if you really understand the story you'll know that Jipyeong deserves her more. He may forced by grandma to write her letters before but you can see how time goes on, he looked sincere writing and reading those letter. He was just in denial with his feeling. He wanted to tell the truth before but what did Dosan do.... He said he was helping them. Everytime Dalmi and Jipyeong talks Dosan would INTERRUPT, like the boy has his way to ruin a conversation.
Its because he took too long being in denial with his feelings, it ended up this way. It isn't a matter of who deserves her more, it became a matter of who loved her more.
well dal mi doesnt like hjp anymore because when she came to know about truth, she said to do san "tell me hjp is telling lie, tell me you were the one who wrote me letter and were the one I waited for 15 years" so yea she is now attached to Do san more now...

“i want THEM and it feels so unfair” it all started with dalmi’s familly and jipyeong. they showed us this broken boy with a huge heart and how he turned into a “cold” successful guy by working hard then want us to just forget about it. there would be no story without jipyeong. letters, him finding halmeoni again, finding dosan, helping dalmi.. he’s been there since the very beginning and deserves to have all the best this drama can offer. i absolutely hate the way he’s the best choice but the writers try to make him dirty every episode. hope he has a great ending. i truly love him.

Obviously Nam Dosan is lucky. He gets everything without working to get it. I give 100$ that if it wasnt HJP she wouldn’t even talk to Dosan. In earlier series we remember she hates guys who cant keep the conversation and i bet my money he wouldn’t be able. The only reason she heard him out because she thought it was Dosan from letters aka HJP

If it was like in Holo Love or Love alarm or others I wouldn’t be mad since the female lead has spent time with both male mcs and has to ACTUALLY choose. Also i hate how Dosan lies/manipulates to get Dalmi. And the fact that his friends didnt let him talk to Dalmi cause Dosan should be with her. I guess the luck is on his side. The contest that he won because of luck, him being Dosan from the letters one day, getting to sand box because of Dalmi, her getting him through with the demonstration day. I appreciate his work on codes and programs, but i bet everyone who signed up for sand box is skilled

I just feel like Dosan doesn't need Dalmi as a girlfriend .he needs Dalmi as a friend who can help him to achieve everything he deserves and boost his confidence . On the other hand Jipyeong needs Dalmi as a life partner because jp needs someone who will love him and cherish him . understand him . He have everything still he have nothing . He needs a family who will teach him how to show emotions . Dalmi and her grandmother are those who can be his family .I hope writers can give him his proper happy ending
I totally agree! Dosan only needs Dalmi as a friend whereas HJP actually NEEDS her and her company as a lover. When Dalmi was at her worst HJP was there for her, she even said it herself that he's the only reason she got through those hard times. Even though the letter writing began with the grandma's help HJP is the one who wrote them and he put his actual feelings into the letters, they were REAL penpals even though Dalmi thinks it was fake now. So, I feel its only fair that Dalmi does the same for HJP. He needs her at his toughest times and she should be there for him.

Dalmi treasured the letters for *15 years*, she literally lived her life holding on and cherishing the contents of those letters but when she finally knew that it was actually Han Ji Pyeong who wrote everything, it seemed like she just brushed it off. The letters were the start of everything. And yet its meaning faded as if it wasnt important in the first place. And that's what im really disappointed about. P.S. If Dosan and Dami met in different circumstances, if Dalmi met Dosan as just a normal nerdy person, not as the "person in the letters", i doubt Dalmi would even take a second look at him. She looked at him favorably at the start because she thought she was then man in the letters, if not for that, there wouldnt be any romance.

You said everything that i think. The letters were so important for her. And she said her grandma that she would choose the one that send the letters if she had to. But when she find out that Mr. Han was the one who sent them she didn’t even care. I expected at least a conversation about it. They had a real connection they understood each other but no one talked about it. She didn’t care about being him first love. Nam Dosan is a good guy i don’t have a problem with it but why she didn’t care about those letters? It really broke my heart.

Can I just say, I don’t think Jipyeong feels like the male lead because he’s a stereoypical handsome and rich guy... that’s not it at all? There have been plenty of cases where the rich successful guy is the second male lead.. this is obviously about how the narrative revolves heavily around him. Jipyeong is in every story. He’s how they start something. It’s like someone in the writers room is like, idk give this to Jipyeong. How does this start? Jipyeong. Why does this happen? Jipyeong. How will this get revealed? Jipyeong. Who helps this character? Jipyeong. Who will come in at the last minute? Jipyeong. He’s literally everywhere. He’s literally in everything. He’s the question and the answer. It’s all building on top of him. He got more going on than everyone else. They’re all doing one thing and this man is running in different directions. That’s why.

I get that the kdrama is trying to change things up and have the male lead have "second lead" characteristics and the childhood plot line or "first loves" not to end up with each other BUT SERIOUSLY IM A SUCKER FOR SOFT MALE LEADS BUT DOSAN AIN'T IT-- he's a cinnamon roll and he's adorable BUT HAN JIPYEONG DESERVES SO MUCH ;-; My heart literally broke when he confessed that he liked dalmi and how he wants to tell her the truth, but he still ended up telling grandma he'll get dalmi's letters and give them to dosan because he knows that they're already too far in the lie and he and grandma doesn't want Dalmi (and Dosan) to get hurt BUT DAMNIT ARGH Not to mention, Suzy and Seonho's chemistry is amazing. Why do I feel like Nam Joo Hyuk's chemistry with his lead partners are always off? (with the exception of Lee Sung Kyung of course) I swear my heart fluttered more with Dalmi and Jipyeong's handshake rooftop scene than Dalmi and Dosan's kissing rooftop scene. Also why do I feel like the writers will make Jipyeong's character bad?? If they do that just for the sake of the DoDal ship I'm out and I'm rioting.
Maybe he loves sung kyung so much that he can't get into roles being in love with other woman I guess. His acting is actually good in my opinion but it's just the chemistry is not that strong

I suddenly remember the uproar for the second lead (yook sungjae/gong tae kwang) to get the girl in School 2015 and sungjae and kim sohyun even won the best couple award when kim sohyun’s lead partner is supposedly nam joo hyuk😂

I am going crazy i hate this so much i have never rooted for a character with this intensity and passion for once can the writer listen to us he is everything a women needs and he is the only character that has some character development in this serie , I am so sorry njh but nds is whiny and and i dont vibe with him at all he gets annoying over time its reasonable why people are hating the character plzzz i hate the kdrama structure of male lead and second lead , people should end together if they fit together and in this case hjp and daalmi are perfection together
I’m able to understand that you dislike the alternative party since we have different perspectives, however what’s ridiculous is that people are bashing and slandering Nam Do San when he isn’t even the fiend here. He had no intentions to hurt Dalmi and was the actual one who wanted to confess to Dalmi about the entire situation before it was too late, however Jipyeong contradicted and prolonged it until she found out about it on her own. You probably don’t empathize with him since he’s a reclusive kermit-like person however he’s never been whiny, and there’s literally unfounded evidence that he’s been overwhelmingly annoying other than when Jipyeong pitted with him. I know the both of the love interested endeavored to accommodate her, however romantically and in terms of personally it would have to be Nam Do Sam. He was the one to affirm and endorse her when she found out about her grandmother’s visual impairment, He was there for her after the heartbreak of the confrontation with her mother, He incentivized and reassured her when everybody abandoned and questioned her authority as the CEO due to the equity jetting. However Jipyeong had his chance to apprise Dalmi his feelings however he kept on downplaying and throwing away the opportunities.
@@helenncao this comment made me feel bad for hjp even more. An an abandoned child, he was scared of having relationships. I know it’s hard for me growing up that way and how timid I was in terms of getting into relationships. An orphan loses all the time because he is not equipped emotionally or society thinks he doesn’t deserve some happiness. Those who can express themselves like nam do San have that courage because they grew up with supportive families whereas hjp knows he only has himself to rely on, thus the fear. It’s a heartbreaking character.

He didn't KNOW Dal Mi until adulthood since he left for university and even then she was about 13 so a relationship/feelings from him at that time would have been major yikes. Also, he liked Dal Mi before Do San showed up - he laughed along with her in the first episode. He was just reluctant to admit it because no one in his life that he could love has ever stayed - not his parents, not Dal Mi's grandmother, not even a close friend it seems (since he doesn't seem to interact with young guys other than the Samsan Tech boys and goes home to an empty apartment). Admitting his feelings even to himself would open up the potential for heartbreak. He also knew if he admitted his feelings to himself it would have made the situation that much harder - even when he wanted to admit his feelings for her, he chose to be selfless and not tell Dal Mi he likes her because he knew it would hurt her to find out about the lies. The only reason he EVER admits his feelings is because Dal Mi finally found out by herself. If she hadn't Ji Pyeong may well have kept his feelings hidden forever to prevent her heartbreak. Therein lies the difference between Ji Pyeong and Do San - the first wanted to keep the lie going because he wanted Dal Mi to be happy even if she's not with him while the second wanted to keep the lie going because he wants to "win" Dal Mi, even if it's through deception.

This is beautiful and THE SONG CHOICE!? Outstanding. 🖤🖤 I usually get stuck with second lead syndrome for most dramas anyway but this is hitting me the hardest out of all of them. I haven't felt this way since Cheese and the Trap. This is my first K-drama, so maybe I am looking at it with naive eyes, but I think that Ji Pyeong will end up with Dal Mi. I read so much about second lead syndrome that I thought there was no chance, but story-wise it would make no sense for her to end up with Do San. If we had seen Do San from the beginning, maybe, but since we have focused on Ji Pyeong’s story from episode 1 I think he is end game. All the marketing has featured Suzy and Joo-Hyuk because they are more famous as leading actors. Kim Seon-Ho will clearly be a leading man from now on, but at the beginning of the series he was less famous. All I know is, I will be seriously sad AND mad if Ji-Pyeong doesn’t get true love!
I felt so sad in ep 12, when jp visits dal-mi's grandmother, it was a touching scene! It's sad how everything really turns out so that he really isn't chosen. In each episode the writers praise the feelings between dosan and dalmi leaving the wonderful "good boy" as just a mentor, since he has so much story to tell and it really manages to captivate us even more each chapter. JP really deserves a happy ending and not having your character deconstructed in each scene so the first lead will be the perfect guy!
I know that the plot evolves around the start up metaphora, and how Dosan (start up) evolves to be better than a big company (ji pyeong). But please dont break our hearts in the process 😭. Absolutelly team ji pyeong! 👏💓

I- I really wish even if the writers initially planned dosan to be the end game, they’ll change the plot and make Han Ji Pyeong to be the end game instead. Srsly can’t even watch all that lovey dovey stuff between Dosan and Dalmi now, makes me want to skip those parts to Han Ji Pyeong and I usuallly never skip past scenes. I’m not gonna lie, Dosan’s character now starting to irritate me, I don’t know, I’m just not into super clingy, immature and doesn’t know what’s space is type of guy. Even when his friends were blocking Han Ji pyeong from talking to her, irritated me even more. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this strongly about a character, Kim Seon Ho is really amazing 💕💕

why do you skip? why watch a drama if ur gonna be salty af anyway, i don't get the toxicity of HJP shippers, like dude you watched the drama then freaking watch it all, not skip episodes/scenes just because you don't like them. Okay im going to go deep right now. I feel like this drama is like a lot of korean dramas, that even if the second-lead is a better option or has best chemistry with the lead actress, at the end the most good looking guy will win the girl, no plot twist, no nothing. I know we don't have to generalize, but Korea is a very superficial country (i have studied there for two months and know the basic of their society and culture for anyone who tells me otherwise) and for me its pretty obvious that a good looking lead, is pretty much the reason that he end up with the girl. Now, im not saying that second leads are ugly omg, just that in korean standars usually the lead actor is better looking for them. My point here is, I have a very strong feeling that in Korea most of the girls or anyone watching this drama, will be rooting for the lead and not second-lead, its sucks but sadly in Korea looks matter in a very big scale compared to western countries, so for anyone asking for a plot twist in the drama meaning that the second lead will be the lead at the end, let me spoil it for u, he will not. As i said i do not believe everyone in Korea thinks like this, just the majority. its an opinion tho okay :)

Even for korean standards Kim Seon Ho aka Ji Pyong is more handsome that the first lead, but isn’t a matter of looks in here but of notoriety. Nam Joo Hyuk is way famous than KSH, but this doesn’t mean this plot story doesn’t make sense. The first lead has all the annoying traits of a second “female” lead. In kdrama world you start the story with the main lead not the second lead. This is all messed up

I'm convinced kdrama producers take amazing actors as second leads cause they know the hallyu stars lack screen presence. I mean both true beauty and startup had such classy and amazing second leads and their acting was top notch. Glad we're noticing second leads too and they're finally getting the recognition they deserve
In which Kdrama logic do they start a story with the back story of the supposed second lead. Like does that make sense, the first few episodes we knew more about hjp and his relationship and value to Dal mi and the grandma than about dosan. Do san was just a stranger until a few episodes ago and without hjp he didn’t even have enough depth to his character to carry the story. I don’t understand the writer’s logic.. it doesn’t make sense to make hjp a second lead after everything.
Ji Pyeong's story is the first thing we know since episode 1. We were attached to his stories,his background growing up without parents, he is so close with grandma and writing the letters to Dal mi. I am so glad that at least at the end he be honest with Dal Mi that he love Dal Mi even he know he will not get her but he is honest with himself. To be honest, the writers did a great job makes us all of us crazy about this second lead in the drama and makes his stories so beautiful yet the most pitiful and lonely person. Ji Pyeong ah, if you really exists is a real life,lets not get more lonelier.

if you really understand the story you'll know that Jipyeong deserves her more. He may forced by grandma to write her letters before but you can see how time goes on, he looked sincere writing and reading those letter. He was just in denial with his feeling. He wanted to tell the truth before but what did Dosan do.... He said he was helping them. Everytime Dalmi and Jipyeong talks Dosan would INTERRUPT, like the boy has his way to ruin a conversation.
Its because he took too long being in denial with his feelings, it ended up this way. It isn't a matter of who deserves her more, it became a matter of who loved her more.

it all started with dalmi’s familly and jipyeong. they showed us this broken boy with a huge heart and how he turned into a “cold” successful guy by working hard then want us to just forget about it. there would be no story without jipyeong. letters, him finding halmeoni again, finding dosan, helping dalmi.. he’s been there since the very beginning and deserves to have all the best this drama can offer. i absolutely hate the way he’s the best choice but the writers try to make him dirty every episode. hope he has a great ending. i truly love him.

When Dalmi was at her worst HJP was there for her, she even said it herself that he's the only reason she got through those hard times. Even though the letter writing began with the grandma's help HJP is the one who wrote them and he put his actual feelings into the letters, they were REAL penpals even though Dalmi thinks it was fake now. So, I feel its only fair that Dalmi does the same for HJP. He needs her at his toughest times and she should be there for him.

Dalmi treasured the letters for *15 years*, she literally lived her life holding on and cherishing the contents of those letters but when she finally knew that it was actually Han Ji Pyeong who wrote everything, it seemed like she just brushed it off. The letters were the start of everything. And yet its meaning faded as if it wasnt important in the first place. And that's what im really disappointed about.
P.S. If Dosan and Dami met in different circumstances, if Dalmi met Dosan as just a normal nerdy person, not as the "person in the letters", i doubt Dalmi would even take a second look at him. She looked at him favorably at the start because she thought she was then man in the letters, if not for that, there wouldnt be any romance.

But when she find out that Mr. Han was the one who sent them she didn’t even care. I expected at least a conversation about it. They had a real connection they understood each other but no one talked about it. She didn’t care about being him first love. Nam Dosan is a good guy i don’t have a problem with it but why she didn’t care about those letters? It really broke my heart.

Can I just say, I don’t think Jipyeong feels like the male lead because he’s a stereoypical handsome and rich guy... that’s not it at all? There have been plenty of cases where the rich successful guy is the second male lead.. this is obviously about how the narrative revolves heavily around him. Jipyeong is in every story. He’s how they start something. It’s like someone in the writers room is like, idk give this to Jipyeong. How does this start? Jipyeong. Why does this happen? Jipyeong. How will this get revealed? Jipyeong. Who helps this character? Jipyeong. Who will come in at the last minute? Jipyeong. He’s literally everywhere. He’s literally in everything. He’s the question and the answer.
It’s all building on top of him. He got more going on than everyone else. They’re all doing one thing and this man is running in different directions. That’s why.

Not to mention, Suzy and Seonho's chemistry is amazing. Why do I feel like Nam Joo Hyuk's chemistry with his lead partners are always off? (with the exception of Lee Sung Kyung of course) I swear my heart fluttered more with Dalmi and Jipyeong's handshake rooftop scene than Dalmi and Dosan's kissing rooftop scene.
Also why do I feel like the writers will make Jipyeong's character bad?? If they do that just for the sake of the DoDal ship I'm out and I'm rioting.

I’m able to understand that you dislike the alternative party since we have different perspectives, however what’s ridiculous is that people are bashing and slandering Nam Do San when he isn’t even the fiend here. He had no intentions to hurt Dalmi and was the actual one who wanted to confess to Dalmi about the entire situation before it was too late, however Jipyeong contradicted and prolonged it until she found out about it on her own. You probably don’t empathize with him since he’s a reclusive kermit-like person however he’s never been whiny, and there’s literally unfounded evidence that he’s been overwhelmingly annoying other than when Jipyeong pitted with him. I know the both of the love interested endeavored to accommodate her, however romantically and in terms of personally it would have to be Nam Do Sam. He was the one to affirm and endorse her when she found out about her grandmother’s visual impairment, He was there for her after the heartbreak of the confrontation with her mother, He incentivized and reassured her when everybody abandoned and questioned her authority as the CEO due to the equity jetting. However Jipyeong had his chance to apprise Dalmi his feelings however he kept on downplaying and throwing away the opportunities.

I know it’s hard for me growing up that way and how timid I was in terms of getting into relationships. An orphan loses all the time because he is not equipped emotionally or society thinks he doesn’t deserve some happiness. Those who can express themselves like nam do San have that courage because they grew up with supportive families whereas hjp knows he only has himself to rely on, thus the fear. It’s a heartbreaking character.

He didn't KNOW Dal Mi until adulthood since he left for university and even then she was about 13 so a relationship/feelings from him at that time would have been major yikes. Also, he liked Dal Mi before Do San showed up - he laughed along with her in the first episode. He was just reluctant to admit it because no one in his life that he could love has ever stayed - not his parents, not Dal Mi's grandmother, not even a close friend it seems (since he doesn't seem to interact with young guys other than the Samsan Tech boys and goes home to an empty apartment). Admitting his feelings even to himself would open up the potential for heartbreak. He also knew if he admitted his feelings to himself it would have made the situation that much harder - even when he wanted to admit his feelings for her, he chose to be selfless and not tell Dal Mi he likes her because he knew it would hurt her to find out about the lies. The only reason he EVER admits his feelings is because Dal Mi finally found out by herself. If she hadn't Ji Pyeong may well have kept his feelings hidden forever to prevent her heartbreak. Therein lies the difference between Ji Pyeong and Do San - the first wanted to keep the lie going because he wanted Dal Mi to be happy even if she's not with him while the second wanted to keep the lie going because he wants to "win" Dal Mi, even if it's through deception.

This is my first K-drama, so maybe I am looking at it with naive eyes, but I think that Ji Pyeong will end up with Dal Mi. I read so much about second lead syndrome that I thought there was no chance, but story-wise it would make no sense for her to end up with Do San. If we had seen Do San from the beginning, maybe, but since we have focused on Ji Pyeong’s story from episode 1 I think he is end game. All the marketing has featured Suzy and Joo-Hyuk because they are more famous as leading actors. Kim Seon-Ho will clearly be a leading man from now on, but at the beginning of the series he was less famous. All I know is, I will be seriously sad AND mad if Ji-Pyeong doesn’t get true love!

I felt so sad in ep 12, when jp visits dal-mi's grandmother, it was a touching scene! It's sad how everything really turns out so that he really isn't chosen. In each episode the writers praise the feelings between dosan and dalmi leaving the wonderful "good boy" as just a mentor, since he has so much story to tell and it really manages to captivate us even more each chapter. JP really deserves a happy ending and not having your character deconstructed in each scene so the first lead will be the perfect guy!
I know that the plot evolves around the start up metaphora, and how Dosan (start up) evolves to be better than a big company (ji pyeong). But please dont break our hearts in the process 😭. Absolutelly team ji pyeong! 👏💓

I- I really wish even if the writers initially planned dosan to be the end game, they’ll change the plot and make Han Ji Pyeong to be the end game instead. Srsly can’t even watch all that lovey dovey stuff between Dosan and Dalmi now, makes me want to skip those parts to Han Ji Pyeong and I usuallly never skip past scenes. I’m not gonna lie, Dosan’s character now starting to irritate me, I don’t know, I’m just not into super clingy, immature and doesn’t know what’s space is type of guy. Even when his friends were blocking Han Ji pyeong from talking to her, irritated me even more. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this strongly about a character, Kim Seon Ho is really amazing 💕💕
The ratings will take a nose dive if it becomes obvious that Dal-Mi will choose Nam Do San.
Honestly I feel the same way. I usually never skip but I dislike seeing the Dalmi and Dosan scenes, so I skip to see Han Ji Pyeong again. He deserves to be happy

well dal mi doesnt like hjp anymore because when she came to know about truth, she said to do san "tell me hjp is telling lie, tell me you were the one who wrote me letter and were the one I waited for 15 years" so yea she is now attached to Do san more now... ignoring the real one after knowing truth and going more toward fake one lol XD

Okay im going to go deep right now. I feel like this drama is like a lot of korean dramas, that even if the second-lead is a better option or has best chemistry with the lead actress, at the end the most good looking guy will win the girl, no plot twist, no nothing. I know we don't have to generalize, but Korea is a very superficial country (i have studied there for two months and know the basic of their society and culture for anyone who tells me otherwise) and for me its pretty obvious that a good looking lead, is pretty much the reason that he end up with the girl. Now, im not saying that second leads are ugly omg, just that in korean standars usually the lead actor is better looking for them. My point here is, I have a very strong feeling that in Korea most of the girls or anyone watching this drama, will be rooting for the lead and not second-lead, its sucks but sadly in Korea looks matter in a very big scale compared to western countries, so for anyone asking for a plot twist in the drama meaning that the second lead will be the lead at the end, let me spoil it for u, he will not. As i said i do not believe everyone in Korea thinks like this, just the majority.

Even for korean standards Kim Seon Ho aka Ji Pyong is more handsome that the first lead, but isn’t a matter of looks in here but of notoriety. Nam Joo Hyuk is way famous than KSH, but this doesn’t mean this plot story doesn’t make sense. The first lead has all the annoying traits of a second “female” lead. In kdrama world you start the story with the main lead not the second lead. This is all messed up

In which Kdrama logic do they start a story with the back story of the supposed second lead. Like does that make sense, the first few episodes we knew more about hjp and his relationship and value to Dal mi and the grandma than about dosan. Do san was just a stranger until a few episodes ago and without hjp he didn’t even have enough depth to his character to carry the story. I don’t understand the writer’s logic.. it doesn’t make sense to make hjp a second lead after everything.

Ji Pyeong's story is the first thing we know since episode 1. We were attached to his stories,his background growing up without parents, he is so close with grandma and writing the letters to Dal mi. I am so glad that at least at the end he be honest with Dal Mi that he love Dal Mi even he know he will not get her but he is honest with himself. To be honest, the writers did a great job makes us all of us crazy about this second lead in the drama and makes his stories so beautiful yet the most pitiful and lonely person. Ji Pyeong ah, if you really exists is a real life,lets not get more lonelier.
