Thank you for the feedback - so glad you found this helpful. As long as your pixel/dataset events are all for the same business - they YES use the same pixel for everything. If it was a completely different business/audience/website then I'd suggest you make a completely different pixel and also a different ad account so you can separate your tracking for activity of your website etc. But if it's all for you Photography business - YES use the same code on all the different landing pages.
Awesome instructions, thank you! I have a same situation as others from the comments, which is not to be able to track a specific URL on Thank you page. It keeps giving me an error message... Are we supposed to set up the same pixel code in the thank you page as in a main webpage?
Yes. you only use one pixel - for all sites/pages. as long as you have that pixel installed properly and you may have to "authorize" the site url to ensure you allow Facebook to collect data from traffic to that site.
No You don't need to delete anything. just create the pixel, install it on your website, and make sure to link your pixel to your ads account (so the ads account has access to the pixel) then the next time you create an ad campaign you will be able to select the pixel to use with your new ads. Unfortunately you can't lever old add or website traffic data until the pixel is install.
So i have just setup my first conversion api through stape and there is 2 options stating meta suggested, one is automatically turned on, but the other is not. From what i read its wise to turn on for better tracking but would like to hear your point of view for this setting.@@goingsocial
Hi, I think it's best to turn on whatever options they have available. From what I have seen - this gives them more ability to track - and I dont' think it hurts to turn on.

I've gotten to the final stages in publishing an ad set and I keep getting the error that my "Meta Pixel is not active", but when I open events manager, the pixel is successfully pinging activity/clicks from my website. Hmmm. Not sure. One thing it could be is that you may not have the correct pixel/dataset "authorized" for access in your ads account? You have to do that in business suite. I'd double check that it's showing your pixel (look at the pixel ID) and make sure there are no error notifications anywhere in the main dataset section. hope this helps.
Oddly enough it would appear to me to be more complicated using a plugin dedicated to facebook datasets than manual code insertion via WPcode. Thank you vir this useful information

Hi, If you want to drive ppl to a website - choose "traffic" ad. You can either create a single image, video or carousel style ad. With a carousel ad you can include both images and videos in one ad. So if you want to show how the ad works in a video that's a great option.
I must say, you have the BEST video on UA-cam!! GREAT tutorial. I have a 2 Part question: 1. Video (20:36 - 22:08.) When I go to Track a URL, I choose Complete Registration. The landing page URL area is greyed. I then copy my Thank You page, go back to Track a Url and it's still greyed with the landing page URL. So I'm unable to paste my Thank You page URL. The tracker doesn't show up on the Thank you page. I'm in Chrome, cleared cache and restarted. Can you explain what I'm doing wrong? 2. I have a funnel which has several pages? Hi, Hope this helps. For #1 - Do you have "" with your domain URL - Make sure it's https (the s shows a secure page). Facebook may be picky about this. #2 - Yes, you can track an amount of pages (and you should) and different buttons. Depending on what you want to track and how you can either use the same conversion type to track, or if you need to be specific you may have to build custom conversions. but you can track any number you need.

Do I need to put the FB pixel in every single page page or is there a way to put it in just 1 section of the website to track all activities and just configure events to track specific activities on those pages?
Hi, With a WordPress site, yes, you should be able to add the pixel to your site header. As long as the header loads for all pages - then the pixel should be on all pages. You can install the chrome pixel helper extension on the chrome browser, then browse to your pages to confirm if you pixel is firing on each page.
This depends on what you mean. If you are testing to see if the pixel/data set is installed you must use the full URL of ANY webpage you intend to test or the specific page it's installed for. I'd recommend you install the pixel on ALL pages of your website, that way you can track and collect data from anyone visiting any page of your site. I hope this helps.

im having an issue, now that my pixel is a dataset, when i go to create an ad, it says add a pixel to track conversions, but the dataset does not come up as an option. And its telling me to create a new pixel and replace my dataset with the new pixel, in order to track conversions on the ad. Please help
Hi, That's a bit strange. It's possible that you missed the step where you have to go back into Business Manager And link your new pixel/dataset to your facebook ads account. There has to be a link there. Once you have that setup, when creating an ad you should be able to select it as it's now linked properly to that ad account. Hope this helps.
If you’re using FB advertising for different purposes such as 1) drive to website to get subscribers to blog and 2) gain IG followers would you then create two separate datasets? Even though they are for the same brand?
You may want to , but don’t have to, create different conversion tracking metrics so you can have some data about your efforts to market each of those initiatives. But one dataset is all that’s needed.
You don't "extract" data. What you can do is use the data collected and apply that to audiences you create. Those audiences are built around actions tracked using your pixel. please help! ive created a data set and linked it to my website everything is complete and i can see real time events being tracked on my store. but for some reason when im creating an ad, in the far bottom section where i wanna enable my meta pixel its saying my pixel isnt active. what do they mean not active? how do i fix this asap???
Okay. Likely there is one step you missed. In Facebook Business Manager (business suite) you have to link your data set - to your ads account. You have to allow your pixel/dataset to be seen and used by that specific ads account. Let me know if this helps.
Have you added permission for your dataset to link to your ads account? You have to give the dataset permisison to be used with your ad account - seems silly , I know, but that's how it's done. This is controlled within Business Suite.
The video was helpful but i was unable to create pixel because the business settings that i clicked is telling me to log in with Facebook to use meta business tool Pls do i need to have a running ad before i create the pixel?
No. But you do need to have a business account, have your facebook page linked to your business account. Doing any of this will require you to login to Facebook. This is to ensure you have proper access to the page/ad account/business account etc. - you must have a personal profile on facebook so they can verify who you are. Hope this helps.
I have a Wix website, it seems like I set and linked it up correctly. It shows as active and gives a page view history. When I get to events set up tool and enter the website, the tool doesnt pop up in the header to click on the buttons/sites to track.
I'm attempting to set up a dataset from the Events Manager Overview page, but when I type in the name of my new dataset and click the blue Create button, it keeps spinning forever but never moves on to create it. (I've tried clearing the cache, logging in/out, using different browsers, and even using the app.) Any tips?
Sorry. Don't know what to tell you. Sometimes Facebook is buggy. I'd wait and try again. Sometimes Chrome gets better results for facebook but as you said you have tried things. You can try a different computer?
Unfortunately I don't use shopify so I don't have an accoun to test this with but there is a section that I showed in the video where they do make it pretty easy to walk you through the steps of adding it with some third party platforms and I know that shopify is one.
When entering info for tracking a specific URL it won't let me use a specific part of the page (thank you page). It only allows URL for my main page, or it won't let me add buttons to other pages on my website. Any insight?
what do you mean by "it won't let me use a specific part of the page)? There may be issues with how the site is coded and how the tool is able to pick up those elements. There are ways you can manually add code to track specific conversions for button clicks etc. But if you just want to track someone getting to the thank you page, you should just be able to enter the entire URL - as I have in this video.
I tried entering my URL but the URL is greyed out so it won't let me input anything. They pop up to add buttons/URL disappears as soon as I click on one of my website pages (ex: contact page). Hi, I have a problem with the pixel, when I use my browser it is working but if I use another browser or phone, it is not sending data. Does anyone know how to fix it ? And Also my dataset and pixel ID is not matching. Should be they same ?
Your dataset is the same as your pixel ID. You can try to do a hard refresh on your browser or clear your browser cache to make sure you are reloading. Or double check you have correctly installed the pixel.
I'm a little lost, I don't have any data sources & it has me connect it via the app; then gives me this: Before you set up app events, these steps need to be completed: Create an app ID using your developer account. Install the latest version of the Facebook app SDK on your app. Assign an ad account to the app in Business Settings. ; then I click get started. then gives me 3 options: use the codeless event tool, install the app manually, connect a partner, or build your own event... then I chose the codeless event tool, then it says htis: Connect your app with your computer to set up events directly on your desktop screen & tells me to get started; then it gives me this, where I'm stuck: Install the Facebook SDK and a long list of something to do...can we book a call to help? Hi, you may have missed a step and that's why you are seeing so many options. I'd recommend watching the vid again from the beginning to double check if you clicked on the wrong section. Yes, I do also setup consult calls with clients - so if that's something you want to do, we can arrange it. Just reach out to me again if you want to do that.
Are you asking how to "delete" a dataset? I'm not sure this can be done. You may just have to ignore it - maybe even label it something like "do no use" to ensure you don't use it. ...but I don't think its easy to actually delete a data set once it's been created.

I launched my first campaign im doing free for experience 1 campaign 2 adsets 1 ad in each $10 a day per ad conversion leads manual setup ad1 is doing pretty good? click through rate 3.68% link clicks 15, freq 1.11, CTR(all) 7.35%, CPC$0.76 but a high cpm $56.18 ad2 click through rate 2.28% link clicks 11, freq1.14, CTR(all)5.80%, CPC(all)$0.82 CPM:$47.37 ad 1 seems to be doing better but has a higher CPM could this be from specific targeting as ad is just broad no interest? not sure what to turn of what to scale. running 3 days Next Question? I implemented dataset. Testing through events manager i get events but running ads nothing. Not even page views or leads in metrics and i checked my google sheet i had 2 leads. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Brilliant - very clear. I had got into a bit of a pickle trying to get code onto site - maybe I had done it more than once??? This made it easy peasy.... but its still not working ... I got an error code /warning triangle (an alt attribute must be present on elements) in the code snippet to paste into wpcodelite... on the line that says
Not sure about this. Never run into a problem like that. Maybe there is something in your website settings that is requiring any image include an alt tag. I'd recommend asking your website developer to help with this.
I have the same problem. I have done everything correctly but when I paste the code in my webpage header, it's giving an error and it doesn't let me to complete the setup in facebook. It's saying...."An alt attribute must be present on img elements" on this part of the code copied from facebook
That's a bit odd. I'd try 2 things. 1) Try using the Chrome browser. Sometimes I have a buggy experience with Safari even though that's my main browser of choice. Another thing you can do is to just restart the testing process or reload the page. Hope that helps.
Typically you can access it via your hosting backend (or ask your hosting company for a specific URL) however it might be www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin "wp-admin" is the common extension. You will of course need to know your admin username and password specifically for wordpress.

Damn bro, I'm super depressed because of my Facebook ads sudden and CRAZY decrease in performance. Lately, every campaign only "performs" the first few hours (and by that I mean they only get a few link clicks, sadly not even likes or post saves) and that's it, then, only the "amount spent" go up! Plus, I get a TON of messages from phishers pretending to be Meta and threaten to close my page. It's like my ads aren't shown to real people. What's your advice please? 🙏 please help your depressed boy 😭 (btw my ads used to generate results, I'm not terrible at making ads).
That's really hard to diagnose what's going on without seeing your ads and account setup. Sorry I don't think I can help more. I'd suspect you are either allowing the wrong ad placements or have adjustments you need to make to your audience targeting. Hope this helps.

I haven't seen that issue before but, yes, if you have limited access to assets and/or are not a full admin - you may not have access.

Are you sure you have installed the tracking code on EVERY PAGE of your site? It needs to be on every page - including your thank you page.

im having an issue, now that my pixel is a dataset, when i go to create an ad, it says add a pixel to track conversions, but the dataset does not come up as an option.
And its telling me to create a new pixel and replace my dataset with the new pixel, in order to track conversions on the ad.

Hi, That's a bit strange. It's possible that you missed the step where you have to go back into Business Manager And link your new pixel/dataset to your facebook ads account. There has to be a link there. Once you have that setup, when creating an ad you should be able to select it as it's now linked properly to that ad account. Hope this helps.
If you’re using FB advertising for different purposes such as 1) drive to website to get subscribers to blog and 2) gain IG followers would you then create two separate datasets? Even though they are for the same brand?
Nope. You just need one.
You may want to , but don’t have to, create different conversion tracking metrics so you can have some data about your efforts to market each of those initiatives. But one dataset is all that’s needed.

You don't "extract" data. What you can do is use the data collected and apply that to audiences you create. Those audiences are built around actions tracked using your pixel. Okay. Likely there is one step you missed. In Facebook Business Manager (business suite) you have to link your data set - to your ads account. You have to allow your pixel/dataset to be seen and used by that specific ads account. Let me know if this helps.

Have you added permission for your dataset to link to your ads account? You have to give the dataset permisison to be used with your ad account - seems silly , I know, but that's how it's done. This is controlled within Business Suite.

No. But you do need to have a business account, have your facebook page linked to your business account. Doing any of this will require you to login to Facebook. This is to ensure you have proper access to the page/ad account/business account etc. - you must have a personal profile on facebook so they can verify who you are. Hope this helps.
I have a Wix website, it seems like I set and linked it up correctly. It shows as active and gives a page view history. When I get to events set up tool and enter the website, the tool doesnt pop up in the header to click on the buttons/sites to track.
Try refreshing, or try again. Make sure you aren't blocking popups.

I'm attempting to set up a dataset from the Events Manager Overview page, but when I type in the name of my new dataset and click the blue Create button, it keeps spinning forever but never moves on to create it. (I've tried clearing the cache, logging in/out, using different browsers, and even using the app.) Any tips?
Sorry. Don't know what to tell you. Sometimes Facebook is buggy. I'd wait and try again. Sometimes Chrome gets better results for facebook but as you said you have tried things. You can try a different computer?

Unfortunately I don't use shopify so I don't have an accoun to test this with but there is a section that I showed in the video where they do make it pretty easy to walk you through the steps of adding it with some third party platforms and I know that shopify is one.
When entering info for tracking a specific URL it won't let me use a specific part of the page (thank you page). It only allows URL for my main page, or it won't let me add buttons to other pages on my website. Any insight?
what do you mean by "it won't let me use a specific part of the page)? There may be issues with how the site is coded and how the tool is able to pick up those elements. There are ways you can manually add code to track specific conversions for button clicks etc. But if you just want to track someone getting to the thank you page, you should just be able to enter the entire URL - as I have in this video.
I tried entering my URL but the URL is greyed out so it won't let me input anything. They pop up to add buttons/URL disappears as soon as I click on one of my website pages (ex: contact page). Hi, I have a problem with the pixel, when I use my browser it is working but if I use another browser or phone, it is not sending data. Does anyone know how to fix it ? And Also my dataset and pixel ID is not matching. Should be they same ?
Your dataset is the same as your pixel ID. You can try to do a hard refresh on your browser or clear your browser cache to make sure you are reloading. Or double check you have correctly installed the pixel.
I'm a little lost, I don't have any data sources & it has me connect it via the app; then gives me this: Before you set up app events, these steps need to be completed:
Create an app ID using your developer account.
Install the latest version of the Facebook app SDK on your app.
Assign an ad account to the app in Business Settings. ; then I click get started. then gives me 3 options: use the codeless event tool, install the app manually, connect a partner, or build your own event... then I chose the codeless event tool, then it says htis: Connect your app with your computer to set up events directly on your desktop screen & tells me to get started; then it gives me this, where I'm stuck: Install the Facebook SDK and a long list of something to do...can we book a call to help? Hi, you may have missed a step and that's why you are seeing so many options. I'd recommend watching the vid again from the beginning to double check if you clicked on the wrong section. Are you asking how to "delete" a dataset? I'm not sure this can be done. You may just have to ignore it - maybe even label it something like "do no use" to ensure you don't use it. ...but I don't think its easy to actually delete a data set once it's been created.

1 campaign 2 adsets 1 ad in each $10 a day per ad conversion leads manual setup
ad1 is doing pretty good? click through rate 3.68% link clicks 15, freq 1.11, CTR(all) 7.35%, CPC$0.76 but a high cpm $56.18
ad2 click through rate 2.28% link clicks 11, freq1.14, CTR(all)5.80%, CPC(all)$0.82 CPM:$47.37
ad 1 seems to be doing better but has a higher CPM could this be from specific targeting as ad is just broad no interest? not sure what to turn of what to scale. running 3 days

Brilliant - very clear. I had got into a bit of a pickle trying to get code onto site - maybe I had done it more than once??? This made it easy peasy.... but its still not working ... I got an error code /warning triangle (an alt attribute must be present on elements) in the code snippet to paste into wpcodelite... on the line that says
Not sure about this. Never run into a problem like that. Maybe there is something in your website settings that is requiring any image include an alt tag. I'd recommend asking your website developer to help with this.
I have the same problem. I have done everything correctly but when I paste the code in my webpage header, it's giving an error and it doesn't let me to complete the setup in facebook. It's saying...."An alt attribute must be present on img elements" on this part of the code copied from facebook

That's a bit odd. I'd try 2 things. 1) Try using the Chrome browser. Sometimes I have a buggy experience with Safari even though that's my main browser of choice. Another thing you can do is to just restart the testing process or reload the page. Hope that helps.

Typically you can access it via your hosting backend (or ask your hosting company for a specific URL) however it might be www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin "wp-admin" is the common extension. You will of course need to know your admin username and password specifically for wordpress.

Damn bro, I'm super depressed because of my Facebook ads sudden and CRAZY decrease in performance. Lately, every campaign only "performs" the first few hours (and by that I mean they only get a few link clicks, sadly not even likes or post saves) and that's it, then, only the "amount spent" go up! Plus, I get a TON of messages from phishers pretending to be Meta and threaten to close my page. It's like my ads aren't shown to real people. What's your advice please? 🙏 please help your depressed boy 😭 (btw my ads used to generate results, I'm not terrible at making ads).
That's really hard to diagnose what's going on without seeing your ads and account setup. Sorry I don't think I can help more. I'd suspect you are either allowing the wrong ad placements or have adjustments you need to make to your audience targeting. Hope this helps.
