    Ah, that Sim City 4 music at the beginning. I always find music from that when I least expect it on YT. Great video as usual!

    The only word that springs to mind is WOW!
    That is quite extraodinary and a tribute to all the hard work you have put into it.
    Very, very, very well done.

    It's nice to see you have the PECO diesel depot. The one on my layout is painted green. That's clever using helixes to make the railway longer in a smaller space

    @Willowholmejunction From one helix to the other I think theres about 25 feet of running space on the top boards. Another 25 feet underneath and each helix is a 4ft square, the boards are 2ft wide i think

    13:47 looks like one of the driver some how managed to take his loco home, but unfortunately by driving it it was a little too heavy with its bare metal wheels so it cracked the road.

  • @EverardJunction
    @EverardJunction  13 років тому

    @2009Buzza Thanks, the roads and concrete are made using polyfilla.

  • @EverardJunction
    @EverardJunction  13 років тому

    @ididi9 That could work, the problem is that doing any work work in the small space under the board is very difficult and time consuming.

  • @Whizzer1
    @Whizzer1 13 років тому

    @Whizzer1 a good thing you should use as tunnle portals are the hornby skaledale brick or stone portals single or double which are awesome and look very good on model railways as they have a grey stain which looks like steam engines have passed through.

    11:57 that process is called cut and cover used i the early days of the tube now its just deep level or overground

  • @EverardJunction
    @EverardJunction  12 років тому

    @jasonandjoesrailway That shoud be fine, but as it is chipboard I would be careful about how wet you get the wood when doing ballasting. Shouldn't be an issue though, plenty of people have used chipboard before.

  • @FiveElms
    @FiveElms 12 років тому

    @EverardJunction Oh yeh i agree, but i thought i was coping out and taking the easy option by having all my track on the baseboard, whenever you go to shows they have tracks at all sorts of different levels.

    @bloodmarine77 I had the same problem with finding a UK supplier of long static grass. I've bought it from an American site called scenic express. I've not bought from them before but people have given them great reviews and there are hundreds of things to choose from.

  • @EverardJunction

    @Hartsock91 It stands for train or traction maintenance depot.

  • @EverardJunction
    @EverardJunction  13 років тому

    @gtacrusher123 In real life some TMDs don't have concrete in the middle, I also didn't want to cause any running issues with trains in the TMD.

  • @EverardJunction
    @EverardJunction  12 років тому

    @jasonandjoesrailway It's much easier to keep the track at the same level in terms of wiring and point motors. With different levels the boards need to have a lot of extra work done to keep everything strong. If I had used multi levels then trains running under the layout would not fit.

    Hi, I found your track cleaning artical interesting, as l'm building a BR/NSE 3rd rail layout l use a Bachmann MLV propelling a Dapol track cleaner in fluid mode and have found that this method also keeps the MLV wheels clean and as l use Kadee couplings on all EMU stock l consist at least 4 EMU's on the rear and this cleans their wheels at the same time try it

    Looking great. You have probably been asked before but what is the overall size of the layout (footprint) as I am about to start mine in a 10 x 10ft room and was trying to work out how much I could get in. I also like the idea of running three lines.

    Wow! Your layout is amazing! I'm really inpressed and totally wish I had the time, money and space to make a layout as well develped as yours! Just a suggestion - why not install some LED strips under the layout so yo can see the trains when they are on the hidden part of the track? It's fairly cheap and ould run off a12V DC transformer...

    @EverardJunction Also, sorry to bother you again, when i built the main portion of base board in my loft i did it using the large planks of loft board that slot together, they are all batoned underneath and are lovely and strong. Do you think i did the right thing using this wood? Am i going to have problems in the future?

  • @EverardJunction
    @EverardJunction  12 років тому

    Bachmann are quite good, I've had no issues with their stuff. Bachmann america are more budget focused and are not as good as the UK stuff they do. The British stuff they make for N gauge is marketed under the Graham Farish brand.
    I get most of my stuff from a shop called hattons.

  • @FiveElms

    Hi mate, ive messaged you a few time and love your vids. Can i just ask, i see most of your track work is all at the same level, i.e flat on the board with the scenery based around it. Was this a concous decision, i was thinkin to get a layout look proffesional i would need track at all different levels, but yours looks good.
