Wait till you see the one I filmed that goes from Rock Island to Davenport. Built in 1895 over the Mississippi River. I filmed a train going over it and I filmed the bridge up close
A sight for sore eyes, an empty coal train going back to reload. We in the UK saw the very last load of coal run to the very last coal fired power station at Ratcliffe on Soar this week. The power plant is on standby mode until final closure at the end of September. End of an era! Coal was what led to the building of the railways and now for us it's all over. Makes it even more enjoyable to see that 110 car train rumbling along. Definitely envious of you seeing all that black gold still going by rail. Thanks for another video at one of my favourite bridges. Just a pity N&W 611 wasn't on the front! Can't ask for everything though.
Wow, that is sad but that is where we are headed also. To me it seems like we might have more coal moving this year than in the past few years. I love seeing the coal trains. I hope you saw that video I posted the other day of a coal train going over that bridge with 2 DPUs in the middle and one on the end. Anyway, thanks for watching
The UK is going coal free to save the world from global warming 🤣🤣 they think the rest of the world is with them one tiny little island is going to save China 🇨🇳 Russia 🇷🇺 India 🇮🇳 and The USA From floods and fires 🤔😇
Coal keeps the lights on 😆. Doing the same here in Aus. Export heaps but won’t use it ourselves, while electricity prices go through the roof to support so called green power. 🤷🏼♂️
22:26 Clickety-Clack stops when they hit the welded rail! I thought something was wrong with my sound it got so quiet! A very unusual catch and another classic JT production. Thanks for enduring the heat for us!!
I heard that sound loud and clear! What an awesome video with the coal train passing underneath itself!! Well done my friend 🧡 Start the video Mr. Tooth...
This is a great Part 2 video from your 21 June 2024 trip to Kenova, West Virginia, Jaw Tooth! That was a clever idea on your part to go up on the trestle when the empty coal train stopped on the trestle before proceeding. You were able to capture the last part of the train as it finished crossing the trestle. Then you were able to capture the same train as it headed in a westerly direction under the bridge. I was pleased to see that you and the other railfans who were in Kenova on 21 June 2024 were standing in the shade as you captured the trains going across the trestle at the end of the video. (30 June 2024 at 1848 CGT)
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains in Kenova, West Virginia, I like them, they're awesome, @JawTooth, thank you very much and have a wonderful weekend.
Awesome video. When you moved up on the embankment, that was a good spot! It really showed the length of the train and the bridge. I hate the summer, easy too hot! Thanks for the video Brian stay well roll on and stay cool
Thanks for the gas money again Mark! I really appreciate it and might be putting it to use tomorrow. I am on the fence about going to Davenport, Iowa to film the Canadian steam train. I keep going back and forth but I think I am going. Anyway thanks again!
Come across the bridge steady but slow. Then with your partner to the left you must go. Keep banking that turn and go.back below. Add for all the waiting fans you gave a great show. The national square dance convention is in Milwaukee this weekend so here's to calling in the coal train. Thanks for that nice detailed map including the coal handling terminals they go to. I forgot to thank you for the walkthrough on that bridge under the CSX but it'll be hard to walk next to your girlfriend hand in hand as it is narrow. Your shot today looking across it indicates there were probably two or three more tracks Once Upon a Time. Great domestic Intermodal plus the mixed Freight had its boxcars. While it had TTX flats and Center beams as well as autoracks yet NOT a single TBOX boxcar. Excellent video now back to the coàl trains
What a spot , trains do not always have to be fast to impress.! Super once again for the 3 view JT. Pine & 8th (just east) according to Google nearby looks like a good spot to shoot the trackage you ended with beneath trestle. Yes, over and under going up the over side of the Ohio River.
I always love the "live-action pets" segments, Brian. Your dogs are simply marvelous and they are lucky to have you and your family as their masters. Cheers, my friend. 👍👍
That coal trains looks like it is pulling up hard.. I don't know what that unusual sound was. Wow!😮 What a long train over that bridge.😊You always give good information..We always learn something from you. Always sweet fur babies at play. Enjoyed this very much. Thanks Mr JT❤😊
JT you need to get you a straw hat to wear. You will be surprised how cool that thing will keep you and also get that blue gel pack that’s made to fit around your neck and you throw it in the freezer at night and take it with you the next day and put it around your neck and it will keep you cool, but anyway, my friend another awesome video and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one. Oh and have a good weekend too my friend.
Hot in Arkansas as well. Love the open boxcar. Man slow running coal train. But the next two really sped up . Love the bridge shots. Be cool to have a drone shot after the first train makes the turn
Hey jaw tooth cool trains. The 1st coal train did a big circle. If you drove to center for bridge you'd see where they would load it by river. Cheek google maps you'll see coal pile by river. Have a great railroad day 🚂🙋♀️
Come to southern West Virginia in the Bluefield area you will see coal and freight trains go by. Plus McDowell Co. West Virginia between Welch and Northfork you will see trains their as well. Great video of the trains on the bridge and under the bridge as well. 👍👍
Not sure if you noticed, but the crew of that coal train switched engines around when they stopped on the bridge... 7650 was leading as they crossed the bridge and 44664 was leading when they headed under the bridge... Great video as always.. 73 Jim, K4QDF from Florida.
Awesome video JT . I miss the trains running through my back yard growing up. I live by the ocean now.Your videoes bring back great child hood memories. Keep up the good work. From Tim in Nova Scotia Canada
I realised this is just down the road from Huntington! I visited family there in 2012 and went out preaching in Huntington. I was always surprised at how willing the people were to talk about the Bible compared to my home in England, although the noise of the coal trains running right through the residential areas sometimes made it a challenge haha
that is awesome! I think the people in this part of the state are very friendly. There's not as much coal moving through Huntington today as compared to 2012. Thanks for watching!
Everything on that coal train came out loud & clear JT! Awesome going really slow over the bridge that creaking sound it makes is amazing before it stops. Then again when it starts back up. Cool the steps are still there for you to walk up onto the bridge, great filming all the way down the bridge. Yes we got the coal BOOM! Shoestring would have laughed if he wasnt in the gondola at the time! That train makes a lovely sound coming back under the bridge awesome JT. Its a relaxing sound to go to sleep to. Beautiful intermodel those coloured cars look stunning against the brught blue sky. Fab video thanks JT! 😊🤩❤👍
Thanks for pointing out those last 2 heavy-duty flat cars, I had missed them. They were cool! Also like the 5 bay rapid discharge hoppers in the first train. Not as common as they used to be. Yes, I like rolling stock. Thanks for sharing. 👍
That was really great seeing the train going across the trestle and then going around underneath that was really awesome and always awesome seeing the amazing live action pets and the nice slide shows thank you.🇺🇸🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇸
How beautiful this all looks JT. How beautiful what you do showing the trains that have brought Progress to many towns to this day but unfortunately in some parts they have been left aside. This formation, as a slow but firm friend says, is wonderful to see. I didn't know that charcoal has been left aside, although knit is used for many things, but like everything, its stage is always ending. But what day is that for me are the best days. I send you a big hug jt I always follow you, sometimes I don't open the videos at the moment because of my work or what I'm doing but at some point I open them and I like them.❤
Kenova, West Virginia, might be a good railfan retirement city. Low crime, low cost of living, plenty of rail activity. There are homes trackside near where Jaw Tooth hangs out.
I am still looking at the Kentucky side and the West Virginian side for real estate. NSX is my love yet I can support the Northfolk Southern definitely. I am a Hoosier originally. You find the best spots

I suspect that the UK will one day regret the decision to abandon the complete use of coal. Time will tell....
