Blixa wasn’t at all a difficult interview partner. Especially not during the 80s. Considering the questions he’s being asked, he is patient, kind, considerate and making an effort to get through the interview.

How would I be able to supply subtitles? I'm a native German speaker and okay enough with English to help out, I think!

I think you can add subtitles through some community tools? Idk. Either way I would appreciate if you would write them in the comments in case it doesn’t work out :)

Blixa wasn't, isn't and will never be an easy interview-partner :D

I am pretty sure there exists a translation of this to English, I'll ask one of my Spanish speaking friends to take a look at it.
disculpe por favor, no habla español...

    Translation from Seele Brennt blog:
Blixa: You are listening to and watching Off Beat, Tele5. My name is Blixa Bargeld.
Int: Blixa, you did this marvellous campaing for us once and we now have a surprise for you. The first time we distributed 1.000 marks and today it’s 25.000 marks. Do you feel like doing it?
Blixa: Yes. 25.000. [Translator: I can’t understand him]
Int: I think so too. [Translator: Something else, I can’t understand it, either.]
    Blixa: [???]
Int: [???] but it’s not much work. We’ll do it soon. Tell me, what image does Einstürzende Neubauten have, do you know?
Blixa: You’re the one who has to tell me that. Not the other way around.
    Int: Do you know?
    Blixa: No.
Int: People say you are totally diabolical, scary, sinister and totally unpredictable. Is this what you wanted?
Blixa: Yes, it’s what we wanted.
Int: You don’t want to explore that?
Blixa: No, but you have to tell me what the effect is. I can’t tell you that.
Int: I thought you could familiarize us with it…
Blixa: Our impact is different according to the regions.
    Int: Is that so?
    Blixa: Yes.
Int: Berlin and Munich, different reactions? Or is it broader than cities?
Blixa: Maybe. It’s hard for me to assess our image.
Int: I watched the Neubauten in Munich and I was very impressed…
    Blixa: Shaken [smiles]
    Int: Shaken to my core
    Blixa: Deeply moved [smiles]
    Int: Very deeply moved…
    Blixa: Good [smiles and smokes]
Int: But you have changed a lot. I want to be very careful with my words, but it sounded almost a bit like pop music.
    Blixa: Maybe something else changed.
    Int: You mean, I changed?
Blixa: No, not you. But maybe the music.
Int: Has something changed, concept wise?
Blixa: No, concept wise, nothing has changed.
    Int: Absolutely nothing?
Blixa: No. Concept wise, nothing has changed.
Int: When you’re on stage, you give the impression that you become someone else, above everything. Is it like an orgasm on stage?
    Blixa: Ummm… [smiles]
    Int: Or something similar?
Blixa: Usually it is good when I lose control.
Int: So, you deliberately lose control?
Blixa: At least, I try to deliberately lose control, yes.
Int: And do you know how it was, afterwards?
Blixa: No, I don’t know. I mean, it’s good that I don’t know how it was.
    Int: You can’t remember anymore?
Blixa: No, it has nothing to do with being able to remember it. It’s just something that happens in a different space.
Int: And how do you come back from this different space?
    Blixa: On my own volition.
    Int: Completely?
    Blixa: Yes.
Int: I heard an interview where you talked about the origin of your texts: you said you just started to sing and to formulate something and that more or less developed into words. Has that principle changed?
Blixa: The principle has changed. Because… I have this ability, to just improvise and sing. And that changed, because I now actually write stuff down. And then I improvise as well [laughs]
Int: You have a book coming out.
Blixa: Yes, a book is coming out.
Int: When did you prepare it? When is it coming out? What’s it about?
Blixa: I prepared it within the past year.
Int: When will it be out?
Blixa: I hope it comes out still this year. It’s ready to be printed and they said it should be ready in 14 days. And then we’re ready to publish.
Int: I can’t imagine that you really sat down and wrote a book!
Blixa: That was not the case. We just gathered some of my texts.
Int: You have a collection and searched for some texts…
Blixa: My collection is unreadable, but they actually managed to read through and put it as texts. And now I have to look at that and choose what I think should be left over and what not. I started with that. But it was not enough, I had to find more.
Int: You have a lot of success in Japan. Not only there, but also. Do you think that has something to do with mentality? That the Japanese understand you better?
Blixa: I have no idea. I’ve already thought about that, but… It’s still not clear to me why we have so much success there.
Int: Is this love mutual? Do you like it there?
    Blixa: Yes, it’s mutual.
