Thanks for this video out there, especially for the young guns looking to be better equipped. It’s not a bad ruck. I’ve enjoyed my time with it. Spent time under it a good bit this summer and no major complaints. Keep it up, brother. Even us who’ve been around a minute can learn something you. 🤘🏼
Have had both the molle 2 and the 4K, I like the size of the 4K in comparison but not the straps I find that they dig far to much into my neck. I love the new strap however. Wish it would take the molle sustainment pouches.
Same thoughts. I have both issued to me and the main component I need to work digs into my neck too much. Damn shoulder straps. I wish I could remove them and put on the issued molle 2s on
@ I looked at it pretty closely. I didn’t see one. I even tried installing the straps higher with no help. Great ruck ruined by the shoulder straps sadly
Currently have a Tactical Tailor Frame and CSM Gear Ruck Pad set on my 4K. Improved comfort a bit. To keep it Jumpable though I’d say find a Molle 2 frame or use a good condition ALICE one.
"jumpable" and "not jumpable" is entirely at the mercy of whoever last checked your shit There is no official list. It's however that E7 felt like being that day.
with mine, i ran webbing thought the airborne strap channels top and bottom. So now i can secure stuff to the top and bottom like the sleeping pad and tent. also i put in a foam block in the airborne rigging pouch to give a floor to the pack. Also of note the Sustainment pouches are just a little to big to be fully molle'ed in. the bottom strap away from the frame will not be able to be done. But you can tie it off to the pack webbing. my only other complain is the bottom zipper to the main compartment. the way its setup makes in hard to get into the pack.
The new is the old... just an updated ALICE, which I used my modified ALICE I got in 1990 all through GWOT until retired in 2010 and as a contractor in Afghanistan and Africa, even to this day.
im going to be getting a crossfire lid and Jacquard Multicam webbing, ill be taking it to a seamstress to remove the small middle pouches and adding and replacing webbing, all with a private purchased ruck of course
for replacement straps and pads, platatac or down east innovations, dei makes the frames for the army and usmc, they also make there own pad sets and rucks, the molle 4k was made in house by the army and nearly all input was ignored, its made by propper for the army and the designer hasn't been in since m81 was standard, they took a Alice, and made the pouches smaller, added zippers and made strapes that dig into your shoulders, the 8smc still has a better ruck and they've had it since 2011 they didn't innovate for fuck all, making batter pouch placement like bergans or making more sustainment like the filbe or crossfire rucks
This version is absolutely awful solely because of the shoulder straps and how they sit on your shoulders. If somehow they could fix that this ruck would be excellent in regard to being a standard issue ruck.
Awesome, was waiting for the vids to be back up. Y’all put out some great stuff.
Thanks 👍
I’ve put the USMC sustainment pouches where you have the canteen pouches and it provides a lot more storage.
@@kylegwilliam1 savotta 12lt pouches work amazingly

Appreciate you brother. Glad we could help out. It’s all about knowledge transfer and sharing best tips and tricks
thank you for solid overview! yeah those molle canteen pouches have been my go to GP pouch.
How much does the MOLLE 4K ruck weigh?
Weight: 9.5 lbs.
It is kind of funny that the US seems to have gone full circle and simple made a Green Tick for the 21st century.

oh, and the middle pouch has a area inside of it ment for your etool
That tomahawk fits behind those small pouches they’re open in the back of the pouch not sown in so you can secure it better brother 💪🏻
Flipping the belt is mostly for short kings

Not even an updated ALICE. They took all the worst parts of the ALICE and the MOLLE large and combined them.
