Another great video. Hated crossovers in the 90´s, still hate them now. Forces you to buy titles you normaly would not collect just to follow a specific story. I remerber the whole Knightfall-storyline in the 90´s. During this time I collected only Detective comics and Batman and had to buy all other Batman related titles. These days I simply skip crossovers with go through more than 3 different titles.
I hate them now but I liked them as a kid, interestingly. It was fun for me to try to follow the storyline across titles I didn't regularly read. But that was such a different time and they've certainly become much too much since then.
Got most of these as i was switching to american comics at the time. Never got the full annual run on atlantis attacks, so i got a tpb of that story. The story is not so good, but i like the back-up about the Serpent crown, as it was in some marvel two-in-one. The high evelutionary has been a favorite since he and the hulk were in one of my earliest comics. Thanks for this blast from the past.
The crossover annuals were pretty much a miss for me back in the day. God knows I was the intended audience as I bought every single thing Marvel produced, but the large forced crossovers got stale pretty quick. I enjoyed Atlantis Attacks and the Evolutionary War but everything past those two wasn't very good to me. The mutant/X-men based ones were the worst, particularly as they moved into the 90's. My biggest problem with them was that I LOVED Marvel's annuals and I considered them a real treat and something to be savored once summer rolled around. For a number of years, that was highjacked by the new tradition of crossovers that, as a more mature reader, I could notice were being forced on the creators. Maybe I should revisit some of them with a fresh perspective as I haven't touched any since they were new.
Had to watch thanks to that amazing intro. 😁Love those vintage comic covers. Thanks for sharing. Have a Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you as well, buddy!
Totally agree. These are easy on the budget and fun to hunt for and piece together.
Don't agree with me! That is a bad pattern to get yourself into!
1000 almost there bro cool comic book haul
Ha! I just noticed it was so close!

I’m really stoked to see the take on High Evolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
forgot about daredevil annuals being in Atlantis attacks need to get one sometime soon
And the DD tie-in to the overall story is kinda…sorta…pretty good!
Watch out that you egt the correct annual, as the number was misprinted.

Crossovers hit diminishing returns pretty quickly, didn't they?
