Alright y’all here it is! Everyone is in for a treat! I asked our dear Mr. Dimbleby to post this one today for the rest of his fans. He was unsure if this one was cheerful enough for new years. I told him I would tell y’all why, cheerful or not. I had a preview of this one, usually skylark is, skylark is, skylark but this one it helped our dear Mr. Dimbleby into a jazz masters program, YAY!, and the improv parts ended up squarely down my jazz sweet spot, I loved it, OH MY DAYS, I loved it! Then I thought everyone might like it too. It didn’t make it up in 2020 so what a way to start 2021!
Wow, I saw a several years old video with you and was curious to see if you had uploaded something more recently. What a great development! Congrats to your admission to Trinity! I did 4 years at a Swedish music college (studied classical composition) and used to freelance as a jazz pianist on the side. Now I'm a PhD student in applied maths. So similar to you but the reverse order, haha! Subscribed.
SO freakin amazingly talented! But you know this 😊 (And pretty cute, too, just to throw that in! haha)... So, mister "maths".. when are you going to do a composition based on... oohh... say... the Mandelbrot Set? Infinite swirls of mind blowing scales and changes! You can do it!! 😊 Always awesome hearing you! Keep pumping it out! And a huge congrats!!!
@@RobertDimbleby one can hear how you've studied the tradition widely - the harmonies divided with both hands are awesome and your single-note lines are very challenging stuff - As a pianist I couldn't execute that stuff (my contemporary skills still aren't yet at that level), but it would be nice to see if it's still possible in the future :)
@@RobertDimbleby WOW 😳 I remember you using pianoteq before...what are your thoughts on comparing the korg vs pianoteq...Im pretty sensitive to latency and is giving vst a try :) also how did u record the audio I'm this video? What patch piano are you using for the Korg btw? Thanks ya!
@@RobertDimbleby is on repeat!! and as I keep listening, your touch is truly exquisite and takes us all on a journey...very appreciative of your passion and sharing music with us all.
Yeah I still love pianoteq and I definitely prefer it to the built in sounds on the grandstage. I've mainly just been recording the built in audio out of convenience to be honest! And the very slight latency is definitely a downside to plugins. It's hardly noticeable thought so but to much of an issue!
So beautiful! Im looking into getting a weighted keyboard, do you find 73 keys to suffice for most jazz tunes or do you think it would be wise to go for an 88? Im considering a 73 for the portability.
Thank you! For gigging I definitely prefer 73 keys as it can fit on the back seats of a car. But if it's going to mostly stay at home I would prefer 88 keys. I do miss the extra keys sometimes (especially the very last note here, would have loved to play the bottom Eb!)
happy new year, thanks for your art !! I have to ask 🙏 Is there a way to get the transcription of what you play in this video or the midi file? Thank you very much and congratulations!
Happy new year folks! Much love to you all 😊
Happy new year!! You totally rock, man!
Thanks for you never gave up

This young man plays beautiful. He if he was showcasing the Korg Grandstage, he just sold it. Is that a Roland Juno 106 on top with speakers

Perfection 💎💪 How Much would a transcript cost?
Thanks so much! I don't have a transcription unfortunately, but I'll definitely consider doing one if enough people would be interested!

Tienes una influencia de Bill Evans, e felicito
🥰
Great playing. Do you record directly to the interface or through MIDI?
Lovely and congrats on music journey! Is the piano sound from your grandstage or a plug-in? Thanks!
Thank you! It's a piano on the Korg grandstage, so no plugin used here

Thanks so much David! Really appreciate that 🙂 I'm using the "Italian Piano" with string resonance turned up to 70%, and velocity curve 3

Complimenti! Anch’io suono tanto jazz, non credo di essere al tuo livello però
