@@scottdevine1241 I originally ordered the track edition, but it just resonated the entire cabin when accelerating, so I ended up getting the touring mufflers
Have you got the touring fitted yet? Could you let me know what you think when you do. I am looking for similar to you I think- sounding much more sporty when you open the valves and quiet when your in comfort/valves closed!
Yeah I fitted it the day it came, I so much prefer the sound of the touring edition vs the track. You can actually have a conversation in the car and hear your music.
We did not do any coding for the soundaktor. Only thing changed on the vehicle was the exhaust. The vehicle was toggled into "race" mode for the interior WOT segment.
I'm in - Track Edition order goes in this weekend and I don't even get the 2024 Golf R Manual Trans until June! I know what a dork but I just can't wait!
They both burble/backtalk when in sport mode -- how much is just dependent on the amount of throttle given. Sometimes they pop, other time they sound like they're gurgling water :P.
I will have one of these with the track exhaust by the end of the year. You should post a video with a manual, as that is the correct transmission on any performance car. This is the way.
Not as bad as one would expect thanks to the Mk8's formidable cabin insulation. It's always "on" whereas with the Touring Edition, it's more of a light switch effect -- meaning you hit a threshold and a constant speed and the exhaust note is not heard much over the road noise.
@@awetuning I’m so used to a baffled system with a remote so I can open and close at a wim but, that track edition is such a good value, it’s hard to pass up imo
@@Jvilleman400 that was my thinking also... you can always drown out the drone with loud music. I ordered the Track Edition yesterday, and slapped a 10" powered sub in the trunk by Audison as soon as I got the R to fix the Harmon Kardon sub that came with it.
it drone's between 3200-4200 RPM, but it's not headache bad... I took a 6 hour trip to Canada and had to turn up my music to drown out the drone. Track edition sounds amazing, but it does introduce vibrations and drone into the cabin. I will be ordering the Touring Edition muffler swap from Track soon. Again, it's not terrible, but for long trips cruising above 3200 RPM it for sure is a little annoying.
Ordered my Track Edition for my MK8 R yesterday. Can't wait.
Get the touring edition. The Track has cabin drone and vibrations. Especially between 3200-4200 RPM
Already ordered mine!!
Fast! (that's you)
What do you think of it? Did you get sport or touring?

I want to retain OEM functionality so doing away with the electronic valves is a bummer :/
The valves are open on the OEM system quite often. Consider the Touring Edition, it really is the do it all exhaust for the R without all the fluff.
Do you have videos with the car in race mode? Also has the sound actuator been completely turned off too?

Are you guys gonna make a valved option?
They said no, it wasn’t worth it due to drone.
Nope! We finally decided to do what we've wanted since the Mk7 generation, and we're not looking back.
So pumped for this! I loved the Switchpath on my Mk7 so I'm a little bummed about no valves but I'm sure it'll sound great either way.
This new evolution rendered a better result than the past. You'll be happy 💪
I had the mk7.5 track. Loved every mile of it.

None sense, buying parts before the car arrives is completely logical. Driving around with the stock exhaust is unfulfilling anyways. 💪
Right on!!!! @@awetuning
I need this! I wonder what the weight savings are between touring and track variants?
10.5 lbs.
I could be wrong, but it look like this golf R had an aftermarket downpipe installed with the exhaust. Does it have an aftermarket DP? …
Nope, all factory aside from the AWE configuration.
The touring model does not appear to pop and have loud bangs, am I correct? Because that is exactly what it don't want.

May I ask how much is the Track exhaust and does it require any ECU tuning?
No tuning required. Pricing can be found here: awe-tuning.com/products/awe-exhaust-suite-for-mk8-vw-golf-r
Is it possible to install the quad tip that we see in this video on a GTI?
Negative as the GTI valance will not accommodate quad tips.
