    Great instructional video man. You’re making me rethink putting scent on my lures this season... I’m fond of the KA... but when the trash fish are thick, I’ll switch to the apex. But I don’t put scent on it... may have to now!

      Thank you , yeah I feel like the scent really helps , they bite it hard ! Smells too good lol and it has uv flash so that helps too

    Great content Brotha! Appreciate that. Gonna try that setup on a slightly smaller scale for hopefully some large trout. ✌😎🤙

      Thanks I’m sure it will work for trout I like using needlefish spoons they work really good on the troll 3 mph

      I add a 1/4 ounce weight to drop it down , like a Carolina rig

    Nice video! I have a question what's the reason for changing the the treble hook to a single hook ? Thanks

    Looks good. I haven't tried that spoon yet. Great to see you using 40#! I see a lot of guys fishing 20 or 30 and breaking fish off. Try offsetting your hooks 1/4". It really seems to help get hook ups.

    • @fv_hightide
      @fv_hightide  3 роки тому

      Thanks I’ll try that , those mustad hooks work really good once I hook up they usually always stay pinned

    • @fishmstr001
      @fishmstr001 3 роки тому +1

      @@fv_hightide Roger that, there's a reason why the coms use em. The offset helps get better hook ups on your takedowns.

      40# is ridiculous 20 or 30 lb is more than enough. I normally use 12lb. learn to set your drag properly

    • @fishmstr001
      @fishmstr001 2 роки тому +1

      @@dxharms I am not sure why you would say 40# is ridiculous? Commercial guys use 80-100#. A 30# chinook could not only easily break 20#, but its large teeth could very easily cut it (much less 12# test). Years ago I made a decision that if the fish doesn't care what pound test it is, why should I?
