The woman singing is Lindy Fay Hella. She is the 2nd vocalist in the band. Thanks for the shout out. Glad you enjoyed it 💪

His instrument is called a Tagelharpa and it's a Nordic instrument from the viking age. I'ts named after the Word Tagel which means Horse hair from which the strings are made.

I believe the song is about how alluring a raven (especially a white raven) can be and his song is to ask for guidance. In the manner of "Lend me a feather," "teach me your song," and "granting sight." I think Lindy Fay is the raven that represents the items given and the white raven watches from above. My vague interpretation of it.... animals always represented something bigger in Pagan and Norse mythology.

Thank you so much for your insight! That’s great and interesting to know about the meaning behind the song, even if it’s your interpretation of it 😁

@@WilsonChang To expand a little, albino animals are often seen as psychopomp creatures, spirit guides that wander between worlds. Ravens are of course connected to death, magic, insight and consciousness, as two of Odins followers are the ravens named Thought and Memory. My interpretation of the song is that is a summoning of a white raven as a familiar/guide to magical/spiritual insight.

In norse mythology raven are seen as bearers of wisdom and such and the white raven in particular is the original raven. As far as I understand it racens turned black after touching humans somehow

People have already answered the questions about the second singer and the instruments, so I'll get the Raven thing, cus, you know. In Norse mythology, all Ravens were once white, but turned black when they flew through the minds of men. White ravens are an omen of prophecy, clarity, hope, and positive change. The song is in my view a song about a man chasing a white raven so he can ask it to guide him, a white raven would make a powerful spirit guide! (specifically, what is called a Fylgja, guardian spirit). Also Einar Selvik's nickname was White Raven before this song. Also also, a biology lesson. White ravens aren't albino, rather ravens sometimes are born with white spots. A white raven is just very rare because that white spot covers their entire body, whereas most ravens are either entirely black or have small white spots.

The instrument is called a Tagelharpe an it's essentially a bowed lyre from the Scandinavian countries.

Wardruna is like the best folk band ever. I place them two heads above others cuz they are very authentic. And their music is not even about being a viking, it's about remembering old traditions.

I get goosebumps every time by this song. The instrument Einar plays here are a "Moraharpa" one of the oldest versions of harps in scandinavia. For me Wardruna (Ward-runa) is much like Heilung is a kind of music that speaks to my spirit for lack of better words. Call it magic or such but i think you either feel it or you dont. Some people dont have that connection. I get both focused and relaxed by this kind of music. Folk metal aint heavy metal so its not always an easy step for some people to like both genres. I do however. I often mix Manowar for example with folkmetal on my lists :).
The lyrics of this song is basically about finding and following a spirit animal in this case White raven and sore on the winds.
Its a Sami inspired song. Samis are indigenous people of Scandinavia who existed there before the germanic tribes settled there and became the dominant power. Samis had a shamanistic religion and although its probably not practised as much today they still have it inbedded in their culture. There still exist "wise women" :).

White Ravens do exist and its no form of albinism cause their Eyes are blue, not red :) They are just pretty rare.

Tagelharpe in Norwegian. You're using the Swedish name. Kraviklyre is another Norwegian variation of the instrument: digitaltmuseum.no/021028537083/lyre
