This kid is Amazing!!.. I seen him last night at the Center in the Square in Kitchener..Opened for Jeff Beck... Great show!!!!.. Blew the audience away.. !!! Well worth the money:) I loved it when Jeff called him back on stage to join in on an encore song.. wicked playing!!
Thank you for capturing an incredible, passionate, and very real and gritty performance. Wish I was there to experience it firsthand. Nice framing of the shoot as well. More please!
I'm just discovering your stuff for the first time tonight, and I'm blown out by it. Thank god there are still young artists that still love making organic music.
I saw Tyler open for Heart in Monterey in the summer of 2009 and absolutely loved him. Here's to a bright future, Tyler - you've got what it takes, without a doubt.
I've been to hundreds of rock and roll shows including Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, AC/DC... you name 'em I've probably seen 'em. Tyler (at 21 years old, mind you) is hands down the most skilled musician I've ever seen. The music industry is polluted with shit "pop" music, and all we need is a guitar slinger to come and break the bullshit.
dude this is the best new artist ive found in a long time this is literally the first song i heard and im speechless. keep it up man this is freakin awesome
I saw this guy live opening for Jeff Beck very excellent showman and guitar player. Jeff says"As for opener, 20-year-old Texas blues guitar prodigy Tyler Bryant, he’s got a long way to go before he’s considered even a cherub. Talented, true, the solo “living room jam” he put on was skilful, but offered little different from the endless parade of “next Stevie Rays” the world has been treated to over the past two decades - not a false prophet, but neither the next coming."
He's awesome!!!! Saw a PBS documentary about Robert Night (yeah, I'm a dork) and decided to look Tyler up..... Turns out he's EFFING AMAZING......... Holy effing Stevie Ray..... Maybe even better (dare I go there?!) WILL be purchasing your music.
The kid has a lot of talent and skill I never meant to reduce his appeal I was just saying a lot of guys out there are doing the same cut and paste stuff... I am in a personal rut myself , I am having a tough time makin new of my unique sound that I am sure most people find to be a nonsense but I have caught some peoples interest and it is provoking to say the least... Heart felt music is the best especially on the fly in my opinion , that kids licks were cut n paste atm he will evolve. Cheers!
@andymerrick damn I am surprised you caught that and where I cut pasted it from. If Jeff Beck did not agree I am sure he would not post it on his site. I thought the young fella was awesome. My mistake was putting "Jeff says" my bad. If you did not point that out I don't think I would have caught on tbh. Cheers :)
Ya we almost got that debut album but we got shorted on time and line up was quite long lol he made quite an impression at the show :) But after watching Jeff Beck paps and I almost went home and burn our guitars.... lol
@jonahtran1 it depends on the songwriter actually but what you say is correct, its to get a different sound, also fingerpicking guitarists likes it because it makes note reaching easier, and it has a far more open sound to it as to standard tuning...and well to play slide, you gotta play in an open tuning because they can only use single note when they use the slide right? but when they tune it to open tuning, they can strum all the string, because the guitar already has a standard note to it.
love Tyler Dow Bryant. had his first blues album "born in texas" its a great album. his new modern blues/rock tunes are awesome!....but just a little advice for the camera guy..maybe you should focus a little more on still shots every now and then. the camera moving around constantly was just a bit annoying. If you want to get different shots, i'd recommend you use more than one camera.
@jonahtran1 It opens up the possibility of different chord formations that would be impossible in standard tuning. Tune your guitar to open E, then finger what would normally be an E chord and you'll hear the difference. That chord would be physically impossible in standard tuning. Try tuning in DADGAD and a whole new world opens up. It's all about experimentation and self expression.
@SungguhMenegangkan I've never understood the purpose of playing in different tunings. I mean other than obviously getting a different sound, is it supposed to make playing easier or reaching the right notes easier?
@CapnCrossbones Jeff didn't say that. That's a review from someone at the Calgary Herald. The entire review was copy and pasted from their review to the News section on Jeff's website.
how can i get this guys stuff preferable d-load it i dont mind paying at all..i hope he has alot of acoustic stuff like this..can anyone suggest any other artist like this
@wicksanu so just because this vid has 40k+ clicks i should change my mind? no way, i know what i'm talking about because that's my opinion, an i mean what i say. don't try to indoctrinate me please....
@JordiieDrummer He's probably in drop D tuning. If you can learn how to use a slide it probably wouldn't be that hard. Then again I have no idea. I've never used a slide out of 5 years of playing. lol. Try learning some Beatles.
Thank God for this guy. Finally a young artist who plays pure music from the soul, not the keyboard.
To this day this is still the best version of this song he has done.
Thank you for capturing an incredible, passionate, and very real and gritty performance. Wish I was there to experience it firsthand. Nice framing of the shoot as well. More please!

Awesome live! Seeing him again tonight in Indy.
The world's next great entertainer. You're so SOLID kid. Looking forward to this kind of magic for many years. You're one in a trillion.

Damn that was awesome.
Kid's cool. Dig the wallpaper background!
AWESOME!!!
he is amazing.
This is the real deal. He should be more well known than the garbage rappers of today's music scene.
Very, very good. The voice reminds me of a young John Corabi.
I saw this guy live opening for Jeff Beck very excellent showman and guitar player.

Opening for Jeff Beck tomorrow (Oct. 18, 2011) at Massey Hall, Toronto!
Yay!
Tyler, I love you. Just thought you should know.
It's definitely open F# tuning; same as kick the habit and last one leaving. I play it in that tuning and it sounds just like it
just saw him live with jeff beck amazing show!
*Like it* 👌
I'm a beginner at guitar and I came to this video again to try learn it. and I just looked at it and was like .................. oh.
very cool....
I'm jealous. He's wayy better than me. This dude is badass.
He makes me think of Mark Farner of grand funk railroad.
F**k yeah talent for a change !
Just get in my bed... thanks
oh and dont forget the guitar

i love how he plays starting at 2:40-3:14
He actually was just practicing that lick it sounds like cuz he fucked off the time for a minute
@andymerrick damn I am surprised you caught that and where I cut pasted it from.

that's the mojo I know ya lil bro!! Great Job!!
Ya we almost got that debut album but we got shorted on time and line up was quite long lol he made quite an impression at the show :) But after watching Jeff Beck paps and I almost went home and burn our guitars.... lol
This is the best version fo sho, and nobody sounds like Cage the Elephant 🐘, Cage the Elephant sounds like everyone else. Lol
@jonahtran1 it depends on the songwriter actually but what you say is correct, its to get a different sound, also fingerpicking guitarists likes it because it makes note reaching easier, and it has a far more open sound to it as to standard tuning...and well to play slide, you gotta play in an open tuning because they can only use single note when they use the slide right? but when they tune it to open tuning, they can strum all the string, because the guitar already has a standard note to it.
that is hot.
What Key is this in? Anyone?
Tyler is great. Glad to see a young guy putting out acoustic blues songs instead of just ripping on electric.
It sounds like all his strings are all tuned sharp. The low E sounds like an F#, its in an open tuning F# major maybe
love Tyler Dow Bryant. had his first blues album "born in texas" its a great album. his new modern blues/rock tunes are awesome!....but just a little advice for the camera guy..maybe you should focus a little more on still shots every now and then. the camera moving around constantly was just a bit annoying. and where's that video where he's playin a electric version of this song (with that bassist who looks like Andy Timmons)?
@jonahtran1 It opens up the possibility of different chord formations that would be impossible in standard tuning. Tune your guitar to open E, then finger what would normally be an E chord and you'll hear the difference. That chord would be physically impossible in standard tuning. @naff01 It's open g but a half step down.
My future loverr.. 0_o
♥ ;)
The Chix dig his hair' whatchoo know about Rock n Roll Friend'
@SungguhMenegangkan I've never understood the purpose of playing in different tunings. I mean other than obviously getting a different sound, is it supposed to make playing easier or reaching the right notes easier?
Jonny Lang 13 years ago - Lie to Me

how can i get this guys stuff preferable d-load it i dont mind paying at all..i hope he has alot of acoustic stuff like this..can anyone suggest
any other artist like this
@voodoochild234 Drop both of your E strings to D, then drop your A string to G and you're in Open G tuning.
The boy can play the hell out of guitar no doubt, but he needs a few years of cigarettes and whiskey for a voice to match it....'ya know like Stevie.
gospel! ;-)
@jonahtran1 actually thats open G
Hey! Do anyone knows what tuning is he using?
Open F#
Whats the tuning for this song??
Guitar tune?
CAGE THE ELEPHANT AINT NO REST FOR THE WICKED. VERY SIMILAR
Watch ( Rock Prophecies Official Trailer ) before you judge this kid and his motive. Realy a great kid 5 stars
@naff01 Tuning is open F#

Barely 20 yrs old..like a young John hammond jr. Bit of John mayer and full of energy..
he's super good. too bad he sounds like cage the elephant
@simplemann open G
@wicksanu so just because this vid has 40k+ clicks i should change my mind? no way, i know what i'm talking about because that's my opinion, an i mean what i say. don't try to indoctrinate me please....
