this has gotta be the only channel that details the 3D modelling aspect of toy companies and design and there needs to be way more of it. i could watch entire videos about it.
Crazy how it’s still available there, maybe they got too much stock? In Australia, where I live, the Dominion human dinosaur two pack sold like hotcakes, I didn’t get my hands on them.
It’s really positive that Mattel are seemingly listening to fans and making changes, I hope that they go back and redo previous figures, and also focus on getting worldwide distribution, because living in the UK is such a lottery with HC
I got this figure for Christmas. It's the best Hammond Collection figure I have, which isn't saying much since I only have 2 including the Carnotaurus, but the Carnotaurus is still a really good HC figure to me. I love how Mattel proportioned the Carnotaurus, I'm so tired of dino figures with Sideshow Bob feet. The one complaint I have is the arms being so big and well developed. Would've been better if they kept the arms like how they were on their mainline Carnotaurus figures.
Great review as ever, and a superb figure sculpt (apart from the arms of course). Not sure if I'm just not trying hard enough but to my knowledge we can't get this HC figure in the UK. Happy to be corrected if people can point me in the direction of UK retailers.
@clivejones7921 I'm in the UK and I get my Hammond Collection figures from Props and Replicas and the Carnotaurus is available for Pre-order on there at the moment
Hi @@clivejones7921, it's been a while since I told you where you could get it and I was wondering if you've gotten the Hammond Collection Carnotaurus yet?
Hi@@rhino932toon. Yes thanks. I got one from Props & Replicas back in April. It''s a great figure and makes all other previous Mattel JW Carnotaurus versions pretty obsolete. However, I do totally agree with all Marco's observations about things that are odd and slightly disappointing about the figure. But the pros far outweigh the minor niggles.
If the joint is just loose, remove it and apply some superglue on the joint . Then pop it back in. Then, every minute ot so, move the joint around so it doesn’t actually stick. After a while it’ll just add an extra layer on the joint, making it tighter
Excellent video! Thank you! Yeah, apart from the arms, I'd say this is the best attempt at a Carnotaurus yet. Having said that, if Mattel wanted to make '94 Classic Collection Series 2 "Demon" repaint of this, I'd buy the HECK out of that. (HINT, HINT, Mattel . . . .)
I had to get two of these. They look amazing together posed, and I feel since playing JWE2, they like to be in pairs so this way they won’t be lonely 😂
The carnotaurus' neck can actually twist, you just need to break the plastic to achieve it. I personally widened the base of the neck for this but not the base of the head. I currently cannot figure out how to bring that range of motion without just splitting the plastic
Mattel did the toyline for Disney’s Dinosaur back when that movie came out so it wouldn’t surprise me if Mattel had at least a little bit of a bias towards Carnotaurus.
on February i went to the USA and this carno was on the "must" part of the shopping list hahah i would love a headsculp with lips for this carno, something like the prehistoric planet one I want to ask you a favor, could you write the name of the person that was making the replacement arms please?, English is not my native language and I'm having a hard time trying to figure it out
the reason why people want a replacement head for the baryonyx is mostly becuse it has alot of qc issues fx i bought 3 of the hammond collection baryonyxes so i could paint 2 of them into grim and limbo from camp creataceus both grim and limbo had theyer jaws lossen over time so i had to put some glue in to make it more tight but that ended up with grimes jaw not abel to close anymore and limbos oper jaw joint broke of the head on the left side. and thats just my issues @spinodude s baryonyx had half of the throwt not painted and the seamline spliting on the head. so yea we mostly want a baryonyx replacement head becuse no matter what it will be better both in sculpt and qc. and when the guy who is makeing them actually cares about the product not sucking just makes alot better. note that you dont have to make a replacement head it would just be nice if you did. ps sorry if i spelled anyting wrong
I get it might be probably be trouble trying to do on the baby t rex and it's not easy to do that to baby t rex I do understand why people say that about proportions I was never bothered about the they way hammond collection figures looked but it shows that collectors want more the only thing I will agree with for a collectors line is more paint they really shouldn't be cutting cost on the paint it needs paint all the way to tail and under tail but I like the Baby Tyrannosaurus rex the hips look a little wide I mean it probably be a problem making a very small figure its scale its like the scale with the hammond collection Velociraptors but I'm happy to see more better stuff added to it
As a paleontologist you would think they could read the paper that show all the details of the skin take the spikes off of it and make it have lips because they did have them I wish they could ask paleontologist how to make it look real for people because they sell to a lot of people and they confuse kids and make them learn the wrong thing and if they get older and like dinosaurs they have to relearn everything
We don’t have to “re learn” everything. We can easily understand dinosaurs and animals if they “change”. Realising that raptors have feathers aren’t that big of a deal to make such a serious fuss about. It’s js gaining knowledge that can be easily learned in seconds

Im glad we're getting the spino later than at the start of HC
looks like they're evolving in terms of sculpting and proportions
I’d love a replacement head for the baryonix in the US it is still available on Amazon and on Mattel Creations
Crazy how it’s still available there, maybe they got too much stock? In Australia, where I live, the Dominion human dinosaur two pack sold like hotcakes, I didn’t get my hands on them.

One of those fixes being making those clown feet smaller.
@@Trollboi_farded69420 Oh man! Those feet hurt the figure so much
The feet on the rex made it look deformed.
Should've just added a stand.
Got one not too long ago and I agree, its the best one from the HC line so far. Keep it up. 👍

True. I said generally. There's always exceptions

When will it be released in the UK?
Can you make a short of when the replacement arms for the carnotaurus are going to be released once you get informed pls?
My friends told me that it actually twist its head and neck. But it was so hard and stiff that it was difficult to twist it.
Seems like there might be some variants. Mine just does not, in any way I try.
The carnotaurus' neck can actually twist, you just need to break the plastic to achieve it. I personally widened the base of the neck for this but not the base of the head. I currently cannot figure out how to bring that range of motion without just splitting the plastic
It must be a variant or something because mine just does not want to. It's impossible unless I break the articulation.
@@MarcoMakesOfficial perhaps. I did it on two of them.
You should customize the arms of the carnotaurus

Hola
Hola 👋
Hi😊
Hello! :)
The carnotaurus had a characteristically flexible jaw, not unlike a snake's, the double hinge isnt far from accurate for this specific figure
Its from a movie about cloning dinosaurs, it doesn't have to be realistic
We don’t have to “re learn” everything. We can easily understand dinosaurs and animals if they “change”. Realising that raptors have feathers aren’t that big of a deal to make such a serious fuss about. It’s js gaining knowledge that can be easily learned in seconds
This is not ment to be realistic D U D E
...You do realize this figure is based on the Jurassic world design, not the actual animal...right? Creative beasts is releasing a carno for that.
