, but happy that it happened. Also, knowing that new stuff is coming to take the place of the series is a good silver lining. Can't wait for that!
Didn't expect to see Lord British in this series. Richard Garriott created the Ultima series of computer games, where he created the fictional persona of "Lord British, and is also a huge fan of space travel (he went up to the ISS in 2008). I also learned recently he is the son of a NASA astronaut which is pretty neat.
Owen Garriot is pretty significant as NASA astronauts are concerned, being one of the Skylab OGs
9:53 He's honestly not even thinking 2 dimensionally here.
Great video Dan. I love that he sticks a laser to a globe to try and prove a point 😅. Flat earthers are so funny.
Omg! how is it possible being so .... ??? My hat off to who has the patience to explain. Great series!
Nothing epitomises the Flat Earth Fail compilations as much as CC saying or doing something totally daft. A fitting way to sign off the series.!
Goodbye Flat Earth Friday It's been fun watching you break down all of the Flat Earth clips. I suspect there would have been enough material for another 50 compilation videos.
Well said 😊
_Flat Earth Friday_ isn't going anywhere. He is just discontinuing the "fail compilations," that he used for shorter segments from flat Earthers.
He put the short segments together into the "compilations" because, individually, they were too short to make a full video.
Thanks for the series. But I do agree that the format became a little repetitive. I hope we will get something even better!
Thank you Dan, I usually don't comment under videos, but this time let me tell I really enjoyed your videos and their quality. I think I started following you since the compilation was in single digit and I got captivated ever since.
Can't wait for next phase.
I can just imagine CC getting all excited about his discovery, and thinking he can win his wife back by showing her this new proof.
Oh did she finally kick him out ?
*Congratulations on reaching 500,000 subscribers...well deserved!*
Literally.
Thankyou Dan for your vids. Looking forward to what you will put out next Friday.
Your patience is stronger than Roman concrete.
Come on this won't be the last I'll miss it
Thank you for all the work over the last 50 episodes. Always a fun way to get a chuckle on a Friday. Looking forward to the future programming.
Does Mikey think that there’s just one point of reflection on the water from the Sun, similar to the laser pointer? People at different viewpoints would have their own reflection unique to them. And this would actually be visible for thousands of miles to the ‘left and right’ of the Sun, not in distance away from it.
Does Mikey think? No. No, he doesn't.
The Flat-Earther method:
1) Take a theory that has been tested thousands/millions of times in science and has shown to be reliable.
Last one? Surely not Dan. Enough guff to go forever!
Its a shame that flat earthers won't stop making videos that make your videos necessary to fight the misinformation and ignorance.

Flat earthers are impervious to explanation, they are not interested. Very few ever watch videos from flat earth debunkers
I once asked a flat earther in the comments on their video, what was the distance round the Equator. He replied about 24,900 miles.
I then showed how that meant the Earth could not possibly be flat. He had no comeback other than to claim I was making assumptions, though could not say what they were. He is still making flat earth videos.

How truly fitting it is that the final flat earth fail compilation is episode 50, or Episode L.
Haha! Biggest series of L's they've taken
LEO hears "if cabin loses pressure" in a small jet aircraft and equates that to "if there's a small leak" on the ISS. Ridiculous.
