The a&m starters gave up 46 yards rushing. The 3rd string gave up 120+
2nd string gave up zero eh?
Most of the second string was interspersed with the first string in the first half. Few on the released 2 deep depth chart played in the second half and none in the 4th quarter.

The starting defense was all sitting on the bench in the 2nd quarter. Conner on played on a little way into the 2nd quarter. Keep up guys.
If we start lagway we win 38-24 if we start Mertz we lose 24-7
Thanks for the content guys! Great stuff! One thing to keep in mind with analyzing these games is who is playing in them. The A&M defensive starters were out of the game before halftime because the offense scored a touchdown on seven straight drives. While I do agree that there are things to clean up about the defense, the McNeese St game is not one of them. You can throw that one out.
A&M has rushed for 479 yards on 79 attempts. That's good for 6.3 ypc which is 3rd best in the SEC. I'd say the identity that Elko is going for here is to run the football and make timely throws. I think Conner is struggling to find his fit in this offense because it's built to run the football, and he's a passer first. I suppose time will tell how that will work out.

I think A&M wins this if both the defensive and offensive schemes look less vanilla. If passing game isn't working early, we should run heavy. OL and TE blocking should be decent enough with our stable to win this one for us. D just needs to stay home.
