Great to see this upgrade. You should get a pneumatic vacuum bleeder that runs off a compressor, it makes breaker bleeding a short experience vs. pump, pump, pump, pump... When I do it I plan to add banjos with bleeders at either end. It makes shorter work of the bleeding.
Don't use Phillips head screw drivers on the front brake reservoir. It is not Phillips it's JIS Japanese industrial standard. Looks similar but Phillips will strip them out. Goodluck
I love this bike even though i don't own this but still love this bike, kind of dream bike as from low cc class. Maybe sometime in future i can buy this bike but as of now im poor 😅
I did the Caliper upgrade but I am not doing the master cylinder I have an awesome lever atm which I will not get rid off I might find out if my lever will fit a R6/R1 master cylinder and get one of those as there made for 4 pistons also used a banjo bolt sold from the same shop but I had to use 2 washers on each side of the brakeline connection
I upgraded my R3 to steel lines and Vesrah pads some time ago. It was a noticeable upgrade from stock, more so when I'm on a spirited ride than the daily commute. Would you say upgrading to Brembo's and the Frando would be an even bigger upgrade? For a daily commuter bike that gets ridden hard 4-8 times per month would the upgrade be worth the money? Thanks! I've enjoyed all of your videos.
giff74 The choice of pads might be larger with the Brembo caliper. Can only imagine braking performance is better. I commute every day on this bike and occasional fun machine. Definately worth the upgrade considering how much I ride it.
I'm thinking of doing the same too, upgrade to steel lines and install new pads. I'm not keeping my R3 forever, so I don't want to spend it's price in parts by the very end.
Rishabh Bhardwaj it works very well but I got the 15x18 one. Can't help but wonder if the 17x18 would give more initial bite. Brakes work excellently though.
jack black. Deprive you of the ability to gain new skills and learn to do maintenance on your own bike. Also gaining a sense of achievement and the self satisfaction you get through doing the job well. 😀
you forgot to say yes or no. your reply doesnt lean either way lol I do all my own work on my bike. never done forks tho. and its a way to get to meet other cool dudes. what did you think I just dropped the bike off and said have at it. LOL id be a total dick haha
Quick question, do you have to replace the brake lever? I like my CRG after market levers but want to upgrade the stock calipers and master cylinder. Thank you.
i have half of your setup except i didnt upgrade my master cylinder and how big is your frando MC? 16 or 17mm? by the way, does your new front break emit sounds when braking? mine does and i have no idea how to solve it
Liger-Zero 15mm master cylinder. 17 might be too much. Not sure. I'm getting what I would describe as a sandy sound when braking firmly. Put that down to the standard pads and used brake disc. Mine has 40 000 km on it.
Hi, I just installed the brembo p4 brake caliper, keeping the original brake pump, to keep the ABS that the brake pump should I buy? frando what model? brembo what model? Thanks in advance.
@@blackbiker3718 The bike has ABS. So from the caliper it has a soft line then it is a hard line under the fuel tank then it goes into another soft line then another hard line to the ABS module.
It's a HEL brake line I had before the brake upgrade. I needed it due to the banjo fitting on original one hitting stuff when I put the vortex clipons on.
Whether the stock brake line length will suit the new set up? Because I am planning to change stock rubber line to steel braided brake line first and later will change the caliper and master cylinder.

sorry, but the reservoir bracket looks like something the kid next door made with this 3D printer....... painting everything including the reservoir black might have helped it to look a lot more like it was SUPPOSED to be there......

Recommend replacing the brake lines with Galfer while you're at it.

Great video, thanks for uploading this!
Ahmad N Thanks. 😃
Hello! I would like to know if the abs still holds up and if it is worth upgrading if I am a tourer but not much of a track guy.
i would totally do that but don't want to cut my wires and don't really need that brake power on the street
for a moment there, I thought that when you tightened the front brake at 0:18 the horn would honk.

Should atleast replace that brake reservoir too..and now.. Wheres the test run?
What are the length of brake hoses for the abs variant? Want to change mine to steel or teflon hose
Friend, you need recalibred new the abs
This uses the stock brake pad?
Hey bro can you please tell me how is the radial master cylinder holding up I'm also looking to upgrade mine to that !

Any review for the frando master pump?
hey you live in brisbane? how many beers would it take to help me do my fork oil :P

hey cillion5, no rear tire upgrade yet?? could be awesome
ramon torres barraza upgrade to what? Still haven't found the limits of the Pirelli Rosso II tyres.
Quick question, do you have to replace the brake lever? I like my CRG after market levers but want to upgrade the stock calipers and master cylinder. Thank you.
R3TXRider I had to replace my lever as that's what the master cylinder came with. The levers are totally different so couldn't be interchanged anyway.

cillion5 where did you get the adapter for the brembo?
kelvin espinal I got mine from Webike in Japan, but you can get them from a few places.
Hi, I just installed the brembo p4 brake caliper, keeping the original brake pump, to keep the ABS that the brake pump should I buy? frando what model? brembo what model? Thanks in advance.
I used the Frando 7NB master cylinder. 15mm. Brembo master cylinder very expensive. I don't doubt it would be better though.
R3? No need to upgrade, the stock caliper will work just fine.save your money.
Yes indeed the stock caliper will work fine. But since I have done the upgrade I can say that this caliper provides stronger braking.
@@cillion5 why are you not using steel braided brake line...
Sorry for my bed English 😅😅😅

Hi , You have upgraded your 2piston caliper to 4piston caliper,Are you facing any issue in your ABS ?
Is that galfer brake line? Is yes, whether the r3 stock size galfer line suit the new brake system made?
It's a HEL brake line I had before the brake upgrade. I needed it due to the banjo fitting on original one hitting stuff when I put the vortex clipons on.
What is the banjo bolt size in the caliper side? Does caliper comes with the bolt and crush washer? Or we need to get separate?
The brake caliper has a 1mm pitch thread. You'll have to buy a banjo bolt to suit.
Whether the stock brake line length will suit the new set up? Because I am planning to change stock rubber line to steel braided brake line first and later will change the caliper and master cylinder.
Sir, Whats the total cost of the setup?
Sheikh Mohammad Mohsin approx. $400 Aussie dollars. That's the brake caliper, caliper mount and radial master cylinder.
cillion5 Thanks for your reply sir.

www.tygaeurope.com/index.php/by-model/yamaha/yzf-r25-r3/bracket-front-brake-cnc-black-40mm-brembo-yamaha-r25-r3.html
you see the page they have very good proudoct, bye!
Can i install on r15??? Plez tell me
What is the part no number for the brembo caliper? And it is axial caliper, isn't it?
Mani kandan 20.5165.68 is part number. Yes it's axially mounted.
What is the size of your tire in front and rear?
110 front 140 rear. i have those same Pirelli Diablo tires on my R3, they work flawlessly in summer and have a lot of grip in winter too
Why does the r125 have nice upside forks. R3 forks are average at best, what a rip off
because the R125/R15 for revamped the R3 will get them either in 2018 or 2019
Where did you buy the bracket ?
Joseph Trần Webike.
Please compare Brembo Rcs vs Frando master cylinder
Whats going on at 3.00 min
abhilash v the connector for the brake light switch wasn't the same as the bike so had to replace it.
Abs work with brembo p4?
Danix yes it does. Had to test it and it seems to work fine.
cillion5 ok, thank you!

does r3 come with nissin callipers in stock or what?
When I was changing the brake pads, I didn't notice any logo on the caliper, but it's probably some low end nissin stuff
The rear brake pump has NISSIN engraved on it….
