so in 8th grade, there was a new girl in our school and I became friends with her. we became really close and one day we were talking about the country she’s from, turkey. so this girl gets really serious and she’s saying she’s gonna tell me something no one else knows. she starts to tell me how she’s actually a princess LIKE AN ACTUAL PRINCESS. and how she’s running away from people who were opposed to the royals in her country and shit. it doesnt end there. so she would always wear long sleeves and she lifted up her sleeves and showed me a bunch of dark spots all over her arm, they kind of looked like bug bites lmfao anyways she told me that someone tried to poison her and shit and thats where those marks are from and thats why she had to run away from her country of Turkey, bro this girl really tried to tell me her life was basically the plot of princess protection program 😭😂

I had a friend that lied SO much. She would tell me that her stepdad threw her through the window and that he threw her off the roof and that he lit their house on fire and that her mom had cancer. She deadass told me that her mom got cancer and that her stepdad broke her leg but the next day she was fine and i told her mom i hope she felt better and her mom was like " what are you talking about, im good " and i was like brooo she said you have cancer !

I had a friend who had a job at Starbucks while we were in high school. He would leave early from school claiming he had to go to work. He sent us a picture of his uniform and the picture was from google. When we asked him why he lied he couldn’t even come up with anything. He literally lied about having a job nobody cared about 🙄

The dumbest lie I have ever been told was that my boyfriend at the time had a baby. I actually found out that he didn't have a child from his mother!!!! She honestly looked at me and was like "He doesn't have a child. " I was so embarrassed. I broke up with him immediately.

Small things like that don't really matter, but I HATE when someone is lying about those small things. I always ask myself how would they act when it comes to more important and bigger things if they are lying about some totally irrelevant shit.
I went on holiday with a friend and she had an outfit she wanted to wear. It was all white and she told me to take a picture of her.
I took the picture and she posted it on Instagram with the caption "#allwhiteparty #greekgodessthemedparty" when I'm reality we just walked along the beach n had a drink at a bar.
She then decided to post the picture into our group chat for our friends back home. One guy said "what's the party like, show us" of course, we weren't at a damn party but she sent a short vid of the bar to the bar and someone replied "you sure u got the right place? It looks empty"
Still wanting to keep up the lie, she replied "yh it's still early it's not started yet" I didn't say anything, I didn't correct her in the group because it was pretty obvious she was lying, she was only fooling herself.
It was this incident that made me start drifting from her. Anyone that needs to lie to impress people is clearly not worth being around.

One day I called to my boyfriend's house and his dad answered, I thought it was him and started telling him "Hey, babe! How are you?" and his dad was like "Who is this?" and I was like "Babe, it's me." and he recognized my voice so he was like "Oh! Hi, Nat! Let me put Adrian on the phone." I started laughing and told my boyfriend what happened, and that I was so glad I didn't say anything inappropriate.
So next time I called he tried to prank by pretending he was his dad, but this time I recognized him and I was like "Adrian... I know it's you." but then he insisted and said "No no! I'm my dad!" *instant facepalm*

In kindergarten, I told my friend that my birthday was in March (which it is) and she lied to me about that her birthday was in the fall, so she could be older than me, and it wasn’t until before spring break where our parents were at the school with us, doing an Easter egg hunt, where her mom told me that her birthday was in May😂😂😂
I had a friend in elementary who took the school bus with me. She would tell me she had a giraffe & lions living in her house. She also told me she went on a boat to Alcatraz, here in San Francisco, & she came across a shark that almost got her leg but was able to get only her shoe.. I legit believed her until I went home to my mom & told her about it 😂

She actually thought I would care about what her parents did or where they lived. Like my family went through the same exact thing and yet, she felt the need to lie. smhhhh

I took all standard classes in high school. I was really self conscious about being in standard classes. All my friends were taking AP classes, where as I took honors English freshman year and struggled. After watching this video you definitely helped me realize I had no reason to be insecure. I wasn’t dumb, I was an athlete, with a demanding schedule. I didn’t have the time to do all that extra work.

Dumbest lie ever told to me: when I was 13, I'd go camping with my family, and we'd always go to the same place. This girl would also always go the same holidays, so we became friends, but at the beginning of our friendship, she told me she was like an arch angel or something...I don't even know. I went along with it (even though I knew it wasn't true) because she said that we couldn't be friends if I told anyone....looking back I think that she wasn't completely right in the head...

A dumb lie i was told:
So me and my friend usually sync up on our periods, like damn near every month we start on the same day. Last month when my period came i was complaining to her about it and ended my rant by asking if she was on her period. For the simple fact of keeping our “sync streak” she lied and said she was on. The way i found out she didn’t actually start, was bc 2 weeks later she ran to me asking for a pad bc she randomly started. I was confused bc she was supposed to have “already had her period” so i asked if she was joking bc she already told me she started this month and her dumbass completely forgot she lied and said that too me. Literally the pettiest lie I’ve ever gotten

I remember back in high school one of my exes lied to me about being in a certain class too and I didn't find out till months later from a friend he was taking a special ed class during that period bc he needed extra help in a particular subject I guess he was too embarrassed but I never brought it up to him bc I didn't want to put his self esteem lower but I always thought it was soo dumb to lie about such a thing but I guess guys are just to prideful sometimes
