  • Britany's "Story of Resilience" has been produced as part of "Empowering Latinx Youth Through the Lens as Mental Health Advocates." A project of Operation Street Kidz (OSK) in collaboration with the L.A. County Dept. of Mental Health - Latino UsCC.
Britany represents the Southeast region of LA County and is among a group of Youth Mental Health Advocates who are supporting and encouraging other youth through the sharing of their stories. Britany also serves as Youth Coordinator of this group countywide.
Britany Flores is a graduate of Garfield High School, where she also studied film production and photography. During high school, Britany experienced severe anxiety attacks, which impeded her ability to fully function. As a result, she actively sought out resources and was able to obtain effective support, which kept her on track towards pursuing her career goals.
Britany graduated from Cal State University Los Angeles (CSULA) with her Bachelor's degree in psychology (completed in 3 years!) as well as Certification in Child Maltreatment and Family Violence. She will begin graduate school at Pepperdine University this September, with her goal of becoming a clinical psychologist. She currently works at The Child Educational Center- as TA (Teacher Assistant), and also serves on the Advisory Board for Suicide Prevention of the Los Angeles County DMH.
She is dedicated to building a strong youth voice to speak out on mental health issues in Los Angeles County.
Our goal is to expand this network of Youth Mental Health Advocates. Please share your experiences with us - Your voice is important!
