I remember seeing Tyler when he was a teenager starting out on a news report. He was impressive. I created his Wikipedia entry because I knew he was going to have a long career. It is great to see him doing so well. I hope he has a long success career playing classic American music along with his originals. It gives me joy to know he, along with others, will keep it a living music for the next generation. Muddy Waters and those great Chicago players and Delta players deserve never to fade from civilization. Robert Johnson should live forever!

Tyler Bryant is an amazing player. I first heard him when he opened for Jeff Beck in about 2011 or 2012 on a tour across Canada. Barely old enough to legally buy alcohol here (if even), definitely not old enough to buy liquor in the US. And being thrust onto stages where 90% of the audience were other guitarists and one of the biggest legends of the instrument hanging out at the side of the stage all eagerly listening to every note he played... no pressure. My first real intro into smokin' slide was "Dallas(Goin' back to Dallas)" by Johnny. I was floored in my teens by this.

  • @ericeugenecole7090

I like the way Tyler talks about learning melodies. The play it fretted tip is so sensible.
The idea of starting the process with good intonation and then sliding in and sliding out here and there to add some personality is spot on.
Upgrading the pre-amp he was using with his Mule guitar would be a big help to this video. The distortion of that pre-amp was an irritating distraction from his music which made it hard to focus on what he was demonstrating.
I hope Tyler can make a go of it as a musician. He clearly has the talent to eek out a living if wants to.
His lets put together a demo approach was a superb; it showed how one needs a solid and basic foundation as an under pinning to build a good final product. Too many music instruction videos ignore the basics and seem to assume that the audience understands the underlying basics.

Hey Tyler cool slide work,,, when you said one of your guitars fell on the floor,,, just so you know this is what I do when I get a new guitar,, I remove the strap holders and glue the screws in, with a washer on each end, use longer screws if needed and use guitar straps that can't come off, I use The Ibanez clip buckle straps so the ends of the strap always stays on the guitar and the buckle strap goes on another guitar , never fails,,, just thought I would pass that on,,, again awesome slide work,,, Rhett ,great video-Duanne allman, my favorite slide player,,GOD BLESS you guys,,,,, RJ.

I was hoping that Rebecca would pop in during that final jam and start blasting out some vocals! I became a huge Larkin Poe fan first, and then started learning about Tyler. Now, seeing Rhett show up at their house to jam is just the ultimate treat. Rhett, you definitely need to do something with Rebecca and Megan, too! Great to see these young ones carrying forward the soul of the blues.

Johnny Winter is the reason I picked up a guitar & taught myself . . . . Tyler is about the closest re-incarnation to JDW playing that I have heard . . . . it's really nice that the younger players still carry on the traditional styles of the great ones who most have sadly passed . . . All the best & stay well . . .

When you are used to making money and things go down hill in a hurry and you look around and think damn all this work and I'm going to lose it all for nothing you can control. Everytime I listen to the final cut, my head gets to bobbin and my feet get to jumping around and then I start to flapping my arms around like a headless chicken. My wife says it's the craziest thing she's ever seen. I don't care...it's what moves me and I'm in charge of how I get my groove on. So, that being said, I'm inclined to listen again and do some more flapping...Crank It Up!
