Now I’ll play the part of a KY fan. “Ha, Arkansas is about to learn. We’ve seen what Cal does with top tier talent year after year. Just wait Arkansas and you’ll see”. Now the truth. Calipari was sick of Ky fans and the awful A.D. I personally don’t think Pope is a bad coach, but he is unproven and he was very publicly embarrassingly Mitch’s 5th choice. Maybe just maybe KY isn’t the place yall think it is and the coaches have caught on. Now let’s see what a rejuvenated happy to go to work everyday Calipari has left, because we all know you don’t know sh!+ until they games actually get going. I have a VERY optimistic feeling about where our program is heading now, and one of these days you KY fans will quit being all butt hurt about Cal breaking up with y’all. Then you can all move on with your lives, and quit hating on AR so much because you’ll actually have a decent team of your own to concentrate on. You know, way down the line about 2-3 coaches from now. I can tell you from experience these next 10 - 20 years are gonna be hard to get thru but it will eventually turn around. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. @@Blake_Hawgfan24 KY fan here. I think you will be happy with Cal and he will be able to satisfy Arkansas fans simply because Arkansas basketball expectations are pretty low. He will have you guys ranked, bring in top classes, I see his ceiling at Arkansas as reaching the Elite 8 a couple time before he retires and that would be considered very good results for Arkansas seeing as your best seasons in the past 29 years have been a couple Elite 8's recently. 🤣😂🤣 As for being butt hurt, i was only butt hurt when Calipari wasn't fired, I was prepared to not watch any Kentucky games next season simply because I was tired of the great recruiting class hype and then getting disappointed come tourney time. Then I woke up to the wonderful news that he was leaving on his own and I was so excited. For me it didn't matter who the new coach was as long as I knew it wasn't Calipari. At least for now I have hope, which I didn't have when Calipari was the coach.

This year's SEC basketball schedules are the equivalents of Florida's football schedule. Ten teams may be worthy of the Big Dance.

How can people say that Arkansas has best 9 players BUT not #1?Are we really letting the 10th player on roster determine who's #1?????
I think there's a fear that the players are great individually but haven't jelled yet; like last years roster had on paper an amazing lineup, but lack of chemistry doomed the team. We don't know if this years team will have chemistry and work well together.

The SEC is going to be brutal this year, we are going to be dizzy this year because of upsets within the conference. I have a favorite SEC team, but at the end of the year there will be a big SEC presence in the tournament as the conference will be toughened up from league play.

I’m not necessarily his biggest fan, as his efficiency is… not ideal, but he is, in essence, a walking bucket and playmaker. he’s one of the best scorers in the conference

I can see your first pick being correct. SEC is going to be extremely tough this year. Probably shouldn't overlook Kentucky and Arkansas in the mix in the top five. I would say those teams in your top five including Kentucky and Arkansas could possibly be final four teams according to who's chemistry is the best from either of those seven teams. It's definitely going to be exciting to see who finishes in the top of the sec.

Because these guys don’t have Arkansas/Kentucky blinders on. As a Kentucky fan myself it’s clear that Auburn is the more cohesive roster. Star player returning. Very good proven coaching system. And a couple new studs to round it out.
Compared to Ark and UK we got two completely new ground-up rosters, lacks cohesion or chemistry, and both have coaches have done absolutely nothing to write home about the past 5 years. Throwing a bunch of random top players together or trying out a fancy new offensive system could work out but the odds are not exactly 1/1 of that happening…

I can see Tennessee possibly being number 1 when all is said and done. With their roster,they might even be better offensively than last year when they had the best player in college basketball named Dalton Knecht. Wow!!!

As a biased fan, SC will almost certainly better than 11th. I don't have much else to say though, because it is wayyyy too early. Don't expect a battle for the top of the SEC, but top half for sure

my thoughts relative to my own rankings:
-Texas A&M and Arkansas are both far too high
-Texas and South Carolina are both far too low
-LSU should not occupy the nadir of the conference. they’re honestly my sleeper team selection for this year
-everything else is (generally speaking) fairly reasonable, with more minor griping from me
regardless of rankings, this is the most excited I’ve been for a season of SEC men’s basketball my entire life! I am ready for father Lamont Paris to flourish once more

Kentucky might be better than they have been the last 4 years. They definitely will be one of if not the best shooting team in the league.
Kentucky was not just the best shooting team in the SEC this past year, they were number 1 in the nation at 40.9% from 3. Shooting wasn’t an issue .

@@SEC_Outsider what is your point?? I'm not talking about last year. This roster has more shooters than any roster in the league. The entire team is capable of shooting the 3, and the majority are really good, with a few who is elite shooters. Last year was a different coach, players, and system.
