Super helpful ... Thanks. I use the help of my 9 years old daughter (paid her 10$ to keep her interested :) ). I align things up and she pushes the rod. I also used a brick under the wheel to make things easier. Appreciate you insisting on doing it alone to make the video more helpful to loners ;)
I’m literally having the same problem as we speak with connecting the spacer and caliber right now… and decide to see if I’m the only one having issues…. Geez… this is a pain in the ass!! Lol
@@jamesmcguinness1530 could put the axle half through to support the left side. and then adjust the caliper... he was really struggling.... also get a helper
@@thomascook7976 mmm ... my worry would be that it might bend the axle rod. some bricks under the wheel will help keep things aligned. Another idea would be to remove the brake pads, and put them later after the wheel is in place. will also make pushing the piston easier, as you will have room to push it by hand.
Ive done this, however now the abs sensor hits the ring and the body of the brake assemby hits the rotor. However I dont see or have any missing spacers. After fitting new sprocket, pads and rotor.
@@motorcyclemaintenancechann2131 thanks for the reply, I did, otherwise on braking the caliper would lose position. It looks as if im missing a 1mm shim ring between the spacer and caliper bracket… Only I cannot remember taking a spacer out, ill have to fight it tomorrow i guess
Thanks! I found it, my brother forgot the spacer between the biggest and the middle bearing, forcing the bearing near the caliper into the wheel and braking it. Resulting in enough space so the abs sensor and body of the brake assembly hit the rotors. Found it and fixed it, hope the abs sensor is fine… learn your lesson from this haha, check each other..
Lmk where you are having trouble. Its definitely not an easy job and helps if you have a friend that can help. Its doable by yourself but your definitely going to sweat and fight a bit with it.
Just got done putting a new tire on my MT03 after getting a nail on the old tire. This video was very helpful!!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for watching!

Awesome your daughter helps you out!
Glad you like the videos!
Thank you almost forgot a spacer, life saver!
Your muffler looks identical to mine! Weird white mark that I can never get to go away. lol

Fire video bro, helped me change my tire easily 🤝🏽
Didn’t have a skateboard handy but had an empty motor oil bottle, put it under the tire and let air escape till it was the perfect height 👌🏽
I'm just curious, wouldn't have been easier to put the caliper on the rotor after putting the wheel on? Instead of fighting the wheel..
That would be a good way to go about it.
I realized after I typed that, the axle actually goes through a hole in the caliper bracket if you watch close enough.

You got a spud wrench?

Make sure the brake caliper is secure in the swing arm slot.

@@nickvriend8948 Great! Glad you were able to find that!!!
Thanks!
Omg them birds where were heated in the background they having one serious argument one of em musta slept with one of their friends girl
this rear brake mounting solution at Yamaha is really crap. Yesterday "played" 1,5 hours to put the rear wheel back.
Uufff....my boy was breaking a sweat. I got an Mt 03. So...pretty much same as the r3.
I think just less fairings on the MT 03, but same thing as R3.
Thanks for watching!
That's what ive been thinking too.
tire spoons save you money change it yourself
Save $30 or 30minutes 🤷
Pretty sure I've seen dudes remove and reinstall the rear brake caliper with the wheel mounted? Might not be such a bitch if that's the case.
I’ve tried this, it’s really hard. Yamaha engineer’s brain is broken.
