They occasionally make these test runs Wayne, to make sure that they are working well, just in case they are ever needed...If we had the amount of snow that you get over there, they wouldn't cope!!
Thanks very much, on these Snow Plough Test runs, there was a cut out on the plough for the Driver to have limited vision. but there also had to be a second person in the cab for signal sighting etc.
Nice selection Bob, wouldn't it be good to capture the snow plough in action...or maybe not! Hope you enjoy your 'freedom' from next week and that some good filming weather is on the way
Thanks Austin, it seems unreal to be able to travel without restrictions, however there's nothing to go out and enjoy, the preserved lines remain closed. A large section of the Central Wales Line has been closed due to a major fault with a river bridge at Pontarddulais...Things can oinly get better!
Enjoyed that Bob, interesting workings and a friendly RHTT driver too. Are the ploughs based in South Wales for the Central Wales line. Regards, Brian.
Thanks Brian, the Snow Ploughs were based at Cardiff and Margam for use anywhere in South Wales should they be needed. However, they are no longer here, as I'm sure you're aware, heavy snowfall is a rare occurrence in this part of the World....Best wishes...Bob
Brilliant compilation Bob. Excellent choice of clips. Superb shots of the snow plough. And the royal train. Absolutely fantastic. Best wishes C&A
Thanks very much both, your support and kind comments mean a great deal...Best wishes...Bob
Excellent compilation Bob. The snow ploughs were fascinating. Never seen one on the move. Regards, Dave.
They were tested once a year Dave, unfortunately there are not based in South Wales any more....Not that we get much snow anyway!...Regards...Bob
Bob that is the first time I have seen a snow plow in your area over all the years I have watch your videos.

Great Video Rob ,I think the drivers are getting to recognise you now !!
True Merv, and that's why I must always behave myself.
Another great compilation Bob! We don’t get a lot of snow up here these days - even in the highland main line to Inverness. Best wishes. Ken
Being on the Coast Ken, we get even less, but it's good when these ploughs are out on test....Regards...Bob
Well, the snow plough certainly did its job well. Not a flake of snow anywhere❄️⛄
Ha..ha...indeed Steve, if this Country had that much snow, I doubt if we would cope anyway.
@@robmasterman Do you have any idea what they were doing, Bob? Was it just a test or training run?
Thank you!
My pleasure Martin.
Very good Robert :)
Thank you as always Simon.
Another good video, the video and sound quality is very excellent. The visibility must be very bad with those snow plows
Thanks very much, on these Snow Plough Test runs, there was a cut out on the plough for the Driver to have limited vision. but there also had to be a second person in the cab for signal sighting etc.
First time have ever seen snow plows in Great Britain.
There's rarely a need for them, but these runs are to ensure they are working, should the need ever arise.
Thank you for another very interesting upload...The Snow ploughs looked like something from a Bond or Star Wars movie.....Best wishes Chris
Thanks Chris, seeing the Snow Ploughs out on a test run is a rare treat....Best wishes...Bob
