- In this video me as a Doordash Driver will be trying out Postmates Delivery! I take you through my first 7 hours and then breakdown my entire income and reveal how much I made and whether or not it was worth it. Then I give you my total review of the app and how it stacks up with doordash and Uber Eats. Hope you enjoy:)
Postmates really need to update on letting us see the mileage and pay because it’s like we’re going blind without knowing is some of the orders worth it.

Uber Eats replaced Postmates in my location. It was my first delivery job. It was a nice little run! I quit working with it worrying about being eliminated from quite a few cancelled orders since Postmates was so new in my location. It was still so fun working with it. :)
I actually got some tips from December a week ago the issue is they don’t ask for tip til after the delivery and they don’t push a notification so many don’t tip until they open the app again that may be changing because uber is making huge changes to postmates within the month
This reminds me to keep my postmates app active I have to do one delivery from that app once a month 😂 I’m more into Doordash and grubhub fulltime
I haven't done it in a few years. I'm mostly doing Grubhub & Doordash also.
I’ve always found Postmates base pay to suck, but the tips were the best because it happens after so customer service pays off way more.

Postmates is almost completely dead in my area. I get maybe 5 orders a day when I do it. Doordash is the way to go for me.

The DD promotion for April is even crazier...600 deliveries for $300. Seriously crazy.

Postmates is great in my area I make decent money but you gotta drive during peak hrs in order to make some money.

I got on with postmates last summer tried it out didn’t like it. I don’t like postmates because they aren’t transparent about total miles and payout for the order. So like you have found out it’s like postmates wants you to accept every order because you don’t know how much you are getting paid. One thing I do like about postmates is the fact you can go online whenever you don’t have to schedule shifts unlike with doordash you do. Uber eats brought out postmates so either Uber will change the layout of postmates or leave it be.
Yeah it’s sus that they don’t put the pay or the mileage
@@Moore.Driven it is a bit weird I don’t like that they don’t show everything up front. I haven’t seen any of those bonus lately on postmates. It could be because you just started or it could be your area not sure though. Do you think you will keep doing postmates or recommend them? How is the Doordash situation going?
@@321matt I’m gonna see if they keep doing these bonuses because if they do I’ll definitely do them. And I’m still suspended from doordash so hopefully they reactivate me soon🙏🤞🏻
@@Moore.Driven hopefully they do one other I have noticed here in Virginia is that postmates isn’t that busy. In busier area postmates will have red octagon shaped areas in the map (kind of like Doordash hotspots) that is where you should go if there is any since that is where it’s mostly busy at. I haven’t tried Uber eats yet I’m on a waitlist for grubhub. Instacart is pretty good have you tried them?
@@321matt Uber eats is way good! I’m on a waitlist for grubhub too. And I have instacart but haven’t tried them yet, probably will next week tho!
It's actually they pay you the difference, not the $300 dollar on top. Let's say u made $245 doing 45 deliveries, postmates will pay $55 to meet the $300 threshold

@@sammypsycho8273 it’s true and average $4 per in tips is what I noticed. So you add the tips for the previous day to get your daily.
So 45 deliveries averages $180 tips approx plus the $300 guarantee so $480 for the 45 deliveries.
They do the bonuses often. While you’re waiting on the orders get napkins, forks, condiments, free mints, whatever. You can get expensive orders because they’re restaurants that are not on grub hub or Uber that have to deliver through post mates so you can end up with rich people ordering huge meals from weird places.
I’ve had to deliver apple laptops and banquets and my biggest tip was $45

On weekends they do complete 5 deliveries earn extra 30 $ sometimes 8 earn extra 50 but it all could go based on the city your in also if it’s busy
Actually, Postmates will give you the difference between the base payment and the guarantee amount. So, think about it. It's less than you think. Let's say an average delivery, the base pay is $4. You'll multiply that by the total amount of delivery that the app is requesting you to do. In this instance, is 45. So, the total would be $180. The remainder is would be $120. So, on average they're paying you $2.50 + per delivery. This is elementary math, you should've been able to figure this out.
If that is the case you’re saying is no matter what I make $6.67 per order, not including tip? It’s not $300 added onto the 45 deliveries?
Who wouldn't tip 💵 a cute guy pulling up in a Mercedes??🙂🙃 with my order 🤣🤣. I haven't done Postmates in a few years now. Doordash, Uber Eats & Grubhub are predominant in my area
