Kind of a lot of Elden Ring is, in fairness, just... that. A non-linear web of encounters with a wide variety of SOBs you will utterly hate most of by the end of it... and this is from someone who thought it was a pretty fun game.
I share Henya's dislike for the Draconic Tree Sentinel, I got so angry at it's cheapness that I ended up giving it right back to it by using the poison mist tactic. Maybe I could have beaten it eventually, but getting killed by it's frontal wide-area red lightning attack when I had it damn near defeated really did me in. Funny thing is, I absolutely destroyed the one in front of Maliketh, free shrugs I guess.
If you're feeling extra mean, there's actually a way to nerf the Mimic Tear battles even further than going in completely naked. Equip 6 bows, 3 in each hand, but no arrows. It can't use any attacks, since it can't switch to anything except a bow. So it can't even heckle you with its fists. The game does give it Ruin Fragments so it can still fight back, but will still only be dealing 1 damage and attacks even slower.
It's been a while since we got to enjoy our little tryhard kettle ranting and screaming in frustration :)
This Elden Ring run by Henya is going to be peak content that will be hard to top. I can't wait to see if she'll actually test out Malenia.
