I am so glad Mattel is finally improving and listening to the community. The problem is how far the sculptors will go into looking at the reference material but I hope Mattel will continue to put the efforts they put into Theri, Giga and Carno to other figures in the future outside the Hammond Collection.

This figure would make a great base for a custom carcharodontosaurus
Hammond collection should start reworking some of the older figures sculpt and proportions like the Tyrannosaurus rex, triceratops, parasaurolophus, velociraptor and etc
Something that I recently noticed while I was looking the JW Dino Style Guide and some Giga footage from Dominion, is that the feets are actually different compared to what we got in the figure. The feets on the Giga are more similar to the Indominus Rex feets while the figure feets are more kinda like the T-Rex one.
So if anyone is picky about that detail, I guess a future HC replacement feets would be valid.
I’m not complaining about this Giganotosaurus figure at all, he’s looking great for me plus I love the tail articulations and small feet.

4:59 I completely agree with your words. I saw this many times. Since the days when Hasbro had the JW license And now this is happening with Lego.
They mostly reused old parts from other dinosaurs and created just one or two new parts for one species of dinosaur.
For example, Giga. They reused the head of Indominus Rex (I don't mind that too much, it looks fine and looks just like how the thing looks like in the movie but not exactly perfect, it was disappointing tho.) And reused t rex arms which has 2 finger.
Baryonyx and Therizino reused indoraptor body with only a new head (new arms for the Theri tho) and the result of their reuse of the Indoraptor's body was that they has a sickle claws (so bruh)
And Carno and Allo reused Indominus Rex Body which has the same size as t rex.
Clearly, Lego cares more about money and profits than listening to fans or making products that consumers want. And luckily nowaday Mattel doesn't do that much.
They may have some cost-saving strategies. But nowdays, we see that Mattel is trying to listen to fans and make their figures better and better. Although it is still not complete ly perfect. But at least they proved to us that they were trying to. And they can definitely keep doing better.

Did you order yours off mattel creations? I did, and it took longer than expected to arrive. Luckily, mine didn't have any defects. Hope yours will be ok.

I got this Hammond collection and it looks like a indominus Rex due to the arms but it’s very good though the sculptors really did their jobs! (Little off but it’s alright)
While the head might be inaccurate to the film from a forward facing angle, in real life the Giganotosaurus had laterally placed eyes and for a large theropod lacked a high degree of binocular vision so I don’t mind not being able to clearly see the Gigi’s eyes on the Hammond collection figure as it makes it more accurate to the real animal, granted the movie giga lacks any real resemblance to the real thing, like what’s going on with its back?
Real life giga could see from the front. You would be able to see the eyes from the front. Its binocular vision was definitely not that of a T. rex, but the mattel giga is definitely not accurate to real life as it's completely blind from the front. Regardless of how accurate it is to the real animal it should still depict the one in the movie as closely as possible.
@@MarcoMakesOfficial My apologies, never meant to say that the Giga had no binocular vision, just that it had much less of it compared to other theropods, but as a sculpt based on the animal from the film your right should be as close to accurate as possible.
@Kohl_Barsness no need to apologise, I guess I might have come across a bit strong lol. But yes although some design choices in the film are a but odd, they should all be portrayed properly in its collectible form

Also, side topic. Can you do a repaint tutorial on the hammond collection blue figure? The strip going across the thigh and not over it is the biggest flaw with the figure and I'd like to see you repaint it, if possible.

Mine arrived at the same day of the video premiere, and luckily it didn't have quality control issue. I'm very happy to add this new apex predator to my collection.
Besides the quality control issues, my biggest issue is the arms. He’s got spino sized arms. Though big arms are an issue that I noticed with these figures. I guess they can’t make them smaller?
Otherwise a pretty good figure.

the triceratops is my all time favorite dino. i was really disappointed with the hammond triceratops. the size and the beak doesnt even open. a release of the triceratops is needed
I love the Terizinasaurus I just bough today, and look forward to this Giga! The joint strength has improved imo compared to the looseness of the HC t rex, so if this giga is similar to the strength of my Theri, I am looking forward to this. This should be the mainline, the only line, the quality Mattel's toys should be. HC at its best should be the standard imo. Are they more expensive? yes. However, I think fi they focused and produced more of these guys as their mainline instead of a collector offshoot, that could help with prices.

I've never been one to get hung up on screen accuracy to an unhealthy degree. It gets more right than wrong. I'm cool with it being slightly different from the movies. Anyone who looks at the toy will know exactly where it is from and that's all it has to do. Keen to pick it up but it has been a real thorn in the side to find in Australia.
When I first saw this thing, I was surprised it was a Mattel figure. They have improved SO much since I last bought a Hammond collection. My last one was the Tyrannosaurus, and I used to say that was the best one of the bunch, but since then, I've been noticing more and more flaws. First off, the proportions (of course), and second, I really don't like the eyes on the thing. It makes the figure look like a Transformer. And for me, it felt so out of place, that I've changed my opinion.
Honestly, j don't think the feet and arms with the sculptors issue. My theory has been that the proportions were actually modified by the factories floor managers, they often do last minute hcange sfor issues with balancing and such.

I really want this figure the Jwd giga is one of the best genetically modified dinosaurs of the franchise and one of my personal favourite Jp/w dinos
Bruh. JWD Giga is not a genetically modified. Biosyn said they cloned dinosaurs with 100% pure DNA. And the prologue giga has a same appearance as Biosyn Giga with some unique differences.
That's mean JWD giga is 100% pure animal. It' just has an inaccurate design to the scientific.
And that means this is the appearance of the pure-breed Giga in the Jurassic franchise only.

You know, in the movie Independence Day, the Harvester aliens had their 1st invasion all planned out when they invaded Earth in 1996. Like, On July 2nd, the Harvesters arrive. July 3rd, they lay waste to Washington, DC, New York, Las Vegas, and London. The on July 4th, we fight back and celebrate OUR INDEPENDENCE Day!
It's a hard 1 because I'm not sure I wanna buy the figure now, the hands and face sculpt I'm not a fan of especially the front of the face, it's so frustrating that HC had all the model files from the movie and didn't use them and turned them into action figures, they have all the gadgets and stuff then us 😂

The giga didn't have the vision that the rex had. Its eyes were on the side of its head.
edit: It did have steroscopic vision, to some extent
100% correct. But you could definitely see its eyes from the front. That was my point. Mattel's giga's head isn't accurate from the front.

Like the arms are perfectly fine and and the head "criticism" just comes off as you being way to nitpicky, it is still great and accurate enough. It doesn't have to be 100% spot on :/

In real life, Giga's arms are smaller than in JWD. and HC Giga has bigger arms than in the movie. That seems too exaggerated to me. Big arms like that is better on spino than for a giga.

The Hammond Carnotaurus has the worst articulation out of the 3 Hammond figures you mentioned and the neck doesn't even rotate. The Carnie also has a weird cheap plastic-y look to it. Both the Giga and Theri are much better than the Carnie.
For the films accuracy Carno is still the best tho.
